how long have you been making them?are they made to exact American Cornhole Association specifications?what are you stuffing them with?whats the price?i'd rather buy something that i know isn't gonna break in a year, versus having to hunt someone down in a year if/when they break.

I have been teaching high school students how to make them since last August. I make them 7 inch by 7 inch with a .5 inch seam, clip the corners, then turn them right side out so the final bag measures 6 inches by 6 inches. The one difference between the ACA bags and mine is they use a 1/4 inch seam and I use a 1/2 to prevent unraveling. I could do a 1/4 inch seam for a special request but it would not be as sturdy.I "stuff" them with 2 cups of deer feed corn. It's about 15.5 ounces. I sew the fill hole using double stitching. One thing I DO NOT do that I will do once I get my pinking shears back is to clip the inside with pinking shears to create an unraveling seam finish. As far as pricing goes, I said make an offer. I haven't sold my bags. We have just been making them for fun.Considering all that goes into them, they are pricey to make.[Edited on July 9, 2009 at 12:07 AM. Reason : oops.]

I just made a set of cornhole boards, and I'm also going to go with the red/white/black theme (my bags are red and black). I want to make a neutral design, though, so they can work for Hurricanes games as well as NCSU games. I like the design you posted up several posts. If you want to get more detailed, do checkerboard with the logos over instead of just plain red and white.

Is it just me, or is cornhole a ridiculous name for a game?

Verses what?Beer Pong, Asshole, Poker or Tiddlywinks?

I got the boards painted and I'm about to draw the logos on there...Wish me luck! The black bags are finished, filled and sewn but the white bags are waiting to be dyed red!Want to see funny names for games? Look up all the names of "Dandy Golf" or "Ladders" or "Bolo"...all the same game, lots of different names!

Here are the painted boards:And here's the finished one:And the finished black bean bags and the empty white (soon to be dyed red): I'm pretty happy with how they are turning out.

It took awhile to paint and lacquer them again but they are finished! I only had minimal trouble with getting the paint to adhere to the lacquer with the use of the Kilz primer.

why is cornhole suddenly popular?

Oh hell, I took Sweden's idea and made these last fall:Am actually going to paint the legs on the red one today. Getting them ready for their first tournament in a few weeks.

How'd you paint the logos? By hand? Stencil? Sticker?
5/26/2010 5:42:01 PM
I have a vinyl cutter, pulled the logos off the web and cut them with my machine. Was definitely a headache doing the main logos as one screwup ruins the whole thing. But I am happy with the end result

I like the tee scoring technique. I've not seen that before.

^ Those look good. I was planning on doing a red and white set with the block S on one and the diamond S on the other. Never got around to it this summer though.

Make sure not to leave the bean bags in the hot humid sun. They start smelling like baked beans after a while.

My brother and I made a set in my gallery. It's ripped apart lattice to kind of simulate the wood basketball floor. It was a bitch to make, but looks fantastic in person. The picture of it kind of sucks though[Edited on August 11, 2010 at 1:55 PM. Reason : .]
