"mainly due to Tebow being a beast, but also a fair amount of luck"

in the 10 years of spread option at Navy, only one QB suffered a severe injury while running the ball. it's actually easier for a player to avoid serious injury when they're running than when they're in the pocket. they see who is coming and can adjust their body to take a hit. they certainly don't get blindsided like pocket passers tend to. being in good shape is only part of the equation.

but don't take my word for it http://www.ajc.com/sports/georgia-tech/techs-nesbitt-tough-enough-151268.html

in fact, for all the running navy does, I can only remember one torn ACL on a QB/SB/FB that happened in game from a hit. and i can't recall any concussions like the one tebow got

Navy barely passes out of its spread option offense and therefore isn't a good comparison to the move pass heavy spread offenses such as Florida.

This is what I speculate happened. The hit to the back of the head on the leg of <forgot which lineman it was> is the one that got him. The brain sits 'floating' in your head. The shot to the head from the hit accelerated his body backward, his brain smushed a little forward in its cavity but nothing severe enough for bruising or damage. Then, his body decelerated on the leg and the brain had that extra distance to speed up over what it normally would and crashed into the back of his skull, causing a much worse concussion than just from the hit.

^^JB is trying to talk about how it's more dangerous running the ball and how tebow is such a beast and avoids injury.

i'm saying that argument is BS. it's more dangerous to pass the ball as that's where QB's get nailed from the blindside and take hits they aren't prepared for

tebow has passed 21 more times than navy's qb has this year. or 5 more passes a game

and since i'm sure the article i linked will be unread by many before they jump on my shit

"Craig Candeto, who played quarterback for Navy from 2002-04, said he learned to avoid injuries by learning how not to get hit. He said while quarterbacks do get hit more in this offense compared to those who stand in the pocket, quarterbacks in Johnson's offense rarely get blindsided a Tebow did, and are usually able to either get down or turn your body so that you don't get hit badly when they are running the ball.

Nesbitt said that was part of what helped during his 32-carry day. He took some shots, but he was rarely defenseless."

And his apology was mostly just him saying ā€œIā€™m an awkward human, sorry! I would have done the same to a male athlete!ā€

I saw a tweet that has screenshots of a bunch of his past tweets with some umm questionable choice of words/subjects. Also apparently he claimed on his substack/patreon/whatever that he wasn't working because of family commitments, not a suspension lol.

Good to see this guy is still a huge fuckin clown 20+ years later.
