Gabe? You mean Luke? Pay attention, mate.

The only people who were on point most of last season were the background characters. The primary ones were all a bit off. It's only been two episodes (and truthfully I really didn't watch the second one intensely yet) but it seems like they almost "reset" them from last year, and that is NOT a bad thing.

Re: Pam -- she even LOOKS more like she did in past seasons (1-3) and not like last year.

i agree pam is acting out of character and not really funny.

anyone think toby and michael may become friends after all. they went back and forth in the last episode and michael seems like he will turn his dislike towards gabe instead of toby.

I couldn't make it through the first episode of Outsourced either, but early on it's getting outstanding ratings

The bottle of wine being passed around was funny. Good episode, IMO.

Erin is so weird...that's the only way I can describe her.

I thought it was a decent episode, definitely bringing back some of the awkward funny that this show is good for instead of just silly over the top stuff

You just have to accept that this show isn't going to be hilarious every episode anymore. I really like Andy's character (although Erin is annoying as fuck) so I'm glad they spent some time showing that he's actually talented and not just Nard-Dog all the time

I don't really buy into the "the show kinda sucks now so you should just accept it and not say anything" theory. The Dwight and Angela subplot didn't do anything for me, and Darryl was underused. At least they left out Gabe for an entire episode. The only things that I really got a laugh out of were throwaway gags like Creed being a drama critic and the hurt locker reference.

^^ that is what happens in TV, a money driven business. After a point, shows simply run out of new and funny material but the network refuses to let them die gracefully. It is the EXTREMELY rare show that can keep being funny after 4-5 seasons on a consistent basis and certainly a show like The Office which is based on the mundane is going to have more of a problem with that. Season 2 of this show pretty much ruined the show for a lot of people now because it was pretty close to perfect on all levels.

Sure, no one is saying you need to be entertained but I'll be honest, I get annoyed to a point with the people who parade around about any show saying it's "just not the same" or "so unfunny" or "sucks ass now." I mean if I stopped getting enjoyment out of a show, I'd just stop watching. My sister did that with How I Met Your Mother. I did it with Scrubs Season 7 (though I thought Season 8 was really good/funny when I got around to watching it).

Oh, I haven't seen the episode yet.

Ok, double post with hypocrisy. That episode sucked. I actually like Jim and Pam the most and that is rare... Andy/Erin/Gabe are so damn annoying as a plot-line even though I really like Gabe's character.

Next week should be funny from the synopsis I saw...

I thought the episode was great. The Angela-Dwight plot wasn't funny. The LO part made me LOL. I really felt like Michael brought the LOLs tonight. Snagging the wine, passing it around.

That's not really what I meant but I don't really know how to say it

Like the show has shifted from a show with no real specific long-term plan that just had a bunch of pranks and one-off jokes... to a show that's trying harder to develop character relationships that aren't Pam and Jim so the episodes won't be super full of jokes like the past. I think they had some problems with that last season but this season is showing some promise

It wasn't supposed to be funny, it was just relationship development.

I'm loving Dwight this season. And I'm liking the plot between him and Angela. Not everything HAS to be funny, especially when the comedic parts are becoming forced and over the top.

Great episode.

I lost it when they convinced Andy to put "Unplanned Pregnancy" in the Pros category.
Foreshadowing an Erin/Gabe pregnancy scare? God, I hope not.

Obviously setting up for a Michael/Holly reunion, but I don't have a problem with that.

I feel like this gave some nice closure on the Jan story line (is that meta?), she just kind of disappeared before.

Darryl is a consistently funny character, I loved his broad advice to Andy.

Highly enjoyed last night's episode, definitely made up for last week. Hah, at the end when michael poured his heart out to holly on voicemail, and then non-chalantly adds "oh yeah, you might want to get tested for herpes." Priceless

Never been a big fan of Jan...but she was pretty funny when she started singing to her child. Dwight's "I don't get the reference" had me laughing too. The pros and cons list was hilarious.

^^^^ Dwight has ALWAYS been over the top in my opinion. He's just more mean spirited now (really since Season 4) so it makes him harder to like.

Wow, BJ Novak wants to see Danny McBride replace Steve Carrell. That would be quite a change.

god that would be awesome if there was away for him to play the same type of character, minus the baseball part of course... but obviously that won't happen on a network show

Haha, I just watched the episode from last week. I laughed a lot but I can NOT stand the Andy/Erin thing. End it please! It was cute and funny when it was Jim and Pam because they were so normal. It's not funny or interesting now with those two.

The episode was perfect Michael and you can tell he is getting a bit down on his situation (maybe even with D-M?)...
