^ nah, that was benson kirkman.Thomas Crowder ousted kirkman, but he's as bad, if not worse.

i still don't understand why anyone would ever buy a house in the city limits
7/27/2009 12:21:25 AM
with a stupid ordinance like this, you could buy outside of the city limits, then in a few years get annexed by Raleigh so they can rake in more tax money, and then be double-fucked by not being able to park your toys.
7/27/2009 12:28:38 AM
get way the hell out there like we do back home

7/27/2009 12:42:24 AM
your parents are completely hidden from view back there. they don't really count. [Edited on July 27, 2009 at 12:47 AM. Reason : they started to annex grandaddy's place and he sold it and built a house bout 10 miles down the road]
7/27/2009 12:45:13 AM
Oh, no. They count, b/c their parking area will be considered illegal in at least two ways. And you know they can't park on the street And at any rate, my point is no less valid: you cannot live life on a what-if basis. I mean, you can, but it's not a life worth living. [Edited on July 27, 2009 at 12:47 AM. Reason : dfg]
7/27/2009 12:46:51 AM
yeah, but will anybody go back there and check?
7/27/2009 12:47:21 AM
Yeah. We've got a busybody neighbor who hates my mom. Also, our across-the-street neighbors will be impacted...every single person on both parts of the street will. You can't use individual 'oh, yall will be fine even if you're illegal' cases as a reason to justify your stance. It's backwards, and you're blaming people for not having a type of foresight and frame of mind that's totally unreasonable.

My guess is they would issue permits to allow parking for the fair and what not. Hopefully this ordinance won't come to be though and it won't be an issue.
7/27/2009 12:21:46 PM
First off, under most circumstances I think parking in the front lawn (long term) just looks bad. However, it's not the city council's place to tell people what to do with their property. If you live in a HOA too bad, but if you don't this is bullshit.

If neighborhood looks like Sanford & Son, it's gonna look like Sanford & Son no matter if the cars are parked in the front yard or in the driveway or the street.
7/27/2009 2:49:50 PM
I'm not typically a fan of cars being parked in yards, but this is a bit excessive. I'm about to move into a place off Lineberry, and the HOA doesn't allow parking on the street or in the yard. Dealing with the pissy HOA (and not having enough parking if we ever want to have a guest over) is something I knew I'd have to deal with when I signed the lease.
7/27/2009 2:52:01 PM
with no street parking how do you entertain when you have guests over?
7/27/2009 3:14:27 PM
When I lived in Trailwood Springs I had a kegger with about 40-50 people over. I had them all shuttled over b/c the only street parking was by permit
7/27/2009 4:41:30 PM
this is bs! you should be able to do whatever you want if you own the land unless you have an HOA! that is what my parents love about our neighborhood, is that they could paint thier house pink and purple polka dotted if they wanted to. I think that parking on the street is a bigger pain than people parked in thier yards. but what does it matter what I say. It's thier damn property!!!

Tyranny of the lawn clones. Instead of trying to induce govt to abuse it's power, why not get your FOX-mates to go around and hang aposthetic admonitions on the side-mirrors of the heathens? If you're gonna do it, why not just have a nice non-intrusive property tax rider? then the rentors, like the Dennings, will encourage their renters to not park in the yard. Take the proceeds from the new tax and buy some flamingoes.[Edited on September 26, 2009 at 6:50 PM. Reason : conciliation][Edited on September 26, 2009 at 6:53 PM. Yeah no parking on the street gets your car (and apartment building) hit by unlicensed uninsured Spanish speaking women.

^ that is true. seen three hit and runs on my street, all unregistered probably mexicans

how about laws like this and HOA's illegally take away your personal property rights. it's all bullshit. it's my property, I should be able to do what I want. and fuck you if you think otherwise.
9/27/2009 12:57:14 PM
how do they "illegally" take away your property rights?
