damn, I just realized that baonest is back.

again, "good" all season tires aren't "designed" for the snow. A 2WD car on snow tires is better than an AWD car on all season tires.
2/4/2010 10:00:29 PM
snow tires are well worth it
2/4/2010 10:12:13 PM
H8R and I have plenty of videos to attest to that truth.
2/4/2010 10:23:40 PM
well now you're just being difficult TEG. lol. I'm not an enthusiast but I have this weird hard-on for imprezas. That's where it stands. Is 5-6K worth the WRX if I don't really utilize the HP all that much? Is the 2.5i that much of a downgrade, or are many components of the car similiar making it not so big a compromise?
2/4/2010 11:55:55 PM
Really depends on what you're gonna use it forif all you do is drive it A-B, work, home, gym, target, get the 2.5isounds like it will be more than enough for what you want
2/5/2010 12:00:04 AM
I would buy the WRX. Boost is hilarious. You can get another 70hp a year from now for 20$. Thank me later.
2/5/2010 12:19:54 AM
I ended up taking TKE's advice and went with the 2.5i. Honestly, I'm pretty happy about the decision...I have no doubt I wouldn't take care of a WRX the way it should.....and the NA engine is still pretty good for anything not racing or rallying. I can pass people, gun it, etc just fine. In fact, it's got a ton of pep still....the engine still has a really distinctive rumble to it - I can't explain it.Here's a couple of snaps. Thanks everyone for the feedback, it helped me in deciding...[Edited on February 7, 2010 at 11:14 AM. Reason : -]

Congrats
2/7/2010 12:18:26 PM
Congrats, a fine looking vehicle
2/7/2010 12:42:41 PM
only thing I would do is take a hair dryer to those stripes or have the dealer remove em. I've always found em tacky
2/7/2010 1:53:33 PM
I'm kind of indifferent to them...they seem hard to peel off, are they not?
2/7/2010 2:20:00 PM
So I see you decided to buy a 1995 Hyundai instead. Great cars! Here's mine:
2/7/2010 2:48:31 PM
that 2.5i would actually make a good rallyx car, seeing as how it does not have a turbono turbo is really good, due to the lack of laggood choice
2/7/2010 3:29:18 PM
Good choice Kainen. I wasn't trying to be hard on you, it just seemed like chosing the WRX would be a waste on money based on what you wanted/needed.But again good choice, better than a boring cookie cutter Honda/Hyundai/Toyota.
2/7/2010 3:57:09 PM
It looks EXACTLY like a boring cookie cutter hyundai...from 15 years ago. Subaru has the absolute worst designers in the entire car industry. Even Fiats are...um...interesting:
2/7/2010 4:00:55 PM
congrats buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!
2/7/2010 4:14:50 PM
I think subaru designs look good for 09/10' why you gotta hate on my car man?
2/7/2010 4:15:29 PM
use cheap dental floss to remove a pinstripe. it works great.
2/7/2010 5:08:48 PM
60 grit sandpaper will take that pinstripe right off.
2/7/2010 5:19:59 PM
I'm sorry, I was drunk. It's a handsome and capable car, no tacky hood scoops or bug-eye headlights. Roofline is a little low, but still better than any sedan. It should do the job for you.
2/7/2010 10:23:26 PM
its a sensible wagon for nurses and gay flight attendants, kind of like how old people wear velcro shoes
2/8/2010 12:36:41 AM
what did I say about station wagons and dignity...
2/8/2010 1:06:25 AM
or how about rednecks and white trash in their ratty ass pickup trucks. We can do this all day.
2/8/2010 1:06:49 AM
2/8/2010 9:34:05 AM
I think he meant to say
2/8/2010 9:41:00 AM
Sure bro. Whatever makes you feel better. Unequal headers give it the low rumble? It's a sexy ass sound....as opposed to my Honda Civic's high pitched whine
2/8/2010 9:43:47 AM
boxer enginecivic engine
2/8/2010 11:20:01 AM
I'm sorry. Are we comparing a civic to an Impreza?
2/8/2010 1:05:45 PM
^^^
2/8/2010 1:22:33 PM
Im with SMC on this one, anyone who thinks that car looks cool is seriously fucked up
2/8/2010 9:07:27 PM
I drive by southern states every day and it boggles me that the Subaru and VW lots are so empty. Is there a story behind that?
2/8/2010 9:24:20 PM
STis are not comfortable at all to ride in, I do not suggest getting one unless you know what you're after. If you dont mind the abusive ride, then they are insanely awesome fun. Also, the insurance is outrageous
2/8/2010 10:20:45 PM
Dude I don't get it - everyone has different tastes...I think the cars you recondition in your photo gallery all look pretty hideous too but I don't go out of my way to rub your face in shit bro. Well at least not until you starting just trolling me for an unknown reason. Have some tact? [Edited on February 8, 2010 at 10:34 PM. Reason : balls]

