^ Maybe you like Pelosi, but she's pretty unpopular in polls. I realize that she probably does okay concerning favorability in her congressional district--but as speaker, a national figure, not so much.
7/15/2010 5:38:32 AM
she has done what she said she would do. and she has done it without much fanfare. what more can you ask for? much of the negativity about pelosi seems pretty sexist to be honest. and i'm not usually one to pull the sexism card.

^ Well, that's not where I'm coming from. And I'm perfectly willing to be governed by a gay black female as speaker or even president--as long as I agree with most of her positions.

I like how the assumption is that it's hate (or racism) towards the President, and not actual disagreements in policy. I'm sure Obama is a great guy and all. It's the whole destroying the country thing that I can't get on board with. The economy is not going to recover or even begin recovering in the next 2 years. Things will be worse, and we'll still be losing jobs. I don't see Obama getting re-elected, but it could happen if the Republican candidate is awful enough.

I don't know if he's trying to or not. You already know what my economic outlook is, and the policies he's pursuing are, I believe, going to contribute the a substantial decrease in our standard of living. The right thing to do would be to run a balanced budget. He's moving in the opposite direction of that.^^You're still posting that graph, dude? The "recovery" starts before any Obama initiatives even took effect. Then, when the government hires a bunch of temporary employees, that counts as job growth.[Edited on July 24, 2010 at 3:45 PM. no, commie dumbass. he's confident that what Obama is doing will destroy the country. that's not the same as saying Obama is "trying to destroy the country." Reading is fundamental.

OH SHITTHOSE ARE REALLY DIFFERENTI AM A DUMBASS HERP DERP

TSB has become such a joke. Or maybe it always was.

Quinnipiac: Obama Approval Hits New LowJuly 21, 2010http://realclearpolitics.blogs.time.com/2010/07/21/quinnipiac-obama-approval-hits-new-low/I guess the haters--and a lot of other folks--are gonna hate Obama after all. Or at least disapprove of him.

I'm setting the line at Obama -100 electoral votes in 2012[Edited on July 24, 2010 at 8:03 PM. Reason : lol]
7/24/2010 8:03:19 PM
I've noticed that every time his approval rating goes down by 1 or 2 points on any given poll for the first time, lots of stories get run as new all time low as if his polling is violently crashing all the time rather than having relative stability.
7/24/2010 8:33:30 PM
use your brain, Kris, or what's left of it...it is possible that Obama is doing what he thinks is best... and that what he thinks is best might actually lead the country to ruin, even though he doesn't think it would do so. Thus, Obama wouldn't be "trying to destroy the country," all while actually doing so. "Trying" implies willful intent, dumbass.as in, you tried to be smart, but you failed miserably and are thus dumb. But you aren't trying to be dumb. You just are dumb]
7/24/2010 10:53:15 PM
^ how is Obama even accidentally destroying the country when by most metrics, things are better off since he took office?
7/24/2010 11:15:31 PM
because jobs numbers are the only metric that counts.adding trillions to the debt doesn't matter...fucking up healthcare beyond belief to the point where doctors are dropping patients doesn't count...adding a new entitlement to the existing ones that we already can't afford doesn't count...entrenching "too big to fail" and "public losses / private profits" doesn't count...rewarding the banks that got us into this mess w/ the financial bill doesn't count...but, yes, jobs are "up", even with the porkulous bill that never fucking worked and was just a nice handout to his buddies]

Now you're going to have to convince those independents that it's worth voting for Republican ideas in November. Otherwise, they'll stay home.
