4/1/2010 9:03:26 AM

4/1/2010 9:06:34 AM

4/1/2010 9:06:49 AM
sweet.... got the $120 wrist band. it's just too good of a value.thanks to vinylbandit for the 'on sale' timehad to grab mine solo --- i can't afford to wait on folks to make up their minds. i know i'll get to see the shows i want to see, at least.[Edited on April 1, 2010 at 9:07 AM. Reason : .]
4/1/2010 9:06:53 AM
i wonder how many of the vip tickets there actually are.considering how many times they mention the limited quantityor if that's an advertising schemeeither way, tww spottings alert lulz
4/1/2010 9:08:21 AM
since i'm going to be driving 8 hours for this . . . i don't want to entertain the possibility of going solo.
4/1/2010 9:08:35 AM
4/1/2010 9:09:31 AM
shoot.. now i wish i had bought VIPs.
4/1/2010 9:09:58 AM
sept is just so far awayyyyyyoh well. its not like i could enjoy it this summer so really it is perfect timing for my life. and something to look forward to!
4/1/2010 9:12:06 AM
what does VIP get you?? I want to go, I'm pretty sure. It'll be fun, and there are several acts I'd love to see. I'll need to pal up with some of you guys to keep my itinerary straight.nevermind, I'll be in Albuquerque.[Edited on April 1, 2010 at 9:14 AM. Reason : fuck.]
4/1/2010 9:13:39 AM
i guess i should've said friends who wouldn't already be doing that anyway
4/1/2010 9:15:00 AM
the VIP is pretty much the same thing as the $85 tickets, you get a pass to ever show, but it lets you skip lines and there's some pre-party the night before it startsprobably not worth the $35 difference, but i went for it anyway
4/1/2010 9:15:08 AM
it could very well not be worth itbut if i get an extra half an hour of music every night by not having to stand in lines, it'll be worth it
4/1/2010 9:17:32 AM
I've spent $35 on a lot dumber shit than upgrading to avoid lines. Not to mention, if you show up and they're getting near capacity at one of the smaller venues, it'll be worth it to skip the existing line and ensure you get in.
4/1/2010 9:30:25 AM
4/1/2010 10:09:20 AM
just got an 85$ pass --vinylbandit, me and meredith will gladly tromp around from club to club with you if you wantthis is gonna be the shit
4/1/2010 10:24:32 AM
in my head i'm gonna be on my bike, going to slim's for half an hour and then over to kings for twenty minutes than to tir na nog for three songs and back to slim's, etc.we'll see if that happens
4/1/2010 10:30:48 AM
2 VIP tickets bought. Can't wait. Also, I think skipping lines will be worth it because of the capacity thing previously mentioned. And if it isn't, it might be worth it anyway for peace of mind when the schedule comes out and Bear in Heaven plays at 11:30 at the Pour House and Megafaun plays at 12:15 at the new Kings.
4/1/2010 11:18:08 AM
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.Just bought 2 VIPs. I don't really have $240 laying around, so it was a hard trigger to pull, but I'm glad I did it. If anybody needs a reasonably priced handy, let me know.
4/1/2010 11:19:15 AM
^Definitely a hard trigger to pull. Luckily, I still had a little bit of money saved from my tax return. Here's to taxpayers' dollars going to live music festivals!!! Well, actually my taxpaying dollars...[Edited on April 1, 2010 at 11:23 AM. Reason : .]