2/8/2010 10:44:04 PM
^ is this real quotes? or estimates from the website? i dont know anyone with an STi who is paying less than 2x that amount, the price you have isnt bad at all
2/8/2010 10:51:28 PM
^All I've ever heard about WRXs is that their insurance is disproportionately high, though I've never owned one thus never gotten a quote. I've heard S2000s also have high insurance but I don't think mine is super high. And honestly, to each his own...however I think the current generation Imprezas are ugly as hell. If I had my mind set on a Subaru I'd buy a used one. No way I'd buy a new one.Of course, I feel the same way about the Evo, BMWs, just about all Hondas, all Toyotas, etc etc.

2/9/2010 1:34:04 PM
^ im in pretty much the same situation, USAA, homeowners through them, totally clean driving record, etci did a web quote on a '10 sti and the bastards quoted me $167 a month, ridiculous
2/9/2010 11:17:08 PM
For reference, I'm paying GEICO $45/month ($1K deductible) on my '04 wrx ... perfect driving record.
2/10/2010 12:13:42 AM
I'm paying around $90/mo for my S2000 (clean record). $250 deductible on collision, $0 on glass/vandalism. I say around $90 b/c I also insure the GS-R with the same policy.
2/10/2010 8:40:15 AM
are these rates liability only?
2/10/2010 9:49:49 AM
2/10/2010 10:31:15 AM
I'm paying $30/month on the car, $8/month on the bike.
2/10/2010 11:37:39 AM
I'm paying $200/mo for 3 cars... fuck me!Granted, it's like ~$50/mo for the Porsche, ~$30/mo for the Mazda, then $120/mo for the Lexus... But damn! I hear it helps a lot once you get past 25 years old...
2/10/2010 11:39:54 AM
Not really. Mine went up.
2/10/2010 11:43:00 AM
I'm about to turn 25 in a couple days. I doubt the rate will go down though.
2/10/2010 11:57:13 AM
depends on your driving record, if you're married or single and if you have a house or not with themi'm sure there are other factors too
2/11/2010 1:24:24 AM
fyi southern states has a white wrx hatchback limited right now. they had an sti but sold it last weekend.but good luck getting to drive it. it's had 19 miles on it when i got there...and i talked my way into a test drive and it had 20 when i got back i had a friend go and try to drive it earlier and i guess they read right through him cause they were all like "we're trying to keep the miles low, and don't want people to drive it unless theyre interested in buying it today." never been the biggest fan of that dealership anyway (saying it nicely). i bought a used car from them 4-5 years ago...the sticker was something like 17.5k...and i "talked them down" to 16k...while sitting in the lounge waiting to sign papers i thumbed through the newspaper and saw the exact car i was buying advertised for $15,999 in the paper got another $400 off for that little gem. i'm actually [still] in the market though...and i wasn't impressed. sure it's fast as hell and fun to drive, but it's a $30k car that feels like a $13k car on the inside. i'd rather sacrifice a few hp and get something that doesn't have a complete shit interior. for the time being it's german cars for me...as long as they're in warranty i will say the evo mr felt much more like a 30k+ car on the inside though...i drove an 08 at hendrick dodge (think they might still have it) and was very impressed by the build quality/materials on the inside. obviously not nearly as nice/solid as a german car though.]

Go for a 2007-2008 A4 S-Line Titanium CPO from Leith with the warranty, cant go wrong with that
