I, too, would be interested in a tunnel painting excursion.[Edited on July 10, 2009 at 8:43 AM. Reason : TWOOOOOOOOO]

mcknight returns to campus from the real world for a tunnel painting?????
7/10/2009 8:44:07 AM
evan?
7/10/2009 8:46:07 AM
never did it as a student, so, yeah, i'd be down. as long as i'm not working
7/10/2009 9:08:08 AM
a sunday night would be good for this
7/10/2009 9:08:34 AM
the opportune moment would be before the first day of fall semester in the free expression tunnel IMO.
7/10/2009 9:11:14 AM
verily.
7/10/2009 9:11:20 AM
^^good point. that'll be a tuesday night. i'll get on it.
7/10/2009 9:12:30 AM
7/10/2009 9:17:52 AM
what are you saying there?
7/10/2009 9:18:27 AM
he's saying no one will want to sign up or stick around after they do because people, including himself, are mean to new users.[Edited on July 10, 2009 at 9:21 AM. Reason : k]
7/10/2009 9:20:39 AM
i was referring to the "like you?" part
7/10/2009 9:24:54 AM
If you go to Lowes or Home Depot fairly often grab some "oops" paints to paint the tunnel. I picked up a 5 gallon bucket of exterior paint for $15 not too long ago. 1 Gallon cans are $5 each.
7/10/2009 9:31:22 AM
don't they usually have buckets of safety red paint that you don't have to have mixed?
7/10/2009 9:32:20 AM
dammit, i was gonna organize a tunnel painting
7/10/2009 9:41:24 AM
your assistance is certainly welcome[Edited on July 10, 2009 at 9:42 AM. Reason : united we stand, divided we fall or some shit]
7/10/2009 9:42:11 AM
nah, we'll get something goingalthough i was aiming at doing some painting during the summer, when fewer people are around to repaint the tunnel, plus get the bored students who are on campus.i'm down for painting the week before school starts...sunday before school? People are moving on campus right around then, freshmen should be scouting out their routes and classes also, has anyone linked the guy who made wolfwall and told him to get out of our territory?[Edited on July 10, 2009 at 9:46 AM. Reason : lkj]is there even a forum or is it just a homepage like you make in E115?[Edited on July 10, 2009 at 9:47 AM. Reason : what a gay concept if so]
7/10/2009 9:46:10 AM
7/10/2009 9:55:32 AM
sweet. thanks for the help. i didn't know the tinting was free.
7/10/2009 9:58:05 AM
It's definitely free if you're buying regular paints. There is no price difference between picking a color sample off the wall and having them mix it or just picking up a jug of plain white paint off the shelf with no mixing. Make sure you ask since it's oops paints, but I'm pretty sure they will. Especially if you tell them it's for an NCSU project. If you were thinking of doing three cans of Red (background) and one can of white (lettering) it would probably make the difference between it costing $20 or costing $100. Four cans would be a ton of paint though...It all depends on how much you want to do.[Edited on July 10, 2009 at 10:03 AM. Reason : s]
7/10/2009 10:01:23 AM
so you think 4 cans would paint about a quarter of the tunnel?i've never painted that sucker, so i'm kinda lost
7/10/2009 10:02:21 AM
I don't know...It's hard to say. I'm used to painting interior walls, not graffiti covered bricks. A gallon goes a long way on primed or painted sheetrock, but it might not go very far on bricks. And it's been a while since I was in there so I don't really have a good idea of how big 1/4 of the tunnel would be. Depends a lot on whether you're talking about both sides of the tunnel or just one I guess. 5 gallons of background might not be a bad idea just to make sure you've got a ton of coverage.[Edited on July 10, 2009 at 10:08 AM. 7/10/2009 10:07:25 AM
well, if nothing else we can just start at one end of one wall and see how far that takes us
7/10/2009 10:08:24 AM
That's what I would do. Pick up 5 rollers and it wouldn't take long for 5 people to have all the paint on the wall. I have a couple you can borrow if you need them.
7/10/2009 10:12:16 AM
that would be most helpful
7/10/2009 10:13:55 AM
listen guys...this is chit chat, and it's survival of the fucking fittest.[serious post: if you want new people the fucking website has to work, first and foremost.]
7/10/2009 10:20:18 AM
the kids today would rather be on facebook because
7/10/2009 10:28:19 AM
good point
7/10/2009 10:28:56 AM
seems like we'd want the site working well before trying to get new users. . . awww who am i kidding. it will never get to 100% again.
7/10/2009 10:32:24 AM
i bet this wolfwall dude is lurking tww and is gonna paint over whatever we paint
7/10/2009 10:33:29 AM
That's a battle he doesn't want to start.
7/10/2009 10:39:01 AM
i must admit, his site would make a decent homepage. it's pretty much got links to all the pages i use, anyway (except tww, of course).
7/10/2009 10:40:27 AM
this idea will only work if coupled with a party at Ruckus
7/10/2009 10:44:08 AM
what's that? the tunnel painting?
7/10/2009 10:45:31 AM
yes
7/10/2009 10:58:35 AM
is that generally how tww tunnel paintings operate?
7/10/2009 10:59:22 AM
this thread officially sucks ass due to being affiliated with whatever the fuck wolf wall is
7/10/2009 11:26:31 AM
Ruckus would be the after party, obviouslymaybe Joel can give us a VIP discount on pitchers if you come in wearing paint As far as the functionality...it works as well as its going to get. You can post, you can search, and (last I checked) you can look up old and outdated records in the school tool.Regardless, the only functionality that matters to get new people to stay is the forums at this point.
7/10/2009 11:35:01 AM
damn you[Edited on July 10, 2009 at 11:36 AM. Reason : irony]
7/10/2009 11:35:46 AM
if we actually do this i can create one of those cutout signs for us (maybe)
7/10/2009 11:38:36 AM
^tell me more...
7/10/2009 11:42:59 AM
didn't someone (thinking evan) make the epic cat into a stencil?
7/10/2009 11:45:14 AM
oooo, one of thosei never pay attention to those things. i think one huge wolf logo would be better. i guess some little ones wouldn't hurt, though.
7/10/2009 11:46:26 AM
we could use stencils of
7/10/2009 11:47:28 AM
mayhaps
7/10/2009 11:55:59 AM
just as smaller stencils that someone with spraypaint/regular paint could do all over the tunnel while others work on the larger TheWolfWeb.com NCSU Student Forums dealin addition, we could add in the School Tool and Study Hall as bait and switch advertisements
7/10/2009 12:04:51 PM
^ or I could actually paint the wolf and not use a stupid stencil
7/10/2009 12:05:58 PM
school tool is useless now that we have pick-a-prof[Edited on July 10, 2009 at 12:06 PM. Reason : ^easy now. it's a big tunnel. there's room for both]
7/10/2009 12:06:00 PM
brentroad.com was so much cooler back in the day
7/10/2009 12:07:41 PM
let go of the past, gunzz
