8/2/2010 12:58:44 PM
^^ I've got Enjoy Eternal Bliss which is fantastic. If they have other albums I need to acquire them.
8/2/2010 2:27:30 PM
^ That is all I have as well. Apparently they have some older EP too but the few opinions I've seen weren't as favorable. For some reason they remind me that I need to go get some stuff from Rachel's. I used to listen to them back in HS and basically totally forgot about them until recently. I think I had the albums The Sea and the Bells and Systems/Layers.
8/2/2010 2:39:41 PM
man fuck me - been waiting for this show for a month at least:MON, AUG 2BorisSAADERussian Circles**Due to unforeseen circumstances, Russian Circles will not be able to play
8/2/2010 2:53:43 PM
yea they had an accident in LA over the weekend. I thought they made it to the GA date yesterday though so I figured they might make it to NC too but maybe none of that ended up working out.
8/2/2010 2:55:48 PM
^^ Oh goodness. I was considering this show
8/2/2010 3:18:34 PM

I don't even give a fuck if anyone cares:I went to DC on Sunday to see Godspeed at the 9:30 Club. For years I was convinced it would never happen, but I actually saw GYBE. I am not even sure it has 100% sunk in yet.Holy. Shit.
3/23/2011 1:35:45 AM
i saw gybe at the cradle in 03. i think i prefer silver mt zion. though both are great.

Explosions In the Sky 4/3 in Charlotte! Too bad their new album = I love the genre...but with about 50-60 different artists on my computer I'm finding it *really* tough to continually find anything really good and wonder where the genre can actually go. My rotation as of late...Ef - Give Me Beauty...Or Give Me DeathThe Evpatoria Report - Maar...and Stars Collide - s/tJoy Wants Eternity - You Who Pretend To Sleep[Edited on March 24, 2011 at 7:02 AM. ^the new EitS has really grown on me. Nothing on it really blows me away, but it's slowly getting better with each repeat.
3/24/2011 10:05:32 AM
Amazing. Also, This Will Destroy You's new album Tunnel Blanket is VERY good. Different from other stuff they've done, it honestly sounds like they listened to a shitload of Godspeed and then recorded an album.Live video of them performing at SXSW.http://bcove.me/lquffqh7
3/24/2011 9:14:55 PM
cannot wait for the new TWDY album]
3/24/2011 10:41:21 PM
It leaked yesterday on what.I've been listening to it all day.
3/24/2011 11:09:00 PM
^ Whaaaaa??? I've been waiting for that for ages. ty.[Edited on March 25, 2011 at 8:36 AM. Reason : d]
3/25/2011 8:36:14 AM
^ agreed
3/25/2011 9:52:51 AM
agree with the godspeed reference. tunnel blanket is better than some of the "higher profile" post-rock release this year (EITS, mogwai, etc.).
3/27/2011 2:53:22 PM
That's tough. The Mogwai album is one of my favorites this year, and I'm really really liking EITS, but I haven't been able to stop listening to Tunnel Blanket.
3/28/2011 1:14:12 AM
listening to the latest SXSW All Songs Considered podcast and they just played a pretty great song by a band I'd never heard before, The Calm Blue Seaanybody a fan?
3/28/2011 1:38:19 AM
that Rano Pano song on the new Mogwai is one of my favorites of the year
3/28/2011 10:48:55 AM
i heard someone say once that PIL was the first true post-rock band. i don't know if that is true, but i love this song:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnBq98uUJE4
3/28/2011 11:45:47 AM
Listening to TWDY's new one for the first time around, and while a good change of pace it seems like it's all over the map. Communal Blood sounds like it was straight off of Lift Your Skinny Fists..., Glass Realms had me thinking I was listening to a Gas or Stars Of the Lid record, and the opener sounded like a slightly more mellow version of Pelican. I like the way they're headed on this one (I.E. away from the stupid damn drum machine samples that they had in their last work), but I think this could be a lot better if it felt more like an album to me rather than a collection of songs. Not a requirement for me from all bands, but if I'm putting on post-rock I like to feel like for there to be that much disparity in the sound. [Edited on March 28, 2011 at 9:13 PM. Reason : herpes]

I often wonder if there are any women in the entire world that listen to or participate in post rock.
