The season opener was extremely promising, but I haven't been terribly impressed ever since.

Maybe Dysney did not.

But Walt Disney sure did.

good lord people. this is a family guy thread. family guy is a cartoon that makes fun of people by playing on lies, beliefs, and stereotypes. if you don't like it, don't watch it.

Yes it was all part of Seth McFarlane's plot to destroy Disney World by corrupting the nations youth...

good episode but i didn't really get the last bit with the phone or the thing with the elephant saying to tell meg he is seeing someone or some shit. i wasnt paying too close attention at that part and it caught me off guard and was all "Wtf". i cracked up at Cleveland's new house bit tho.

The only part I've really laughed at this season is when Meg asks Lois if anal sex is against Judaism, and then Peter, with this hilarious hilarious face, goes "It's not, Lois..... it's not."

EDIT: hahaha, here it is:

Two new episodes last night, both were pretty funny.

Peter sitting at the breakfast table avoiding talking to Chris about passing the syrup was definitely a "Simpsons did it" moment.

Tonight's episode was okay. I laughed at a few things, but it was mostly meh. I thought it would have been more interesting if Glenn had decided to keep the baby, but that would upset the almighty status quo.

And tonight's Cleveland Show sucked.

Oh I agree, Quagmire was definitely spot on. But I still felt bad for Brian. I wonder if this is a signal that Seth will start changing him or if we'll just get more of the same-old same-old.

no, he won't change him.
It was just an acknowledgement of some of the stereotypes that Brian is supposed to encompass. Who, from what i've seen and heard from McFarland himself, is who he most resembles in real life. Nothing wrong with some self-awareness

Having watched every Cleveland Show episode since the pilot, these black people jokes are becoming old hat.

I've reached the point where cartoon racism jokes are boring. Wow.

All of the cartoons on Fox had me LOLing tonight.

^^The commercial seems to indicate that's a straight-to-DVD release, which is pretty lame IMO

Yeah I watched that a couple of times this week. It was great overall, but some parts fell really flat (more than I remember from Blue Harvest).

When I watched that episode I knew Palin would do something like this. She probably didn't see the episode.

Its no secret that Seth is a liberal and that most of the political satire on that show are against conservatives. You laugh and move on or you don't watch.

The great thing is this is free advertising for the show.

i watch family guy semi-regularly (seems like i really love an episode or really hate it, so i'm not religious about catching them when they're new)...i have no sympathy for the palins or conservatives in general, but i've always found it a bit offensive when anyone mocks those with disorders they can't control

with that said, and the fact that i haven't actually see the episode in question, it doesn't seem like they were making fun of the baby, but if they weren't, i'm not quite sure what the point was of linking the palins to the character in the show

Very few people I would say this about - but I wish Cancer on Seth McFarlane. One thing to make fun of someones politics - but to make fun of someone for having a downs baby is inexcusable.

Seth, I hope you get cancer and die you coke snorting cock sucker.

^ did you see the episode?

They did not mock the downs syndrome character at all. Believe me - i was waiting for it. I was sitting there the whole time wondering when the bombshell was going to hit. But it never did - the only slightly controversial thing they had her say was "my mom used to be governor of Alaska" and that's only controversial because Palin wanted to make it so.

Apart from that, she was just a normal character and she was used as a love interest for Chris, not ironically or satirically, but as a character Chris genuinely wanted to date. Hell, i would go so far as to say if more shows did what Family Guy did this week, it would help raise acceptance of handicapped people

Everything past season 3 has sucked balls anyway. The episode didn't make fun of handicapped people, but the girl ended up being a bitch in the episode anyway. The joke about Palin wasn't very good and you could tell was only there to get shock laughs. They had to know she'd be pissed about it.

Yea, they were such bad people for making someone with downs portray someone with downs who thought Sarah Palin was exploiting her situation for political gain.

Quote :
"My name is Andrea Fay Friedman. I was born with Down syndrome. I played the role of Ellen on the "Extra Large Medium" episode of Family Guy that was broadcast on Valentine's day. Although they gave me red hair on the show, I am really a blonde. I also wore a red wig for my role in " Smudge" but I was a blonde in "Life Goes On". I guess former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor. I thought the line "I am the daughter of the former governor of Alaska" was very funny. I think the word is "sarcasm".

In my family we think laughing is good. My parents raised me to have a sense of humor and to live a normal life. My mother did not carry me around under her arm like a loaf of French bread the way former Governor Palin carries her son Trig around looking for sympathy and votes."
