it was really really weird watching Lane kiss that woman and be in any way sexual at all actually

was really hoping that the party that Peggy was at was being held at The Factory
8/15/2010 11:08:54 PM
I'm glad it wasn't at The Factory. I think its a strength of a show that they mostly avoid directly intertwining characters into actual cultural landmarks. Like, in the previous episode they had Don and Lane in the Village listening to some guy get introduced as the next Bob Dylan. If they actually had them seeing Bob Dylan or hanging out with Andy Warhol then it would be lamer and less authentic. It'd be more kitsch, like that American Dreams show from several years back.
8/16/2010 2:58:42 AM
That's a tough line to walk. I enjoyed the "real" stuff with Connie Hilton last season, but I do agree that it could easily go overboard very quickly and end up being lame.[Edited on August 16, 2010 at 3:09 AM. Reason : if we don't find out next week if the old woman got pears I'll be ]

My favorite episode so far. It's good to have Pete firmly back in the story. Don is starting to lose his edge and based on the previews it looks like he and Pete could be tossed into a power struggle.
8/16/2010 7:01:38 AM
Thought this was a great episode. Some good one-liners which Mad Men isn't usually known for.
8/16/2010 8:23:31 AM
Good episode, Campbell might be sneaky and underhanded, but he really turned his situation into an opportunity in his favor. He could have just dropped Vicks for Ponds as instructed, but caught Daddy in law by the balls. Not a one liner used for humor, but still my favorite of the episode:I can't believe that guy's married to her.........I would get her so pregnant Gotta love Alison Brie!
8/16/2010 9:25:08 AM
"It starts at 9, i'll be there at 10"I also liked how Pete said to his father-in-law "every time you jump to conclusions I respect you less"
8/16/2010 9:31:52 AM
^^I also cracked up at that line. And that little shrug Pete gave his father-in-law might be the first time I've genuinely liked Pete since the series started.
8/16/2010 12:03:43 PM
"i have a boyfriend""he doesn't own your vagina""yeah but he rents it"hehehehehehe
8/16/2010 10:08:44 PM
Did'ya get pears?
8/18/2010 12:02:59 AM
I am pretty sure that was the same old dude who showed his ass in The Hangover
8/18/2010 12:09:39 AM
i may be late to the party, but in case you've missed it, a bunch of the characters have twitter accts. they tweet back and forth all day as if they're actually working and stuff. even carla (draper's housemaid woman), the draper kids, & the xerox have accounts. it's pretty funny.i set up a list. i'm not sure if this is everybody but it's most http://twitter.com/#/list/se7enty/mad-men[Edited on August 18, 2010 at 5:28 PM. ahha, love the new secretary. And gg Peggy for not taking crap from Allison when she implied that she screwed Don to be where she is. Did feel a little bad for the girl . . . anyone notice blondie was all like "who?" when one of the secretaries asked her if Allison was okay after the advertising panel? ha!
8/18/2010 10:06:08 PM
that was a fucking great opening 20 minutes
8/22/2010 10:22:16 PM
there needs to be more discussion about this episode. could be one of the best one's that has been on in a really long time. I would definitely put it on my top 5 of all time.
8/23/2010 9:14:32 AM
Roger cracked me up.
8/23/2010 11:44:40 AM
the river of shit line ruled so hard
8/23/2010 12:46:04 PM
Yeah Roger's one liners were definitely lawl-worthy. I wonder what will go down with that nurse from across the hall. I doubt this is the last we see of her.
8/23/2010 1:04:04 PM
"call me dr. edna, that's what the kids do"
8/23/2010 4:41:38 PM
omg, just watched. that was a great episode.
8/23/2010 7:35:18 PM
I just watched that episode for the first time last night.Brilliant.
8/27/2010 11:52:57 AM
that secretary is so fucking here to stay lol
8/28/2010 11:24:56 PM
i hate her presence on the show...I'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message.
8/29/2010 2:26:19 AM
I like Pete more and more as episodes go on. I know that they made him partner but letting Roger have it for trying to screw up the Honda account was pretty ballsy.
8/29/2010 9:04:45 PM
really good episode (last week's). it renewed my waning interest in this show. Hopefully tonight's will be on that level
8/29/2010 9:29:47 PM
tonight's was good as well. Don is turning into an actual drunk.
8/29/2010 11:25:53 PM
Don kissed Joan when they won the award
8/29/2010 11:26:32 PM
Freaking Doyle from Gilmore Girls.
8/30/2010 6:56:11 AM
I really enjoyed last night's ep but boy is Mad Men at it's best when Don is on top of his game.It was so hard to watch him pitch for Life.I miss the Don Draper of old.
8/30/2010 1:08:36 PM
whatever, drunk Don pulling ass is always great
8/30/2010 1:39:10 PM
This ep he was succesful but this season he is constantly getting rejected by women due to his drunkeness. Classic Don would have ran train on Neighbor Nurse and Faye Miller.Shit is sad
8/30/2010 1:57:42 PM
i loved the way don got his job
8/30/2010 9:58:35 PM
Apparently employment rates are directly correlated to alcohol consumption.Someone go tell Obama.
8/30/2010 11:48:34 PM
Don lays more pipe than the super mario brothers.
8/31/2010 6:29:33 PM
i dont imagine Roger will be a major player anymore, at least not actively, after this season. he's realizing it, everyone else is realizing it, and the fact that he's starting his memoirs only hurts him as he's only looking back now introspectively and not looking ahead at all cause he knows what's comingdon of course will rebound, maybe the lady he works with (i cant remember all his women's names) gives him an ultimatum like put the drink down and pick me upand Peg sexually harassing the nudie artist was probably my favorite part
8/31/2010 6:36:22 PM
8/31/2010 7:39:16 PM
Is it just me or are the previews for the next episode always ambiguous as hell? They show each character saying one word from one sentence and expect us to anticipate what might happen. Enjoying the past few episodes but that always bugs me.
8/31/2010 11:57:00 PM
that's what they're going for....
9/1/2010 12:02:36 AM
started season 1 last night...i will get there
9/2/2010 9:52:45 AM
9/2/2010 10:10:03 AM
^ yep
9/2/2010 11:27:15 AM
9/2/2010 11:42:09 AM
^ I'd much rather not know anything, than have the plot given away. It's not hard to peak interest and not give away plot though. Many shows now a days show too much in the preview. For example Survivor on CBS comes out with mid-week previews that show more than the one after the last show. You find out the tribes merge via the preview, WTF!?

that might have been my favorite episode of the season.I'm fascinated by the Don/Peggy relationship. it was cool how open they were. it might have been more open then I've ever seen either of them ever be.do you think the bond between them is at all "romantic?" do you think Don will ever fuck Peggy?[Edited on September 6, 2010 at 3:01 AM. 9/6/2010 3:01:07 AM
^ no and noso is don finally out of this rut or what?
9/6/2010 12:53:56 PM
^I hope for "no" to both as well.
9/6/2010 1:04:55 PM
i don't think don is depraved enough to do that to peggy. i could see peggy making more of a move on don than vice versa.
