Oh thank heavens you were here to see that, clumsy me! Hopefully this hasn't been mentioned yet, but I'd like to see the U back to national football prominence.

For most any school in the country, that'd be good. But based on the standard set at Arizona (ranked top-5 on ESPN's prestige rankings), I wouldn't think you'd be satisfied with that. They've had one elite-8 appearance since the 2002-2003 season (nothing beyond that). Their record in conference play is 65-53 since then also. Good, but how can you not expect a little more?[Edited on September 24, 2009 at 1:52 PM. Reason : ]

Point taken. Probably been mentioned, but UCLA football needs to be on this list.[Edited on September 24, 2009 at 2:15 PM. Reason : ]

UCLA football is 3-0, had a top 10 recruiting class last year, and is well on the way to being respectable again.^^and no offense, but there are plenty of UofA alums that would disagree wholeheartedly... They owned the PAC-10 for so many years...There's been some pretty embarrassing losses and incidents in the last couple of years. I'd love to see them winning 25+ games on a regular basis again. Haha, their loss in the Sweet 16 in March was one of the WORST in tourney history....[Edited on September 24, 2009 at 2:44 PM. Reason : w]

he beat them when they had Jordan Hill, Chase Buttinger and Jerryd Baylesswhat makes you believe he won't beat them this upcoming season?(and yes, i know Harden and Pendergraph are gone. ASU's best two = AU's best two)

U of Houston was awesome in football and basketball. Our famous white shoes team in '67 beat Houston when they were ranked #2 in the country. Ever since the SWC died they have been a minor blip on the radar, though their upset the other week of Okie State was pretty cool.TCU, Minnesota, Navy, Washington, Colorado, Pitt, and GT have all had national prominence in football at one time or another and kinda faded away for various reasons. Even Vandy had their day in the sun. Notre Dame is far from the days of competing for a national title, but I don't buy the argument that X team has to be good in order to make sports interesting. It creates a vacuum for another school to step up and take their place.

What, no SMU football fans?

I wanna see an Ivy League team compete for a national title again. Any title.

Raiders vs. Broncos will be blacked out in the Bay Area, one of the only pure hatred rivalries in the league.

Actually I hope some of these teams stay down forever, mostly Notre Dame, Miami, and UVa. Good riddance.

their back-to-back 20+ win seasons are simply a blip in their history of mediocritythey'll be back to 12-15 wins per season this year and for many years to come (until Ol' Wood Chopper is fired)
