I approve of any E36 M3 thread. Great looking car man, enjoy it. I still miss mine. Everybody should own E36.

Sushi Thai has gotten much better, and is now decent (the one in Cary anyway), but in my opinion Kashin is superior. I suggest you try it if you haven't.

^^^I wasn't a big fan of kashin the last time i went. However the place in north hills and its sister place in downtown are much much better.

sometimes Mura is a little to trendy. having said that, the hurricane, piano roll, screaming O, and snap dragon are all fucking money.

I think Wasabi has gotten a tad too trendy and a bit expensive w/out the quality improving to match... I haven't been there in a solid year, I may give it another go at some point, thx for the reminder.

Speaking of remembering things, this car was not garaged for several months while Derrick lived w/me and it was parked in front of my condo, like it is now.

I have a hard time believing there's any good Sushi in Raleigh. I thought there was before eating at several places in NYC, Boston, Santa Barbara and Seattle that blew shit out the water.

That said, I've never been to any of the places mentioned, so looks like it's time to revisit Raleigh sushi!

Also, the M3 is a punk ride

i went to Fugakyu in boston a number of times while dating a girl in boston. zagat, phantom gourmet, urban spoon, etc all have it rated as the best sushi in the city etc.

there are definitely places in raleigh to match it.

That yellow actually looks good. It doesn't look like the Dakar yellow I've seen on M3s though. Anyway, I have no problem w/the brakes/wheels, the larger bumper cut out his ///MEH, and I hate the gayngel® eyes.

As for sushi, I've also eaten sushi around the world (Stockholm, Paris, Munich, Istanbul, in addition to New York, Hartford, Mountain View and many others), I would pick Kashin over any other, personally. Raleigh/Cary really does have good sushi restaurants, but this is a personal topic, and I often disagree with other people's sushi choices, such as Sushi Thai, which I think is only decent.

i was insinuating that i didn't like it because it wasn't dakar, not that i was excited because it was.

I actually ended up getting salmon, capers, tomatoes and feta cheese... Regardless, are you going to say that anybody that eats at McDonalds has no taste in steak? Your comment makes sense not. IT MUST BE ALL THE TORQUE OF THE M3 BENDING YOUR MIND!11

Tyler, Sir, Dakar to me looks pale and weak and weird like the late 90s light yellow on 911s. Not an attractive look IMO. Same goes for the WRX's weird yellow. It is distinctive, but IMO the mustard on the e46s is a much bolder color, still not very attractive. I like the yellow on the late 996 which looks about the same as the e36 that's posted here.

The feta WAS imported from Europe! Though it wasn't from Western Germany... I <3 u guys!

The first car I've owned with A/C was a pristine 1998 M3 in 2004 or so. That was also the first car I've owned with a factory CD player, and one touch windows.

I won't be going back on either on a daily driver. You guys are welcome to drive stripped out and loud abominations every day, I'm too much of a princess for that. An e36 M3 with stiffer suspension is at the ragged edge of what I'm willing to put up with, even for just the drive to the track.

Re: Sushi, I may be biased, since I'm friends w/the staff @Kashin, but it really does compare favorably to the best from around the world. I just had it tonight, good stuff... BTW, the chef used to own a supercharged M3, and an EVO! Speaking of Evos, maybe my time to play with them has come? :o

Re: e36 M3 -->I think they have amazingly good looks in 4 door form, what a classic. However, the design is not optimal anymore. The current two I have are 1 because I didn't want to rush my 911/GT3 purchase, was getting tired of borrowing a "normal" car, and had a guest staying over for the better part of a week. 2nd to flip. I wouldn't mind keeping one around as they're still special cars, and I adore the way they look, and enjoy driving them, especially sideways in the rain, but my heart lies elsewhere that's for sure.

On the white car, brakes, tires, alignment done. BMW roof rack on (swapped the bike carriers over). I'm going to try to get the 3 door dings on it pulled out professionally next week if I have time.

On the silver car, did a clutch/pressure plate, throw out bearing (pieces of which were in the flywheel/behind the clutch fork, etc., and melted pieces all over the input shaft of the trans). This used to be an automatic car that was converted using a 95 M3 trans, and apparently clutch from 1995! Jeez, some people... Anyway, I'm going to replace it's conrod bearings probably Monday, and put it up for sale soon.

White goodness (gathering lots of compliments as of late for some reason):

Thank you, and I really agree. I find myself looking at the car, and just admiring it to the point that I sort of find it silly. My 6th M3 sedan, finally in white, and I just like it so much... What a car, really.

Thanks man. I like it, I do, but man I wouldn't mind adding something w/a bit more grip to the table. They do like getting sideways though...

Anyway, here's how the silver car's bearings look;

One wouldn't think it'd make that much noise, but man they sure did...
