I still own one modified car, but I very seldom drive it anymore and haven't thought of adding any more mods to it in something like 4 or 5 years. Most of the folks I hung around as a result of the whole car scene are gone from my life, too.I now drive a stock vehicle most of the time, and don't have any desire to mod it. I may someday get back into the car hobby and start yet another phase of mods on my car, but for now it sits while other things occupy my thoughts, deeds and dollars.

I used to be really into driving fast, modding cars and club auto-racing.Now that I own a motorcycle, my only real criteria for car buying is "How many motorcycles can I put in it?"

The older I get the more this phrase holds true:"You either have the time to spend money you don't have, or you have the money and no time to spend it."When I do have time outside of work, the last thing I want to do is MORE work (hobby or otherwise). I think that has a lot to do with how much I love my job though. When I was in less interesting jobs, I definitely spent a whole lot more time on hobbies

That's why you buy parts when you have money and install them when you're unemployed. That's what I did.

^^there is something to that. when you dont enjoy your job your hobbies give you something to look forward to each day. I cant tell you how many times ive woken up on a Monday morning and been like "fuck, a new week" but then turned around and said "oh wait im getting my new ..... this week"
