Saying the oil rig disaster is analagous to Katrina is like saying that the way you handed a forest fire slowly approaching your house is the same as if your house suddenly exploded.
5/3/2010 1:58:03 PM
agreed. it is nothing like Katrina. silly comparison.

its plausible that an environmentalist, in order to make a broader point, would sabotage an oil rig to raise awareness, public ire, etc...not saying this is the case here, but it is certainly possible.
5/3/2010 8:49:14 PM
what would you call the odds of something like that? just because something is POSSIBLE doesn't make it a valid point to consider. and there's been no evidence to lend any support to this wild conspiracy theory.

Optimum has to be trolling. Everyone knows the millenniums-old "attack yourself to malign your enemy" trick. How could Optimum have never heard of that? -- or is it that just because Limbaugh said it, he has to ridicule it? Either way, dumb.

Has Rush blamed the floods in Nashville on the president yet saying that Obama hates white people? I mean, the media really has dropped the ball covering the extent of the devastation but I would think even El Rushmo wouldn't pass up this low hanging fruit.
5/6/2010 9:09:40 AM
well the floods are very obviously the media's fault.
5/6/2010 9:42:01 AM
To be fair about my article above ^^^, Brown was also on MSNBC and CNN on the same day.WHY THE FUCK did they let that stupid motherfucker comment on anything? His comments on the subject are not worthy to be aired, never mind live segments.

It's also possible that a whale ran into the pipe. Why isn't that possibility being reported? Damn biased media.
5/8/2010 11:01:21 AM
we have already been through this part of the discussion, I provided a link about radical environmentalism and you didnt respond. [link]http:// http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radical_environmentalism[/link]again, possible. evidently not the case here, though.
5/8/2010 11:44:16 AM
Limbaugh is either a retard and/or makes his money by retards listening to him.nothing new to see here..
5/8/2010 12:25:56 PM
^^ There was no reason to respond. Evidence of prior crimes is not evidence of current possible crimes. Linking to Wikipedia in support of spurious and wild possibilities does not make them more reasonable.
5/8/2010 1:20:47 PM
you asked for evidence of such events, I provided, you brush off as completely improbable.this is silly anyway and doesnt really matter. being stubborn is fun.

I am amazed that it has taken so long to stop the leak. I admit, when I first heard of the leak I thought it would be contained in a week or so. This is crazy that here we are, so many weeks later, with our thumbs still squarely up our asses.
5/19/2010 10:56:42 AM
uh, it's not stopped yet lol

I would think if we had a solution it would be implemented, considering the damage its going to do to our coastlines...so we also have our thumbs up our asses
5/19/2010 12:17:42 PM
Okay, now if you weren't angry about the oil spill... this ought to make everyone angry:Transocean made $270M profit from insurance payouthttp://www.marketwatch.com/story/transocean-made-270m-profit-from-insurance-payout-2010-05-09
5/19/2010 1:15:44 PM
I suppose if I were a stock holder of the insurance company I would be angry, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be angry about here as an every day citizen. They had insurance on the rig, apparently a stated value policy, the rig was destroyed, the insurance paid out. The fact that people died is indeed tragic, but that doesn't change the conditions of the insurance contract. And while the rig itself may have only been worth X dollars, it probably will cost much more than X dollars to replace the rig and lost revenue from the rig, hence why the policy was probably for more than actual value of the rig.Put it this way, you buy a massively expensive car and insure it. You know the moment you drove the car off the lot, the actual value of the car we decreased by 20%. You call your insurance company an work out a stated value policy so that even if you get into a wreck tomorrow or a year from now, you'll be able to take the check from the insurance company and buy a new car off the lot. 2 years from now, after you put 40,000 miles on your car, you get into a wreck. As a result of this wreck, 4 adults and 2 kids died. Should your insurance company only pay you the actual value of your car because some people died even though you've been paying premiums on a stated value?
5/19/2010 1:39:44 PM
lets talk about their "profit" after all the fines are levied and lawsuits settled. they will likely need every penny of that if not more.
