the 6.2 is stout if you upgrade the heads, otherwise it'll drop valves like there's no tomorrow

Yewkneedwunnadeez:

(2007 Sema show concept: Dodge Ram BFT... guess what that stands for? )

http://www.autoblog.com/gallery/sema-2007-dodge-ram-bft/#11

yeah, I know it's not actually available. I just remembered it when I read the title of the thread. Ram brand may be getting into heavy-hauling market and so they reused the image of this truck this morning on autoblog.

Dodge sells the 35, 45, and 5500 under their own nameplate. You used to be able to get the Sterling Bullet which was the same as the 5500, but Sterling shut down.

So far I have noticed no real issues with the DRW truck. Running errands you are a little more concious of where you park than you would be with a regular sized vehicle, but not so much to make driving it a pain in the ass. For example its not as much a pain as running errands in a bread van.

Sterling used to be Ford but Ford sold Sterling to Daimler. Then Daimler decided to shutdown Sterling and only produce Freightliners.

The Dodge Ram / Sterling Bullet was a way for Diamler to sell the same truck in two different markets. The Ram could be bought from your local dodge dealer for people looking towards the upper end of the light duty market and the Bullet could be bought from a Sterling dealer at the low end of the medium duty market.

The Cummins ISB is the current engine for the F650 and F750 since CAT decided not to build over the highway engines to meet 2010 emissions. Navistar has been building the 6.4L Powerstroke for the the smaller trucks but Ford and Navistar had a falling out and Ford will be building it's own 6.8L engine starting next year.

Got some firestone transforce on the back now, still got to get some LRE on the fronts, the C range tires are rated about 800lbs to low for the heavy ass front end.

Another downside to the DRW is having to install the rear outer wheels so you can still get to the valvestem on the inner wheel. Not a big deal, just saying.

Towed this thing like a champ 75mph to Durham, no fiddling with tounge weight, no trailer wag whatsoever. The Escalade did everything I needed it to do but this truck does it all so much better.

Not like you'd pull anything more than a lawnmower behind your truck anyhow.

yeah, well, i assure you the SHP gives no breaks for me, either. RPD and Wake SO might be a different story but hell they don't pull over anybody unless you are either 30-over or drunk as hell.
