It's a difference in how they choose to frame the picture. In the past they've always assumed that everyone had an old school 4x3 TV and tried to put all the important stuff inside that box. If you had a 16x9 HDTV, you did get extra stuff on the sides, but what was there was completely unintentional and oftentimes not relevant at all. Now the camera operators are actually looking at a 16x9 box when they're choosing their shot. So, in theory, you will be getting wider shots that actually take advantage of your entire HDTV screen.

In practice, it's probably not gonna be that much of a difference. But it's good to see them actually producing content specifically for people with newer TVs and not dumbing it down for people still on older sets.

If anything, they'd be zooming in a little. But that's simplifying it quite a bit.

over/under on the number of weeks before Derek Anderson overtakes Matt Leinart for the starting QB position with the Cardinals?

3? 4?

Leinart looked terrible as usual, Anderson came in, marched down the field and scored on his first drive. Through a little over a quarter of play Leinart was 4/6 for 28 yards, on one drive Anderson was 3/5 for 55 yards

Leinart is such a joke...and I watched part of the USC/UCLA game from his senior year the other day, and I had forgotten how good a college QB he was, since he's been so terrible in the NFL

Ware is tied for 3rd and Mario/Philip are both tied at #14 with a grade of 91. Not sure how you messed that one up...

Too early in the morning... I realized that they had the same grade, but I thought they were ranked within that grade. It is indeed in alphabetical order.

refs mightve just cost Kyle Orton an injury. The called an obvious incomplete pass a fumble, that was picked up and returned by James Harrison, Orton went low trying to make a tackle and got his back/shoulder/upper arm smashed. The 1st play after that Brady Quinn got sacked.

With how shitty Quinn and Tebow have looked (well Tebow hasnt looked bad, hes just young and been hurt) the Broncos will be in a world of trouble if Orton has an injury. It all couldve and shouldve been avoided if the refs wouldve made the right call and left it as an incomplete pass

also, FUCK THE STEELERS

Cryptkeeper ranks all the QBs ... and lol fuck us
didnt read the whole thing, but dont know how he came up w/ 33
nvm he has both leftwich and roeth. in there

Quote :
"32. Matt Moore, Carolina Panthers

Analysis: He has a 6-2 record as starter, but a slow start could speed the Jimmy Clausen era in Carolina.
Chance of being elite: 5 percent

33. Jake Delhomme, Cleveland Browns

Analysis: Interceptions in the playoff loss to Arizona in 2008 led to a downward spiral for a quarterback who won a lot of games for John Fox and the Panthers. At 35, Delhomme has no chance of being a starter anywhere else if he doesn't cut it in Cleveland.
Chance of being elite: 0 percent"

Quote :
"New England Patriots receiver Randy Moss, who has kept silent for most of training camp, expressed some frustration Monday afternoon about not having a contract beyond this season.

"When you have done so much and put so much work in, it kind of feels like I am not wanted," Moss told CBSSports.com. "I am taking that in stride and playing my final year out and whatever the future holds is what it holds, but it is kind of a bad feeling -- feeling not wanted. It is not like my production has gone down. I am speaking from an individual standpoint. I don't know about [Patriots quarterback] Tom [Brady's] or whoever else's contract.

"I am a little older and understand the nature of the business -- the older you get the more your skills supposedly diminish, but I think I am getting wiser in how to use my physical skills. That's the frustrating part when you put so much heart and desire into things and feel like you are not wanted."

Moss, 33, is entering the final year of a three-year contract and will earn $6.4 million this season. Last season, Moss caught 83 passes for 1,246 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Brady, whose contract also expires at the end of the season, and Moss went out to dinner together Monday night, according to a source.

Moss has been quoted more than once this offseason as saying he thought this would be his last year in New England.

In May, in a Boston Herald story about Moss parting ways with longtime agent Tim DiPiero, Moss was quoted as saying, "I don't think I'm realistically in the future plans of the Patriots. But if the New England Patriots don't want me in their future, [it's a business]. I understand."

Moss made similar comments in February. "I don't think they are going to extend my contract here," Moss said, according to The Boston Globe.

"You know the Patriots don't really pay, so when I got my second contract from them that was a blessing in disguise. I understand the business. I don't think they're going to re-sign me back. I'm not mad. I'm not bitter. It's just the way things are in this NFL, so like I said after this year I'll be looking for a new team. I think so.""

Actually, Randy, it does sound like u mad

It will be interesting to see how this affects his play this season. Most players would try and ball out in a contract year but I get the feeling if things get tough Randy will be pouting on the sideline real quick.

I think the Pats are not offering an new contract because of the potential labor issues. Moss is already 33 and assuming there is a major strike next year, the Pats would be giving him a contract to begin at 35. I would be leary to give any NFL player a good contract at 35.

I think Moss though will try and put up huge numbers just to prove that he is worth the money. I think he has gotten past all that pouting crap that tarnished his career in Minnesota and Oakland.

Is that stache real? I saw it on TV but didn't catch the intro to his bit where he would explain why he would be wearing a fake stache.

How the hell does Houston have 2 FG's when they only have 25 yards and the colts haven't turned the ball over?
