we went today for lunch, it was good ... chicken tenders were the shiznit
8/21/2010 5:47:39 PM
What rtc407 is too humble to explain, is that his dad indeed works for Golden Corral, and has a pretty prestigious position. He travels the world to various GCs and although I don't know all the details, is well respected in the administration, and he eats for free if he wishes. I'm sure he could elaborate, but it's a pretty sweet gig. So yeah, Thomas knows just about everything there is to know about GC.And that baby needs to hurry up! Little guy is past due!
8/21/2010 5:59:49 PM
Lol "travels the world"Yeah he's the senior VP of GC
8/21/2010 6:26:58 PM
in that case:Buy an ad. [Edited on August 21, 2010 at 6:43 PM. Reason : .]
8/21/2010 6:40:34 PM
Pretty sure I already stated that I even worked there in the past... But I will be contacting the advertising dept of GC Monday at 8 am just for you.[Edited on August 21, 2010 at 6:45 PM. Reason : ]
8/21/2010 6:45:11 PM
gotta say that i didnt like the chef-fairy banging people on the head w/ the iron skilletnor the newest commercial w/ the jerk-off faced dad telling what his family demands
8/21/2010 6:50:24 PM
I was not expecting to see a friggin donut machine.
8/21/2010 9:19:58 PM
yeah, the new commercials aren't so good"WE'RE FUCKING FAT, SO WE NEED A PLACE THAT WILL LET US EAT FOR SIX HOURS BUT ONLY CHARGE US ONCE"the all-you-can-eat aspect of the commercial should emphasize the available variety of food at one low price, not the fact that the TV family are greedy pigs who must be fed continuously
8/21/2010 9:29:04 PM
-shrug- maybe that's the demographic they're after?
8/21/2010 9:33:08 PM
8/21/2010 9:34:59 PM
^^ but those people are going to go there anywayif you emphasize that you can get decent seafood and asian stuff and bourbon chicken and ice cream and whatever and you can pick and choose and change your mind because it's all-you-can-eat, perhaps reasonable people would go more often
8/21/2010 9:36:19 PM
i know the next time i go, that skewers-only sign by the chocolate fountain isn't going to stop me from letting it flow all over my cookies and/or chocolate pie
8/21/2010 9:40:42 PM
I went to the one in Wilson last month and made a chocolate covered hot dog.
8/21/2010 10:06:14 PM
im hungover.this may be happening today
8/22/2010 8:03:56 AM
i prefer sweet tomatoes if i'm going to go to a buffet[Edited on August 22, 2010 at 8:09 AM. Reason : BOGO coupon FTW]
8/22/2010 8:09:17 AM
sweet tomatoes ROCKS
8/22/2010 8:17:30 AM
their latest coupons are always here: http://dealspl.us/souplantation-coupons$15 gets you two adult meals and two drinks (for those who don't know)
8/22/2010 8:19:26 AM
i go there all the time though. (like onced every two weeks...which is a lot for me!)i havent been to gc in a long time
8/22/2010 8:27:12 AM
When you're in the right mood, Golden Corral is so good. Bourbon St. chicken, mashed potatoes, string beans, yeast rolls. . .mmmmm. . . Definitely great hangover/comfort food.
8/22/2010 8:38:40 AM
I object to all-you-can-eat establishmentsI don't want to get fatter
8/22/2010 10:41:48 AM
just because you can eat what you want doesn't mean you have to gorge yourself.
8/22/2010 10:45:02 AM
No more noble than drug dealers.
8/22/2010 11:00:57 AM
^ The starving people would much rather go to a soup kitchen than to eat my leftovers.Personally, I blew up my toilet last night. I blame mixing GC and Dos Taquitos.
8/22/2010 12:24:53 PM
the problem w/ GC is that it costs $11 and you feel like you have to get your money's worth
8/22/2010 1:51:18 PM
this thread motivated me to go check out the new golden corral... dear god it was almost intimidating. I was very impressed.
8/22/2010 1:54:28 PM
yeah, i can spend less than $11 and leave full (not gorged, though that's possible, too) on better food
8/22/2010 1:55:11 PM
8/22/2010 2:01:09 PM
Went to the Glenwood Ave GC today for lunch. 4 plates + 3 dessert plates + 5 yeast rolls later I feel like death.
8/22/2010 7:00:18 PM
went tonight. place was SLAMMED. the chocolate fountain was apparently the place for mexican kids to put their hands into
8/22/2010 10:12:54 PM

8/22/2010 10:18:06 PM
8/22/2010 10:44:35 PM
mmm memories! The rolls are my favorite...with honey butter.
8/22/2010 11:54:17 PM
i went like last friday without knowing all this and was very pleasantly surprised... that was like the best golden corral visit ever
8/23/2010 12:15:14 AM
I might go hit it.
1/6/2011 7:54:48 PM
rtc407 How is the babby?
1/6/2011 8:20:27 PM

1/6/2011 8:30:49 PM
