5/28/2009 5:08:55 PM
Finished at 6 under. I hope that's enough.
5/28/2009 5:09:05 PM
one guy has to shoot 8 underthe other would have to shoot 9 under on the day to win
5/28/2009 5:14:03 PM
WINNERNobody is going to catch him... the lowest score I can find is a 66 (5 under) in the whole tourney.
5/28/2009 5:17:55 PM
nah, it looks like ziegler could shoot a five six under for the day and tie.[Edited on May 28, 2009 at 5:19 PM. Reason : il][Edited on May 28, 2009 at 5:20 PM. Reason : .]
5/28/2009 5:19:17 PM
looking damn good though... damn good. shot a 69 69 69
5/28/2009 5:27:09 PM
ziegler, horshcel and langely have a shot, but they'll have to have phenomenal days. i looked at horshcel's score card and he had 4 birdies in a row. but the day before he had like 4-5 bogeys in a row.i saw this one kid near the bottom, talk about inconsistency,he shot a 77, then a 67, then an 80.
5/28/2009 5:29:34 PM
CONGRATS!

BRING IT HOME!Some girl needs to be ready to suck him off once he gets back. note: I know it's the soccer championship trophy, but I couldn't find a good one of the golf trophy.
5/28/2009 8:23:59 PM
Congrats to Matt. Now win the Masters and US Open. Thx.
5/28/2009 8:47:57 PM
Canadian too!
5/28/2009 10:54:16 PM
Pretty good accomplishment. Already beat Tim Clark's school record for tournament wins as a sophomore and Clark has had a great run in the pros. He has the game to play well for many years to come. GG Matt Hill.

I hope this guy has a successful career. I would like someone to root for other than Tiger.
5/29/2009 7:51:52 AM
^Carl Pettersson and Tim Clarksadly golf is one of the professional sports that State guys actually do decent in (that and the decent amount of NFL guys)Pettersson has won on tour a few times and Clark always puts up a good fight and has gone down to the wire a couple of times and beaten Tiger once at the match play. I would say golf is second after football with how our guys are fairing professionally at the moment.[Edited on May 29, 2009 at 8:36 AM. Reason : .]
5/29/2009 8:34:29 AM
I forgot about Pettersson. Isn't he from Sweden? Thanks for the reminder.^You realize there is the potential to have a Wolfpack player on both teams in the NBA finals right? [Edited on May 29, 2009 at 8:39 AM. Reason : df]
5/29/2009 8:37:32 AM
^^And why did you preface that with "sadly?" While it isn't as widely popular as other pro sports, it's still a high-profile, highly publicized sport. The PGA is also one of the most (if not THE most) charitable professional sports organizations. I for one am quite proud to have NCSU grads on the leaderboards. Give me the PGA over the NBA anytime.
5/29/2009 9:09:09 AM
^^The two guys on the tour will make more money than Hickson and Powell this year, and no one will be drafted this year. NC State is more of a golf school than a BBall school now, haha.
5/29/2009 9:49:44 AM
^^^ yes Pettersson is swedish[Edited on May 29, 2009 at 9:50 AM. Reason : ;]
5/29/2009 9:50:06 AM
good shit mang.
5/29/2009 10:17:26 AM
Marc Turnesa is also on the PGA Tour. Clark/Petterson are top 50 world players. Not many schools can boast those kind of numbers.
5/29/2009 10:53:26 AM
I guess we can tell UNC fans to wait til Golf season now.

wow thats some pretty elite company right there

If he dropped out of school today, he'd probably have a 1/4 million dollar bonus from manufacturers by this time next Friday, just based on hype.

^^^ u scared the shit outta me. I read ur post quickly and thought you said he left school today. Any chance of him not returning next year????
6/7/2009 8:46:35 PM
^last quote above. Said he promised his parents he's getting his degree. 2 more national titles would be sweet. Move over Tiger!
6/7/2009 8:48:59 PM
While looking through the Local Qualifying results from the open (which Hill won) I found this:
6/8/2009 7:43:51 AM
my buddy Jerry is in Memphis right now playing in the US Open Qualifier. he was #1 at NCState and All-ACC 2006.i'll let yall know how he shoots
6/8/2009 8:51:04 AM
Good luck to Matt this week, and ^your buddy Jerry. But most of all, good luck to Phil Mickelson and Rocco Mediate. I need one of them to win so I can get my free driver from Golfsmith!
6/8/2009 9:20:48 AM
Jerry is paired with Kirk Triplett and tee'd off at 8:20am.John Daly tees off later as he tries to make his return to the PGA! hahaother notables in the qualifier today are:James DriscollScott ver PlankBrendan de JongeTim Petrovic
6/8/2009 9:57:26 AM
any idea where we can get results form the qualifiers???
6/8/2009 6:58:17 PM
Did a lot of googling, couldn't find any results for the Roslyn US Open qualifier yet. (the one he is in)
6/8/2009 7:12:41 PM

Matt made the cut at the ATT open ...Sitting at +5, tied for 63rd, and was even heading into the day today ...Hes currently ahead of a pretty nice list of golfershttp://espn.go.com/golf/leaderboard?tournamentId=566
7/5/2009 1:02:12 AM
A) Did he turn pro? There's no Amateur listed on himB) Why is his flag a US Flag when he is from Canada?
7/5/2009 2:28:26 AM
good questions ...So, if he finishes in 68, where he currently is, he will make about 12k for the weekend...Never looked at the full purse distributions before, but it does not seem like there is alot of money coming from these purses ... difference between 50th and 70th is only like 3k...
7/5/2009 12:24:37 PM
^ this event is mostly for charity thus the purses are small. If the purses were larger u'd see more big names there.
