Other than getting engaged this summer, my year was pretty average

Beginning of it was pretty average, things started turning really awesome around April, I'd say. Played some fun video games, had a really shitty roommate, kicked ass in the spring semester. Went to Disney with a great friend for spring break. Finally got out of the relationship that would never go away, and did it maturely (on my end at least). Made a bunch of awesome new friends. Met the man of my dreams. Interned at the Biltmore Estate and had a baller time in Asheville. Started playing D&D (nerd alert). Got even closer with my sister. Performed in NCSU theater, which was high on my "to do before I graduate" list. Halloween was a blast. Finished out the school year strong and finally graduated last weekend. I procured an awesome job. Moved in with above mentioned man of my dreams into an kick ass downtown loft. Christmas will be fun-filled with Fedex delivering and time with the family.

I'd say its been a premium year. I know how lucky I am- I've found all of the things I've ever wanted. I'm glad to see so many other people had good years too! :-)

overall my year trended continually upward and onward. things changed a lot in many aspects of my life (job/relationship), all immensely positive. things went so well i can honestly say the worst part of my year was an ankle/foot injury in july that hampered my fitness schedule for about 3 months, but it wasnt even that bad, just chronic and annoying. closing out the year with a promotion at an already new job, a new relationship that seems wonderful so far, and great friends to enjoy it all with.

2009 was a solid A for me.

here are my ramblings about 2009 - for the past 10 years or so - every year has gotten better for me

started it off in london for new years which was amazing

i've become a bit more of a wine connoisseur

memorial day in puerto vallarta

worked in nyc for the first half of the year - nyc on an expense budget isn't too shabby

left ibm in june and started a new job with a startup in july which was an amazing career move thus far

traveling less which is both good and bad - it's nice to be home more but i actually have an office i have to go into all the time now and i miss traveling sometimes

we had a little mice issue that was fun for a few weeks

made some really great new friends in atlanta - that aren't in my neighborhood finally

only week-long vacation this year was july 4th at my parents' lake house - always relaxing

bought world cup tix and planned a 10 day trip to south africa for next year - including a 3 night safari

had lasik done - so did my wife

Best year of my life, I would have to say. Lost a lot of weight in late 2008/early 2009, fitness level has been improving since and I feel better than I ever have. Graduated and got a job. Saved/invested a lot of money. Feels good to not be in school for the first time. The stress is gone, because I'm not constantly having to worry about what test or project is about to be due. Go to work, get paid, get off, and forget about until the next day.

^ehhh, so you do the 8 hr days ehhh? You will soon learn that just doing the typical 40 hrs a week will keep you at your present job and present salary forever, while the coworkers who were hired at the same time become your supervisor....

- Finally graduated
- Got a great job not even a week out of college (thought I would be unemployed for a looooong while, considering the economy)
- Got married

The whole year has been a blur but has been fantastic. It feels like life is finally going somewhere. The last few years has felt very stagnant, so it's great to be on the up and up.

Much better than 2008. I haven't made anything less than a B in school and I've taken 18 hours both semesters. I had a successful internship this past summer and was asked to come back again...with a raise. I was also asked to TA for a class within the department, which is great because I like being a TA but E115 was starting to irritate me. I swear those kids get dumber every year. I've moved on from my on-again/off-again ex and I'm dating other people. I live with people I actually get along with. I've gotten close to some really great friends and took a few trips this year: Sweden, Ocracoke Island, & NYC. I'd say it was a successful, grade A year.

This has been a pretty crappy year.

1. My fiancée dumps me, moves to another country with the guy she cheated on me with, marries him, and is expecting a kid next month.

2. Had the other half of my arm cut off so it's nothing but a useless nub now. Had months of physical therapy and still have lots of pain and especially those so-called phantom pains.

3. One of my good friends died a few months ago.

Here's to a good 2010

In the interest of time, I'll be brief - this was a wildly inconsistent year for me. I got to enjoy highs and mull over lows without much coast time in between. I could never just ride a high for an extended time, but I never got to wallow in my lows either.

Did some traveling, upheld a vow I kept to myself, weight is about the same , and suddenly there are no women I'm serious about on the horizon. I've done okay financially and held the same job all year. Grew my friendships some more and gained more people than I lost.

All-in-all, I'd give this year a 6.5 - had room to be better, but there was generally more good than bad.

- Got engaged and married to the man of my dreams
- Moved out of Fayettenam and down to Lake Waccamaw
- Had an overall easy job change (although I miss my old job like crazy just can't stomach the 1hr+ drive one way)

Overall a solid A year

I take this back. This year waited until the very last day for it all to come crashing back down. Screw 2009.

This ranks in the top three of the worst years of my life.

The only thing good about it is I was gainfully employed. That's it.

Only reason career doesn't get an F is at least it's a paycheck so I could be doing worse in that regard.
