I don't think you can say the Karate Kid "made it"....I would consider the KK movies as part of his "younger" career.

Ralph Macchio has continued to be in a lot of stuff since Karate Kid and into the present, including a bunch of prime time television, most recently HIMYM. Not a superstar, but he definitely "made it". (and i watched Karate Kid recently and it's actually pretty great)

I think it would be more accurate to say he's not fallen off the face of the earth rather than "made it." My Cousin Vinny was the last major role he had in a project that made any significant money. I don't call single episode appearances on Law and Order "making it" compared to the other guys in The Outsiders.

I'd even say that C. Thomas Howell barely made it...and Ralph is a decent ways behind him.

I guess it depends on the definition of "made it". Sure, compared to the other Outsiders, he's had the least success. But i bet he's got more money than the vast majority of TWWers.

Absolutely. And people were trying to get tickets off of Craigslist.

First...that's not saying much. The cream of the T-dub drop (not counting CliffyB)...are engineers maxing out in the low 100,000s. I'd say the majority are in the $50-70k range with another huge portion just scraping by. In a Hollywood sense, I doubt Ralph is doing that great. If he is still living a fairly lavish life, its only because he gets residuals from the Karate Kid movies and/or invested it well.

Which I would consider "made it".

(b/c when i think of child stars who "didn't make it", I think of bankruptcy, multiple arrests, addictions, death etc)

Then we have different definitions of "made it." Pretty sure yours is wrong...

Wow...I had no idea. Everyone I know seemed to think it would be a cool show for like $5, but nobody wanted to pay the $15-$20 or whatever. Plus it seems really lame that they advertised it as "The Pizza Underground featuring Macaulay Culkin" as if the band's music couldn't stand on it's own without having his name attached to it.
