is someone going to be ripping the gopack broadcast? Or is it being telecast anywhere else?

^and Glennon just got sacked again
4/18/2009 2:40:10 PM
"the turf is going to bite the dust, literally"
4/18/2009 2:46:43 PM
The sacks were my biggest problem, in real games Wilson always got touched and would make a guy miss and either run or bomb it. Here, he can get grazed on the arm and it's a sack so maybe not the best representation of how he's doing.[Edited on April 18, 2009 at 3:06 PM. Reason : asdfasdfasdf]
4/18/2009 2:48:55 PM
not to mention, that would be more telling of how the O-line is doing instead of wilson. imo wilson looked fine.
4/18/2009 3:09:08 PM
yeah that rule was pretty lameit was hurting Wilson a lot more than Glennon because Glennon is a pocket quarterback, nearly every play Wilson is moving around and like ActionPants said almost none of the 'touches' that the defense got on Wilson would have actually brought him down in a real game situation, he would have still gotten his pass off pretty easily
4/18/2009 3:09:48 PM
I thought the top 2 returning WRs are recovery from offseason surgeries, is that correct? Would suck if we have to rely on Spencer this season.....[Edited on April 18, 2009 at 3:27 PM. Reason : w]

crowd was huge, and pretty energetic.Mario Carter really stood out to me. James Washington looked good in the first half, especially behind the second team OL. Glennon is progressing right along. Front 7 looks real good.Overall, an excellent time.

^^I thought Mario Carter looked really good as well.

Yeah, but Spencered dropped way to many wide open TDs last season, luckily, we won most of those games....the UNC game he dropped 2 for sure TDs. He was the top WR but he also had games where he couldnt even catch a cold...more less the football. Wilson throws it to a wide open Spencer....wolfpacknation holds their collective breaths.....
4/18/2009 4:13:36 PM
dudes, lay off spencerit was his first year in the spotlight. homeboy can make a few mistakes.damn, you act like he drops every ball thrown to him. he'll be a lot better this year.
4/18/2009 4:18:54 PM
let me correct my statement from last page.glennon looks like a star in the making. not a star just yet. but it looks like he has all the tools to be a great one. wilson definitely for this year though
4/18/2009 4:23:40 PM
4/18/2009 4:33:09 PM
Just got back from the game, the sack rule definitely hurt Russell more although Russell was working behind a much better offensive line than Glennon was. Glennon looked good, I was surprised by how fast he moved. Not that he's a ridiculously mobile guy but he looked very comfortable rolling outside the pocket.Other than the QBs, the LBs (pretty much all of them) looked very good, our TEs looked very good and Jarvis Williams did a good job at receiver.
4/18/2009 5:05:47 PM
I had a fun time at the gameGreat turnout and donations ($28K raised i think).Wilson and Glennon looked good...too bad for the sack rule, but i understand.Picked up some nice autographs: Nate Irving, Owen Spencer, Mike Glennon, and TOB.I also took some turf , but so were a lot of others.I saw a couple of unc fans there, and one guy yelled out Go Gamecocks... o wellOverall, fun game and nice to see the Wilson to Spencer bomb for a TD today
4/18/2009 5:12:19 PM
i had a nice time out there today toosaw a bunch of recruits and saw some of our commits working hard getting in the ears of our high targetsi really loved how TOB recognized the Wolfpack Warriors ... nice touch also appreciated the separate time for Russelraised about 30K too so nice going pack fans[Edited on April 18, 2009 at 5:15 PM. Great time today....makes me so anxious for Football season
4/18/2009 5:20:09 PM
^yeaRight after I TOB signed my NC state flag, a few guys stepped up for a picture with him. As I walked away, one of those boys yelled that out. People booed some, but nobody really cared too much
4/18/2009 5:31:10 PM
Someone alluded to it earlier, and with the "go gamecocks" thing, I wonder about scouts at things like this. Do other teams put in the effort to scout us at stuff like this? Especially people like USC who play us early and dont have a chance to get our tapes from other opponents.
4/18/2009 5:34:59 PM
crowd/tailgaiting was GREAT!
4/18/2009 5:36:16 PM
i don't think i've been to a red and white game where there were so many people
4/18/2009 5:59:37 PM
Old guy behind us shared his peanuts with us...it was cool talking to somebody that was here when Roman Gabriel played.
4/18/2009 6:03:40 PM
yea, it was awesome all around, i really wonder if we've ever had such a huge turnout for a spring game before?
4/18/2009 6:05:35 PM
I hope TJ graham recovers from injury and develops. Everyone always touts his speed, but he hasn't learned how to play the position yet.
4/18/2009 6:06:13 PM
^tj is on academic disability right now i think
4/18/2009 6:22:49 PM
ah. well that sucks
4/18/2009 6:25:06 PM
official attendance 21,075
4/18/2009 7:10:34 PM
i was standing beside TOB when the guy yelled the gamecocks things too...i was looking for glennon on the field but never saw him... i guess he was standing near TOB? that's strange that i couldn't find him... i stayed until they told us to get off the field
4/18/2009 7:14:44 PM
^ My mama and I did too. We searched high and low for Glennon. FINALLY when they announced 6 minutes to go, he was there by the tunnel. Weird.
4/18/2009 8:30:46 PM
^They are replacing the field before the season starts. Going from the style we have now with a hump in the middle to drain water to a flat field (still grass)
4/18/2009 8:39:07 PM
That'll be nice!! ^ They just bought that huge tarp cover thing from a NFL team right??? So I guess that'll solve the draining issue.
4/18/2009 8:43:46 PM
anyone know if they are gonna paint the endzones this year? i dislike the white words looki know the paint kills the grass, but i just dont see how other schools manage to paint their grass and dont see how the Turf Management people at State can't figure out what to do about it
4/18/2009 8:44:52 PM
20,000 plus at our Red/White Spring football game..that's fucking awesome!! GOD I cant wait until the first home football game! Lets give our guys the BEST Home field advantage for every home game and pack the away sections at our away games! GO PACK!
4/18/2009 9:14:51 PM
well they won't worry too much about hurting the grass because with the new system, they will be resodding it after each season
4/18/2009 10:31:29 PM
^^ It was an amazing turnout. I hear it was the best one thus far. This was my first Spring Game, so I wasn't aware THIS many ppl went. Nice job Pack Nation. *Side note: This was my first one, as I used to go to ALL of the Meet The Pack Days (which I think are no longer) back in the day.*

In a game like today's, there's not a whole lot of separation between the two. Both have cannon arms. Wilson has much better touch, but Glennon's height is a huge help.Put them in a real game, where QB's don't get "sacked" simply with a hand-graze, and Wilson is far and away the better option. At least at this point.

he hurt his fucking spine LAST year, sorry that you got it from the horse's mouth, i guess all the news agencies reporting his knee injury were pulling it out of the horses asshttp://www.newsobserver.com/sports/college/ncsu/football/story/1394324.html
4/19/2009 2:47:26 AM
^that doesn't say he tore his ACL and it says he will be back this year. No one got the story right.[Edited on April 19, 2009 at 2:55 AM. Reason : .]
