"What's the most recent ep that was shown on BBCA?"

I think it was the Dream Lord ep based on what a friend of mine told me. He said something about they didn't have a new ep Saturday before last, and Vampires of Venice was the last ep he saw.

are any of y'all actually watching from across the pond? It always seems like some people are ahead of the series and I dont know if that is because y'all are actually in the UK or if you are watching it online.

If you are watching it online i would like to know how. I have not looked, but I would guess iTunes might have new episodes before BBCA.

I imagine most download torrents. They come out shortly after the show airs in the UK.

My fav ep so far was the dream lord ep.

I check them out through this site:

http://www.ninjavideo.net/tvshows

You have to run their player in order to view shows, but they are usually posted the same night they air, whether in the UK or here in the States.

Yeah, that was pretty much my reaction as well. I can only assume they did that for a very good reason.

Starting to really like these newer stories. Matt's portrayal is beginning to even out a bit, and the more recent stories are reminiscent of some written by Russell T. Davies. Definitely capturing the mood without some of the bombast.

Also, footy on Doctor Who? lawl.

I was really glad to see the Daleks make their return. Now, just give me a "my vision is impaired! I cannot see!" in the next Dalek episode and I'll be happy.

And changed! Although I wish they'd kept the gold-colored props. Those things just looked badass on screen.

Eh, the Dreamlord episode kinda took the punch out of the end of Cold Blood.

Finished watching the season now. Maybe it wasn't the best season of Doctor Who start-to-finish, but I don't want to wait a year for the next season

Ah well, I guess there's always the Christmas Special to look forward to.

Also, I've seen people call some episodes from this series the worst episode of Doctor Who ever (not necessarily people here). It's a pretty ridiculous claim, the worst episode of Doctor Who ever (imo) was from the Peter Davison era and called "Kinda" (although in all fairness I haven't seen the entirety of the Colin Baker era yet).

Wow. I dug the Musee d'orsay scene. My wife and I were just there last week, which made it extra cool.

Maybe you're the only one who hasn't seen it to still check this thread. Some people decided to steer clear because spoilers were being posted after the eps were shown on the BBC.

ah, word. Well, i'm totally psyched for this weekend though.

Serendipitously, I found a link to springfieldpunx in another thread and he has some cool Doctor Who animations this week.

The season finale wasn't as good as I hoped.

It was one of those episodes that didn't feel like it stuck to its own rules.

The Doctor was going to be forgotten by everyone and only Amy could bring him back by remembering him. She has trouble. So River Song shows up to help her out...BUT HOW DOES SHE REMEMBER THE DOCTOR? AND WHY DOESN'T HER MEMORY OF THE DOCTOR BRING HIM BACK???

That was just the *most* annoying thing. The fact that the earth's sun went super nova and didn't destroy the earth was also annoying along with a lot of other things.

Over all, the 5th season was pretty good. And the second to last episode was really good, I thought.

Oh and another thing. If every star in the sky were to explode at the same time, we wouldn't *see* them all explode at once (as depicted in the show). Stars that are further away would appear to explode later than stars that were close to us because it would take longer for the light to reach us. So really, stars wouldn't just disappear over night. We would see them exploding for thousands of years (i think i read once that the farthest star we can see is over 4,000 light years away).

But thats just a minor point. The scene where they all exploded looked pretty cool.
