Anyway to get DTV to give me the Sunday Ticket and get 5 months free? I called to cancel sunday ticket (they charge you every year) and they couldn't do it because it's for new customers. If I call retention, are they gonna give me that deal? Anyway to renew a 2 year contract and receive that deal? Anyway to cancel and have my wife sign up for it to get the new customer deal?Just want to see what others have done.

You have to get a rep that will setup a fake Mover's Connection order basically to your own house, iirc. For instance right now I'm living at 123 AAA St. but moving to 456 BBB St. by the end of the month. Pipe burst at BBB St and it's delayed, so if I still setup the move for like 30 days out then my promo kicks in immediately at AAA St. But if no one is at BBB St. on the date of the install with power and a TV then the order gets canceled and so does the promotion. If you find someone that will do a move for you, you can get the 5 months without even renewing the contract. There are ways around it but simply asking them to extend your contract to give you the special usually doesn't work. Retentions might hook you up better who knows. Also, if for some reason you hit a brick wall on all fronts and want to sign up under your wifes name be sure to grab my account number for the referral credit first! ^^i just got off the phone from an unsolicited random sales call from directv - the person was offering every channel plus sunday ticket for $2 more than i am paying now per month, for 5 months. i thought it was strange and i was very skeptical, but i didn't have to give any information but to verify my name - so we'll see if it works. you do have to call to cancel near the end of the 5 month to cancel the upgrade, but i specifically asked and was assured i could cancel and revert to my previous package, there is no obligation to continue and no penalty or fee. i also specifically asked if the two year agreement would be reset - they said no. i have never had either package before, but you can try calling the number that called me : 877.204.0596[Edited on September 30, 2010 at 6:12 PM. Has anyone been able to get the remote DVR to work for Time Warner. I can get onto their web interface but whenever I try to set something to record it gives me an error message.

No its broke as shit and what pisses me off even more is the commercial with the faggot and his son playing baseball where the guy nonchalantly sets the game to record with two touches on his phone. First of all, it takes like 5 minutes and dozens of button presses to even get the the application on a mobile device. Second, the program doesn't even work. Third, that guy fucking sucks at baseball, his eight year old son is better than him, and he's trying to act like he's a badass for striking him out. What a piece of dogshit service and commercial, and I hate that guy even in real life.

At my house right now we have two HD boxes and two SD boxes. Outside of the main HD DVR box, the other 3 have a $5/mo charge. I just called DirecTV about swapping out one of the SD boxes for another HD box and the customer service rep told me there was a $99 leased receiver fee and that it would cost an additional $3/month. He told me I couldn't get that box for free (or a reduced price) until I'd had my account for a full year (3-4 months from now). What in the world? Does this sound right? I'm tempted to call back and speak with someone else. It seems completely ridiculous to me.[Edited on December 7, 2010 at 8:43 AM. Reason : y]

no clue, but i just signed up for DTV and it's light years better than TWC. The UI is a lot better, the DVR/On Demand is much more organized/responsive and I appreciate that DTV hides SD channels when an HD equivalent is available. The only thing I miss about TWC is that the remote lights up in the dark when you press a button, DTV does not.If anyone wants a referral, hit me up. ($100 off your bill and mine)/thread hijack!
