no, thats not what I am saying. Go take some pictures, I am tired of arguing with you.
12/13/2009 6:10:28 PM
OH MAN, HIT ME WHERE IT HURTS.I know arguing when you're clearly wrong can be tiring. It's tough to argue that 3>5. I understand.[Edited on December 13, 2009 at 6:20 PM. Reason : Though I don't understand your arguing for UF, beyond more SEC slurpage.]
12/13/2009 6:19:09 PM
if we were just comparing National Championships, then you would be correct 5 > 3 is all that matters, but there a lot more than that to consider as far as overall program. Minnesota has 6 National Championships, Penn State has 2... therefore Minnesota is better? no.You put Miami in the SEC and they wouldnt have 5, thats the point. In the middle of their dominant years they beat some good teams in the SEC but also got their ass kicked by average teams in the SEC - Sugar Bowl against Tennessee for example, a big time underdog Tennessee team beat the fuck out of Miami (35-7) who just had to win for a National Championship. They are 18 games under .500 against the SEC, with a 500+ point differential. So therefore you cant just go by National Championships. I am not "pulling for Florida" or whatever you called it, I hate Florida, but they are better looking at the numbers and the competition. They werent until this recent run, but that run AND past performance pushed them ahead of Miami in my eyes[Edited on December 13, 2009 at 6:35 PM. Reason : d]

Alright, I'm watching this right now...Coming from a Notre Dame-backing family, I thought "the U" was a bunch of pieces of shit. I understand the racial aspect of this team. But come the fuck on. We know about the pay-for-play stuff, and we know it ran deeper than that (more than likely, but I'm sure someone who thought their act was TOTALLY KOOL will blast me for that, but they weren't convicts for nothing). If you're going to lionize these guys for being brash and cocky and bending rules and stuff, then be fair and lionize Jerry Tarkanian too.I could care less about ND these days, but the Redskin fan in me still hates these guys for having Jimmy Johnson. The only coach I dislike more is probably Barry Switzer.[Edited on December 13, 2009 at 11:01 PM. Reason : .]
12/13/2009 11:00:34 PM
What? This documentary was pretty level-headed and brutally honest.
12/13/2009 11:01:24 PM
I guess what stands out to me is all the cocky ex-players going on about how "bad" they were. ooooh, scary guys in camo! too bad like 90% of them are in jail now.
12/13/2009 11:02:24 PM
"scary guys in camo" fail miserably if I'm not mistaken, and they show it.
12/13/2009 11:03:59 PM
12/13/2009 11:25:36 PM
Florida ducked out of the series once Miami was kicking their ass on an annual basis.FYI
12/14/2009 2:38:24 AM
I personally would rather watch "The Junction Boys" over this any time. Alabama during the reign of Bear Bryant is a lot more interesting to me than Miami ever could be.
12/14/2009 5:40:33 AM
Ratings disagree.
12/16/2009 3:51:55 AM
I watched some of this last night. Pretty good film, but it makes me hate Miami more seeing how the washed up old players are still arrogant assholes even though they make $8 an hour now washing cars for Cuban drug dealers.
12/16/2009 10:18:27 AM
^^ is English your second language? he said "I personally" so the ratings have nothing to do with it...and ABBA sold more records than Led Zeppelin, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, and Frank Sinatra... doesn't mean they are better, I personally would rather listen to all of them before ABBA
12/16/2009 10:36:34 AM
12/16/2009 10:44:50 AM
sorry "Dancing Queen"
12/16/2009 11:02:46 AM
^^^What is even remotely incorrect about what I posted? Ratings disagree with his opinion. I was really just posting posting the stat. You should probably learn to chill out.[Edited on December 16, 2009 at 11:49 AM. Reason : .]
12/16/2009 11:43:56 AM
No, the numbers dont say that... Junction Boys wasnt a documentary, so saying that "the numbers disagree" when comparing "the number one documentary" to what he said was wrong. And even if they were the same category that doesnt necessarily mean that people preferred it, could just mean more watched it due to a lot of other factors (bigger ESPN audience now than when Junction Boys came out, advertised more, it was shorter in length, time of the year, time it came on etc.)Point is you cant compare the two directly in order to dispute his opinion that he would rather watch Junction Boys
12/16/2009 1:22:16 PM
Quit jacking off to the Junction BoysA Season on the Brink and Hustle were far superior
12/16/2009 1:32:52 PM
got me, I'm ignorant about junction boys. but the point remains, this is a very well made documentary that broke ratings records (which is an accomplishment and not really all that comparable to records sales), I'm not sure why you insist on being so contrary.
12/16/2009 4:02:34 PM
^^ I didnt even really like the Junction Boys[Edited on December 16, 2009 at 5:06 PM. Reason : d]

Arguing about television ratings is some hooksaw-level shit.
12/16/2009 5:09:51 PM
I'm not claiming that the ratings upgrade the quality. I'm not claiming anything. I posted a quote. I'm not sure if ^ is directed at me. So I'm going to back out of this thread quietly for now. i h8 U2.

