at least it wasnt mccoy or teblow so i'll take it
12/12/2009 8:55:59 PM
Should have been Suh
12/12/2009 8:56:43 PM
I wonder if Tebow is going to cry at Ingram crying
12/12/2009 8:56:55 PM
^^ Suh would have been the Woodson choice, one big game is not > entire season. [Edited on December 12, 2009 at 8:59 PM. Reason : d]
12/12/2009 8:58:24 PM
wtf, suh fourth.
12/12/2009 9:01:54 PM
i didn't know google did "latest results" that gives you live new results as they appear on the internet...
12/12/2009 9:10:29 PM
Alabama must be upset that they can no longer say "We don't win Heismans, we win championships."
12/12/2009 9:45:25 PM
^^fairly new. part of the live search craze that was spurred by bing/twitter/facebook
12/12/2009 9:54:34 PM
something like 90% of the results were from twitter
12/12/2009 10:08:13 PM
Why did they even invite 5 guys? It was pretty much a no brainer.1) Alabama is an SEC team2) Alabama beat Florida3) Alabama is playing for the BCS title4) Tebow had already won a HeismanStats don't matter, just the facts I listed.
12/12/2009 10:24:57 PM
you should probably look at his stats anyway. he dominated against every ranked team he played against
12/12/2009 10:36:06 PM
12/12/2009 10:37:52 PM
i thought Ingram deserved to win. i'd have put Gerhart a close second so i'm not displeased with the results at all.[Edited on December 12, 2009 at 10:58 PM. Reason : k]
12/12/2009 10:58:15 PM
Wow, I didn't know Ingram was the first Alabama player to ever win the Heisman. You would think with their storied history someone at some point would have won one over the years.
12/12/2009 11:01:26 PM
they had 3 qbs who were great back in the day that im not sure how they didnt win. Joe Namath, Bart Starr, and Kenny Stabler (who grew up in my hometown of Foley, AL)[Edited on December 12, 2009 at 11:15 PM. Reason : though they prob didnt throw much as bama liked to run the ball]
12/12/2009 11:13:47 PM
QBs often get robbed... it happens
12/12/2009 11:15:12 PM
[Edited on December 12, 2009 at 11:21 PM. Reason : Namath made all of 374 pass attempts in college. How about that]
12/12/2009 11:19:28 PM
Champ Bailey was robbed
12/12/2009 11:22:21 PM
12/12/2009 11:55:50 PM
no one knew who he was until he had a 4 sack game. without that his numbers dont look any better than probably a number of DT's in college football
12/12/2009 11:57:44 PM
^ i tend to agree. one good game does not a season make. no matter who the opponent is.
12/13/2009 12:02:11 AM
^^^ he was a solid DT aside from that game, but not Heisman worthy.
12/13/2009 12:08:45 AM
A pure defensive player will win in the next ten years, IMOHe'll have to be on a top 10 team, have his three best games on National TV, and not have any runners or passers really stand outBut I think it will happen
12/13/2009 12:08:48 AM
it could, but all those things happening in one season really is the perfect storm of circumstance.
12/13/2009 12:11:32 AM
Say Brandon Spikes had 15 sacks and 5 picks this year, including one returned for a touchdown with 2 minutes left to win the game vs Alabama...he could very well have won itI think there will be 2 more near misses for defensive players as voters realize that they have just as much of an impact on the game as QB's and running backs...then finally, someone will break through, and it will start a trend of a defensive player winning every 7-8 years or so from then on
12/13/2009 12:16:13 AM
12/13/2009 1:04:44 AM
12/13/2009 8:04:54 PM
yeah he tends to have a lot of linemen as #1's all the time...but you arent gonna sit here and tell me everyone follows what kiper says and that they know every single joe schmoe offensive and defensive linemen throughout the entire season...
12/13/2009 8:13:19 PM
I had heard about him weeks ago because ESPN had been talking about him because he was absolutely dominating games.
12/13/2009 8:27:31 PM
and clearly you represent the masses of america, right?
12/13/2009 8:35:26 PM
^^^^ it doesnt matter one bit what Kiper had him at... that is the NFL draft board, not the best college football player draft board. Come on man!^^ plenty of people have heard of him, that doesnt make him Heisman worthy. He only had one completely crazy game and that was the Big 12 CG[Edited on December 13, 2009 at 8:36 PM. Reason : d]
12/13/2009 8:36:01 PM
I was simply responding to someone who said that nobody knew who he was before that game. I stated that ESPN had been talking about him for some time. I don't see what all the fuss is over.
12/13/2009 8:45:37 PM
Fair enough KaYak... but