didn't read this whole thread yet, but where do you find out about all the individual shows? or have they not been released...as in who's playing where, when, what night[Edited on April 1, 2010 at 12:29 PM. Reason : .]
4/1/2010 12:28:51 PM
^The only shows that have been announced as far as when and where are the City Plaza shows. On Friday night, it's The Rosebuds/Panda Bear/Broken Social Scene and on Saturday night, The Love Language/No Age/Public Enemy. I believe the Indy article also said that the Future Islands/Javelin/Pictureplane show would be Thursday night, but not where it would be.
4/1/2010 1:13:21 PM
just got this from Facebook "The Thrashitorium Hopscotch showcase will be Canniabis Corpse, Brutal Knights, Vincent Black Shadow & Plague @ Slims" Date TBAand i know the Megafaun show is gonna be a more experimental showcase... Jon Mueller, Ocean, Greg Davis, Keith Fullerton Whitman, Megafaun - at Kings
4/1/2010 1:16:15 PM
Not sure which night, but the Future Islands "band's bands" showcase is gonna be at the Berkeley, and will be EAR PWR/Double Dagger/Javelin/Pictureplane/Future Islands.
4/1/2010 2:17:22 PM
I pussed out and went with the $85 one. I'll wave to you guys as you pass me while standing in line
4/1/2010 3:06:28 PM
^did the same here. really doubt it's going to make a huge difference.
4/1/2010 5:30:44 PM
im hoping it makes quite the difference when trying to go to all these club shows.
4/1/2010 5:43:04 PM
it probably won't make a difference if you're not going to be running all over the place every night
4/1/2010 7:33:36 PM
can we get a grayson currin sighting on tww?dont make me call you out on facebook grayson
4/1/2010 7:42:11 PM
I think if you look in the mirror and say his name three times...
4/1/2010 7:46:27 PM
apparently grayson's last post here was in my thread about deyarmond edison. so. . . yeah. it has been a while.
4/1/2010 8:02:04 PM
he lurks
4/1/2010 8:06:25 PM
I'm excited about Panda Bear
4/2/2010 1:13:50 AM
i saw panda bear in a church, seated sanctuary show, summer of 2007.only lights in the place was a projector on him and behind him, illuminating the stained glass behind the pulpitit was completely amazingwhen i first saw the lineup i thought it should be pb->bss, but remembering the show, i think i'd want pb as late as possible, so bss->pb makes sense.i guess bss may be a bit more immediately palatable to the non-fan that may buy a random ticket too
4/2/2010 8:17:06 AM
hoping noah makes an appearance with bradford cox somewhere to play "walkabout"
4/2/2010 8:24:54 AM
90 VIP wristbands left.get 'em while they're still available.
4/2/2010 12:11:06 PM
do you know how many there were total?just curious as to how "limited" the quantities were
4/2/2010 1:10:12 PM
I need another job so that I can afford to buy all the tickets I want. I can't buy these right now because I'm buying like $75 worth of tickets for The Disco Biscuits, Conspirator, and the Mastodon/Between The Buried And Me shows that are in 2 weeks.
4/2/2010 1:50:47 PM
4/2/2010 5:23:55 PM
Just listened to that Double Dagger EP and it's really good. So that Future Islands/Javelin/Double Dagger/Pictureplane/EAR PWR show is going to completely rule. The first three bands all have really solid releases this year, and Pictureplane's album last year was good, too. Not too into EAR PWR, but 4/5 isn't bad at all.
4/3/2010 1:51:37 PM
^ Have you seen them live? Their stuff makes much more sense when it's pumping and they're in the middle of a crowd of dancers. I admit it's still not for everyone, but their stuff doesn't translate very well on record.
4/3/2010 4:31:25 PM
i feel like i've scoured this threadcan somebody give the post that has the date and/or a link?

4/3/2010 4:37:45 PM
I like Public Enemy, but I'm not sure I'd pay that much just to see them...
4/3/2010 4:40:49 PM
$30?
4/3/2010 4:45:15 PM
their set will be what, 45 minutes tops?
4/3/2010 4:59:42 PM
^^^You wouldn't pay $30 to see Public Enemy, arguably the greatest hip-hop group of all-time, PLUS No Age and The Love Language? You must be insane.^x7 If you're asking if I've seen EAR PWR live, no. But I will in about 5 months
4/3/2010 5:08:21 PM
PE is the only act I've ever heard of, out of 120 actsand no, $30 is too much to see them 20 years after their heyday[Edited on April 3, 2010 at 5:13 PM. Reason : i take that back, I've also heard of Ryan Gustafson]