^^^ average compared to the top ranked teams in the country, not in the SEC... Tennessee was a huge underdog in that gameI know, I know, its hard to imagine, but yes, at times even the SEC is down...[Edited on December 18, 2009 at 5:22 PM. Reason : d]
12/18/2009 5:17:47 PM
What other average teams in the SEC "kicked" Miami's ass during their dominant years?
12/18/2009 5:56:23 PM
Alabama in 92 was a big underdog, Florida in 83 and 85[Edited on December 19, 2009 at 5:50 AM. Reason : d]
12/19/2009 5:47:48 AM
Alabama won the National Championship in 1992. They were an average team? Florida beat Miami 35-23 in 1985 and Miami went on to play for the National Championship. (I know, losing to Tennessee.) And that loss to Florida in 1983 was a tough one. If only Miami could have won out and salvaged their season somehow.
12/19/2009 9:10:20 AM
just mentioned them because they were a big underdog.
12/19/2009 5:58:33 PM
i like ya Jaybee, but i have a hard time believing that miami did anything other than torch SEC teams during the 80s.I think Florida would have been favored in 83 and 85, before Miami was really a powerhouse, right? According to that documentary, 83 would have been at the beginning of the Schnellenberger era there. And this quote:
12/20/2009 10:27:21 PM
^ the argument wasnt "one of the best teams since 19__", it was "one of the best of all time" so you have to look at overall record
12/20/2009 10:34:39 PM
12/20/2009 10:36:57 PM
I don't think any of the Florida schools could really be "best of all time then" or really any of the SEC schools. The big ten and northeastern schools were dominating football long before the southern schools got into the game.Tennessee might be the only exception. Last team iirc to go undefeated and unscored upon. 1937. I can't even do that in NCAA
12/20/2009 10:41:06 PM
sigh.1. the argument was the best all time FLORIDA team2. Nationally, Alabama would be above Tennessee and any other program except maybe ND
12/20/2009 10:50:21 PM
If UF wasn't scared to play Miami I might take them a little more seriously in the "Best all-time Florida" discussion.
12/20/2009 11:48:17 PM
If Florida got to play an ACC schedule they probably wouldnt have a problem playing them
12/21/2009 12:38:38 AM
Or if they had balls.UGA and USC don't understand your point.
12/21/2009 12:43:03 AM
and how many SEC Championships do they have in the last decade?that's my pointand I'm not even sure what you are talking about... saying that they have a regular series with Miami?[Edited on December 21, 2009 at 12:46 AM. Reason : d]
12/21/2009 12:44:02 AM
we're talking about non-conference games. Most teams uphold rivalries. The Gators are pussies. Champion pussies, but pussies. Not sure how this is arguable. Great, they're in the SEC. Other SEC teams do not all do this, as my last post stated.^saying that they have regular series with their respective ACC rivals, while Florida plays literally zero out-of-conference away games in the last decade, iirc.just sayin, it's hard to listen to anyone say UF is the best all-time team from FL when they have a slightly worse overall record, slightly worse series record, fewer championships, on top of REFUSING to play the other contender for that title.[Edited on December 21, 2009 at 12:54 AM. Reason : .]
12/21/2009 12:49:49 AM
yeah, Georgia Tech has been a real challenge to UGA... and South Carolina is a shit program, the ACC can have them, we'll take Clemson or VT
12/21/2009 12:57:18 AM
Bweez do you know how bad Florida would have beaten Miami the last 4 years? You wouldn't have wanted to see it....plus then you wouldn't be able to brag about the all-time series.
12/21/2009 1:03:40 AM
12/21/2009 1:09:54 AM
So you do remember that 26-3 beatdown from last year then right?Just making sure you do know that Florida is clearly light years ahead of Miami.[Edited on December 21, 2009 at 1:20 AM. Reason : If they played the other 3 years, UF would lead series was my point]
12/21/2009 1:19:59 AM
they do have a rivalry with Florida State in case you have forgotten... but yes, compared to Tennessee, they do have weak schedules speaking of which, their (Tennessee) schedule is going to suck ass next year (with a new starting QB, RB, 4 O-Linemen, and no EBSept. 11 OregonSept. 18 FloridaOct. 2 at LSUOct. 9 at Georgia Oct. 23 Alabama Oct. 30 at South CarolinaNov. 13 Mississippi6 of those will probably be Top 25
