weren't the beatles never even that great of a live band to begin with?
12/17/2009 11:17:58 PM
Guns 'N Roses, Alice in Chains, and Pearl Jam would definitely be on the short list. Maybe Jimi Hendrix, Grateful Dead, or the Beatles, too. I'm not convinced the Stones or Pink Floyd would be much different now in their prime than they are now.^ they were early on in the sense that they were a cultural phenomenon. Later, they weren't a live band at all...they quit touring, partially/largely in order to free themselves up to go nuts doing crazy stuff (for the time) in the studio that they couldn't really reproduce in a live show (although that never seemed to be a problem for Pink Floyd).[Edited on December 18, 2009 at 12:49 AM. I used to love Blues Traveler, until their last 3 or so shitty albums. I would have loved to see them before they started sucking so hard, but alas, I never had the money or transportation. Also, the Talking Heads, though in this case by "during their peak" I mean "when they existed."

The Stones' performance films, in order of importance, are as follows:1. Cocksucker Blues2. Gimme Shelter3. The Rolling Stones' Rock 'n' Roll Circus (which is only worth watching for the Who, but still)That is all.

You don't have to like it. Thats why its MY list.
12/19/2009 11:01:05 PM
Let me be a little more clear about the Paul Oakenfold choice. It has more to do with the venues/clubs and the environment he was performing in and the crowds back around 2000 that was supposed to be so badass in addition to his set lists.[Edited on December 19, 2009 at 11:38 PM. Reason : /]
