That alarms me more than anything else. It wasn't that the professor had thought this change out ahead of time, it had to do with how s/he "felt" that day---that to me seems like a legitimate grievance. I'd go to the department head (after break) and at least air your concern.


Maybe nothing will come of it, or maybe something will. If I were you I'd present it to the dept head as a "I think you should know about this" situation as opposed to a "this wasn't fair to ME and I want a higher grade" attitude.

I'm pretty sure he's trying to deal with it. Life isn't fair, but that doesn't mean you should just let things happen to you without trying to make it right it some way.
