This show has always been more about the subtle laughs and relating to the characters more so than gut busting LOLs. So it’s harder to pinpoint when the quality is slipping because it’s not a steep drop off like some shows (Family Guy, The Office) when they start to suck. That said, I have noticed a bit of a lull this season, and I hope we see some progress come January. I couldn’t give less of a shit about the overarching “who really is the mother ?” story arc; I just want consistently good episodes and attractive female guest stars, and I don’t think that’s too much to ask.

I was LOLing pretty much the entire thirty minutes. It was sold as a "musical" episode, which I generally hate, but the musical part of it was perfect and exactly the right length.

I guess you can say Ted's closer to meeting the mother but it's no rush. Looking at the numbers a Season 6 is pretty much a guarantee at this point, too...

I thought it was a very good episode. That's why this show frustrates me. It can have a handful of awful episodes that will really bum me out and think it's lost it and then a really good one comes along to get my hopes back up.

The smoking episode was awful. It felt like the writers were forced to write an episode about smoking and why it's bad for you, so they scrapped together a subpar episode with some really cheezy interaction from Future Ted's kids and gave us a lame afterschool special.

^I too agree, that show is growing on me. I DVR the whole 8-10 CBS block, but was really ready to skip that show, but the wife liked it. Now its getting pretty damn funny with his buddy and I'm starting to enjoy it too.

this show is starting to lose me. I won't stop watching because i've followed it from the beginning but it's no longer a must see on mondays or even a next day DVR for me. I usually catch it later in the week when i dont have much else going. There just isn't anything happening. It was last last night after modern family and cougar town dvr, big bang theory dvr, community, parks rec, and the office.

haha i like cougar town mainly because of the ex husband and the guy neighbor. going out partying in a blazer and swim trunks is great, and the guitar jingles are always top notch.




i'm not saying i didn't like this episode. It was definitely great, cook poo was priceless especially at the end. and having Jim Nantz in there was awesome and it was fun to see him loosen his collar. All i'm saying is that after 5 seasons and weeks between any real advancement in storylines it's starting to slip down my must-see list. I'll never stop watching though.
