^^ I was always the only want that would keep standing up during games...I hated playing things like boom blox with everyone sitting on the couch

When I got the Wii at launch I nabbed Twilight Princess to go with it. [funny aside: the store had like 75 wiis and only 7 copies of Zelda. I felt vindicated for camping out]

At first I was swinging my arm to swing the sword and throwing my left arm out to block, but then after a while I was sitting down and doing the lightest motion I could possibly do to register a swing and a block.

This will probably happen with Natal, too. There will be many baby kicks and punches and flicks of wrists, etc. You'll be dancing like DDR is dancing.

Still looks cool though.

I'm not saying wii doesn't have it's place. I'm sure it can do a lot of things better. In fact, without a controller, I think natal will be very limited.

But personally, I was really disappointed with the Wii. I've bought like 3 games for it and only mario galaxy really amazed me.

same for me. just like the cube, i like it for party games (brawl, warioware, mario party), but the rest is mostly meh (few decent titles here and there, but id rather get an xbox game for single player most times).

id sell it, but it has its place.

why not include a headtracking in-game "camera" for first person games?

This would be a developer thing of course. So easy with what they already have."

Funny you should mention Johnny Lee's head-tracking Wii video:

Because he's working on Natal for Microsoft.

doh! makes perfect sense.

I was thinking about this all yesterday. I wish the time/skill/money to develop for this. I think a mirror's edge type game (but fun) would kick ass.

I think I know how the player could run, turn, jump, kick, duck and the headtracking would make it really immersive.

i can't wait for a rag-doll kung-fu type game (pc game controlled by mouse where character basically has free reign in a 2d world to fight with no pre-set moves) where the fighting is total rag doll any part can act. I think multiplayer would be awesome and it would definitely get people off their ass if they make it in such a way that you can't just throw weak crap and have it register as a strong punch/kick etc

^Yeah but this way it would probably be online and you could "spar" with friends in other towns or complete strangers around the world. If only they could make you feel the pain from the hits, then you'd really feel like you were in the game, haha.

^^^^how would it get around the fact that the player wouldn't be affected by what's going on in the game?

Just "knock" their character back a bit from a hit

Hopefully this will be compatible with the xbox 3 that's destined to come out in a couple of years.

kind of like how the controller wasn't 'compatible' with the original xbox dvd player?

Watching a rerun of invisible walls this morning. The guys that demoed this thing really thought it was awesome, but also that the Milo thing was essentially smoke & mirrors. But the paint studio & game w/ the balls were legit and really well done. They were also very high on the PS3 wand. Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure they will sell alot more of those if they just add a clitoral stimulator to it.

ya my roommate has a PS3 and that thing is hardly touched when compared to the two Xbox 360's in the house and wii.

really only time wii is used is when chicks are over lol

Is there not going to be any remote type feature. I could see motion sensing cool for some games but simply get annoying for others. Like i'm not going to want to act like i'm fingering a gun for 2 hours playing call of duty and jog in place to run somewhere.

Nonetheless I'd rail the daughter in that video

I agree with the guy that gamespot that this has much more potential for non gaming stuff, it will work great for some games but I can't imagine it becoming the norm, some games would just seem rediculous, like an fps

Obviously it's not ideal for every game, neither is a steering wheel or light gun, or even a standard controller (this thing would be much more effective in RTS games than a standard controller).

maybe this will make minority report and ironman the reality, (the computer stuff, not the pre crime/massive weapon suit stuff)

definitely seems like the breakout game isn't for lazy people. If you're not willing to move your feet you'll suck at that game.

But it looks fun.

I think the idea is that it works with the [hopefully] existing xBox360, so you can use the regular controllers. From what I've seen/read, it seems that it'll be just the camera assembly/module. No extra controllers and battery chargers, etc. to buy. Nice.
