i'll go ahead and make shirts.

(sorry, repost)Josh went to Athens HS and supposedly was a State fan growing up. When he originally got an offer from Lowe, he said it was his dream to play for the Wolfpack. He'd return home to a welcoming fanbase and get a lots of minutes... probably be a starter. And he'd be playing with some talented but young guys. ... probably be a senior leader.(complete speculation, with no idea if this is even a possibility. but it would be pretty cool)Last year at Tulane he averaged 17.6 points, 10.7 rebounds, 72% FTs and 49% from the field. that's pretty impressive.

pull the trigger
4/2/2013 11:14:50 PM
one of only 9 players in NCAA to average a double double (Howell being an other)

I'm sure there are some Tulane fans who are pissed over losing their best player. (they're also losing their other best player and two reserves): http://www.sportsnola.com/sports/tulane/595357-ricky-tarrant-and-josh-davis-leaving-tulane-basketball-program.htmlI bet their message boards are blowing up right now.(again, I'm doubtful that Davis to State is even a possibility, just a bunch of speculatin'. but wouldn't that be some NC State Shit?)[Edited on April 2, 2013 at 11:34 PM. What are the cons?
4/3/2013 12:08:00 AM
HA, "probable starter". If Josh Davis comes here, he'll start from Day 1 at the 4. Now who starts next to him and what the rotation with Davis, Anya, and Washington would look like is anyone's guess, but Davis would absolutely be the sure-fire starter of those 3.Trying not to get my hopes up, but it would be a huge steal if we managed to get his services for a year.
4/3/2013 7:50:54 AM
Any substance to any of this, or is this just based on "he is transferring and use to live and play here"?Has anyone even said it was a possibility and wouldnt he sit out a year anyway?
4/3/2013 8:38:58 AM
Grad student transfer so he could play immediately wherever he goes
4/3/2013 8:42:58 AM
This kid brought hustle and has shown the ability to lead a team and score. I would love to have him here. Cmon Gott, get him back!
4/3/2013 9:07:06 AM
I heard this on the 99.9 on Mark and Mike. I think Mark mentioned that Davis could be a transfer option. Awesome if true as we could obviously use a high motor, senior leader that can play a forward position.
4/3/2013 9:18:30 AM
I just can't see him returning here afte transferring before even though the coach has changed.Hopecl I'm wrong.
4/3/2013 9:21:53 AM
Why not? He got recruited over by the old coach. He's from Raleigh and apparently grew up a State fan. I would even think a little of, "look at me now, I can play with you fuckers", might be involved in there.Other than the name of the program, everything is different. Well, except for maybe Levi Watkins. Hopefully they don't have beef.
4/3/2013 9:23:41 AM
Because I've never heard of that happening. It'd be a weird situation. We can certainly use him and he has turned himself into a legit high major guy so I hope it happens.Saw Alabama and Iowa State are interested.
4/3/2013 9:25:55 AM
why did he transfer in the first place?
4/3/2013 9:42:30 AM
tryna make the league bruh
4/3/2013 9:44:20 AM
He got a late offer in '09 as a local project. That class also had Howell, Wood, Lorenzo*, Painter and Vandenburg. He got some minutes here and there, and played well for the minutes he got. Leading into his sophomore year, we had CJL signed, Tracy Smith still had 2 years to play, and Horner still had one. With those guys, and Howell and Painter also likely in front of him, I assume he knew that he'd probably see the court even less his sophomore year. So if he wanted to play and improve his game, he needed to transfer to a smaller school. speculation. and i haven't seen or heard anything creditable about him coming here, but it would make sense

4/3/2013 12:08:14 PM
seriously, people don't know why he transferred?he was behind wood/howell/leslie/painter and all them on the depth chart. basically all minutes he got his freshman year would be non-existent for the rest of his career here.
4/3/2013 2:07:54 PM
also, in his sophomore year he was also going to be behind smith for 2 years, and horner for 1. he was a late project offer, i don't think he had any other major offers. he went to tulane, put work in, and appears to have become a BALLER[Edited on April 3, 2013 at 2:21 PM. Reason : ]
4/3/2013 2:19:33 PM
actually in his soph year, Horner already graduated and Smith was a senior.
4/3/2013 2:53:06 PM
thanks, i stand corrected.
4/3/2013 2:55:23 PM
so is there any real information on him transferring back, or is this just hopeful thinking?
4/3/2013 3:37:13 PM
I think it's a lot of hopeful thinking, but we'll at least get a shot. I'm sure he'll at least listen to see what other top programs are after him, but we should be strongly in the mix. Would love to have him back. His biggest issue was lack of size and he's grown a few inches since he was here.Would be an awesome homecoming.
4/3/2013 3:45:33 PM
with our luck, State will have included some clause in his transfer release stipulating that he can never transfer back
4/3/2013 3:47:05 PM
averaging 9 points, 11.5 rebounds for #5 San Diego St (although shooting less than 50% from the field and the foul line)
1/27/2014 3:31:44 PM
damn, I made a lot of good threads back in the day
1/27/2014 7:13:09 PM
Your threads are the best
1/27/2014 8:41:49 PM
You were advocating he start over Tracy Smith, Richard Howell, CJ Leslie & Deshawn Painter? He probably started for Tulane in 2011-2012.
