12/8/2009 10:30:58 PM

12/8/2009 10:49:33 PM
^^^the epicness of that story sorda proves my point...In male sports it would've been just another day at the office.
12/8/2009 10:51:50 PM
12/8/2009 10:59:10 PM
Dunking only recently became a part of mens basketball. You wouldn't know that?
12/8/2009 11:04:39 PM
i seriously hope this is a troll.
12/8/2009 11:06:48 PM
^^Yeah, guys have only been physically able to dunk for a few years nowRemember when women's college basketball banned dunking back in the 70s? Man that was some shit.]
12/8/2009 11:07:51 PM
Who cares if they can dunk? There are several males that can't dunk. Why would that be an issue anyway. 2pts is 2pts. According to you, basketball before the invention of the dunk was lame and garbage.
12/8/2009 11:12:58 PM
No, according to me, women's basketball is garbage relative to men's basketball. The fact that in the very, VERY rare instance, a woman actually is able to dunk a basketball in a basketball game, THAT is epic news. And thats sad.But you are correct in saying 2 points is 2 points. George Gervin himself said "anybody can dunk...but not just anybody could finger roll." Obviously though he wasn't talking about women when he said 'anyone'.
12/8/2009 11:16:34 PM
the wnba is gonna be a thing of the past in about 10 years anyway. all those draft picks and all
12/8/2009 11:23:27 PM
They are shorter and less explosive. We know that. We also know the womens game has much better team defense. notable non dunkers:Chris QuinnDanny FerrySteve KerrMat HarpringDanny FatsonSteve NashDavid WesleyI even heard zach randolph only has 1 dunk all season.
12/8/2009 11:23:58 PM
Quinn can't dunk
12/8/2009 11:25:03 PM
All I know is that Sue Bird could shut down Kobe with no problem at all...
12/8/2009 11:26:32 PM
7/700 nba men cant dunk7/700 nba women can dunkyou can spit a handful of examples at us about any argument... that doesn't validate your argument.
12/8/2009 11:39:43 PM
So let me ask yall this...what do you think the over/under would be for how many points a middle of the road NBA team would score on the WNBA all stars, in a 48 minute game? I'd put it somewhere around 240 or so, although it might be a lot higher. Just imagine how many points they could put up when every single member of the other team is a defensive liability on every single possession.
12/8/2009 11:41:34 PM
nobodys saying integrate both leagues. the idea is that, when a lebrona comes along, should she be allowed to play in the nba? We know the nba is a higher level than the wnba. Thats not the argument. The argument is letting the best woman play with the men. Just like you might let a great 8th grader play high school ball. You're not going to field a team of them obviously. Basketball is a specialist sport. The woman would be used as a specialist. [Edited on December 8, 2009 at 11:44 PM. Reason : shes obviously not going to be an enforcer, post player or lockdown defender. ]

steve nash can dunk
12/8/2009 11:57:36 PM
"can" dunk and "dunks in games" are two completely different worlds
12/8/2009 11:58:24 PM
m not pro but some of that might have to do with position. not everyone gets to just go to the basket when they want. the last thing a lanky white boy wants to do isshowboat and dunk any damn way. the point is to get the points on the board.
12/9/2009 12:01:18 AM
if she's good enough to play, let her playthe problem is, she won't be good enough to play
12/9/2009 12:14:06 AM
If she ever does come along I seriously hope someone writes a biography about her and titles it "Below the Rim".Yes, I read Bill Simmons.
12/11/2009 3:34:29 PM
a women attempting to play in the nba would be injured quickly on into the season. even if a miracle happened and she could stay healthy for half a season the beating she would take on a nightly basis would tear her down. it would be a quick departure for her from the nba.
12/11/2009 6:28:29 PM
the best female basketball player in the world wouldn't be good enough to play on a D1 college men's teamcan we lock this thread
12/11/2009 9:49:54 PM
ya right. mays wouldn't be a starting pg in the wnba
12/11/2009 11:18:36 PM
^^I wouldn't go that far.
12/11/2009 11:34:14 PM
How the hell is somebody gonna call Steve Nash slow?To be a great troll you have to at least make it look like you believe what you're saying.
12/11/2009 11:52:11 PM
Steve nash is slow (not relative to a regular person but to an nba guard). He plays fast makes quicks decisions and has great handles but if you don't think he would lose to most guards in a footrace you're crazy. The common casual fan would think hes fast but hes really not fast. He's just so great with the ball that he can go full speed with it and still be under control. If you see that as trolling then you just don't know basketball.
12/11/2009 11:56:34 PM
12/12/2009 12:36:15 AM
why wouldn't you go that far? any decent men's pickup game would beat a wnba team
12/12/2009 10:12:29 AM
women's teams practice against men and beat them...
12/12/2009 10:18:35 AM
give it a rest, trollany good HS boys team could beat a WNBA team
