I'd agree that Henderson showed more athleticism than Ellington, just wanted to note that Ellington isn't a slouch. Most people tend to think Henderson=athletic freak ... Ellington=pure shooter, but his workouts prove that false. So does this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_08K2wt-5G0

i'm not going to lie to you guys... wayne ellington is pretty good at basketball.
6/3/2009 1:43:39 PM
I could see Ellington as a Courtney Lee type of player if he lands on the right team... Lee might have the more well-rounded offensive game at this point but I think Ellington can get there
6/3/2009 2:05:04 PM
At this time, I think Ellington is a liability on defense in the same way Reddick was/is. He has the potential to be a good defender (unlike Reddick) with his athleticism but he lacks focus and intensity on defense. Of course some teams don't particularly care about defense (the Knicks and Suns among others) so it might not be a huge issue. Also, did anyone catch the article in the N&O about Costner today? That clown STILL thinks he's going to get drafted.

I hate pulling for one of State's players not to get drafted and to fail miserably at his next next endeavorbut fuck that faggot

I agree completely with NYM on the post about Ellington and Henderson.I can't figure out how Henderson can possibly amount to anything more than a 10th man. He's not great at anything and he has no position. I just don't see how he can help anyone really.Ellington on the other hand would give us much needed shooting and athleticism. I know Larry Brown would be all over him for his defense but he's got the size and athletic ability to become an average (or good?) defender if he works at it. We already have Raja to take the defensive burden against stars so Ellington could be really effective off the bench for us. I love height and guys with a lot of arc in the pros because you need it to get your shot off.It seems like a no brainer selection to me.Barkley was only 6'4 I think Blair will be a pretty good pro. His bodytype is similar to Barkley or Elton Brand who are two of the best offensive rebounders in NBA history. You can always use a guy like him.
6/7/2009 11:39:39 PM
I'd have no problem with the bobs taking Ellington, just like I had no problem with the panthers taking Peppers.Every other tarheel can fuck off though
6/7/2009 11:46:56 PM
peppers and felton are the only two i'm ok with, and peppers sure as hell is testing his luckellington would have to prove he can contribute at the next level before i'd "welcome" another tarheel to one of my pro teams
6/7/2009 11:50:25 PM
as an aside ... in the henderson dunk vid... #8 was made possible solely by our good friend Costner twiddling his asshole in the paint and not rotating.

bttt for tomorrow. will the Bobcats be able to resist drafting Psycho? heard they gave Terrence Williams a guarantee but we'll see
6/24/2009 10:15:27 PM
No to Pyscho T (how the hell did he climb that high up the draft board?)Yes to Williams, Henderson, Johnson, or anyone else not named Hansbrough.
6/25/2009 11:25:49 AM
It's taken 5 years but the Bobcats seem to have finally come to their senses. In 2005 we could have traded 13 and 5 to get 3 and take Paul. We also could have taken Granger with 13.In 2006 we could have taken Brandon Roy or Rudy Gay at 3.in 2007, we made a good move IMO trading Wright for Richardson. Wright hasn't done anything great yet, but its hard to judge him playing in the Warrior's system. JRich was great here for a year and change, but wasn't going to get us to the playoffs the way the team was constituted.Last year we could have taken Brook Lopez at 9. Dj Augustin was not a bad pick and performed better than I thought he would. However, at this point he seems more of a shooter than a pure PG, at at 6 feet tall, he needs to become more of an overall player.I think Williams and Henderson are between the 10-15th best players in this draft and they fill a need for us. I can't see either one of them becoming great, and I can't see either one bombing horribly. Since we lose our first pick to Denver next year if its not in the top 12, we need whoever we pick to really pan out. We're never going to be an elite team, but we're perfectly capable of being the 5-6th best team in the East for the next several years with this core.
6/25/2009 11:38:50 AM
i know it's nbadraft.net, but they have Fells going to the Lakers at the next-to-last pickno mention of Costner in their list lol
6/25/2009 11:42:59 AM
It is not a question of if they will, only a matter of which Tarheel do we pick up with the 12th pick?
6/25/2009 11:43:28 AM
who would have thought it would take the coming of a tar heel to end the tar heel draft lovefest, but larry brown does things the right way and i would be shocked, but would lol all over the place, if they did pick one tonightbut watch them prove me wrong and get their token in danny green in the 2nd round or somethin
