Yes, FINALLY. That shit was hidden very well... those sneaky bastards. Also got two more missle upgrades by spending 20 minutes trying to climb a wall with bombs. One of the most frustrating things in this game are the fake secrets. You blow open a hidden wall or floor and it just leads to nowhere.

The Ice Beam is the shit...all those hoppers and other things that normally frustrate you, you can just freeze them and jump over them if you want

don't accidentally (re)get the Wave Beam though, because then you'll have to get the Ice Beam back...although I'm pretty sure there is a 2nd statue thing with an Ice Beam somewhere near Ridley's lair

Gotta get the Spin Jump Attack upgrade. Makes the game much easier.

killed two bosses today. I got the one in the gray area that had been kicking my ass for so long. I did a complete frontal assault, constantly attacking him with bombs. He took out about 350 of my health but I got him. And then I found the red area boss, and he was easy. I just stood on the platform below him and wailed on him with missiles.

Kraid is the first dude who you bombed...he shot darts right?

Ridley is the 2nd...looks kinda like an alien from the Alien movies

Did killing them complete the bridge into the area near the start of the game?

I crossed the bridge. Is this the end area of the game? The floating jellyfish guys (Metroids) are tough but once you get the timing down, you can freeze and missle them. Isn't there some kind of armor upgrade you can get? Because I haven't found the other blaster, or that other jump attack or whatever either. I do have 220 max missles though. I'm at the room with all those guns shooting at you where you have to shoot missles to open the doors. Luckily it saves the doors I have blown open when I die.

There is some kind of armor upgrade...I think it looks like an atom or a nuclear 'icon' if you will

And yeah you want to get the Screw Attack also...while you are jumping you can't be damaged

But you have the right idea with the metroids...freeze them then missile them...and if they get stuck on you, roll into a ball and drop bombs

You know it fucking feels like an accomplishment when you take a picture of the end screen.

Man, when was the last time I did that. Oh right, Metroid Prime.

^Good choice. Best game ever made for the SNES.

Arguably the best game ever made, period. It's that good. Also, Prime is really good.

I'm worried that Other M is going to derail an excellent series.

Yeah me too, I have never played a Metroid game that I didn't like. Even that weird one on the DS that doesn't even have a metroid in it is pretty good.

I gotta get in on this real quick like. First, my vote for greatest game ever goes to SNES Link to the Past. Second, Battletoads may have been the hardest game ever made, I still haven't beaten it without the game genie.
