I, too, have Warren, but now that I know that he's a poster here, I'm not stupid enough to ask for shit about his class all the time.

^No way man, you'd be in your mum's basement like the rest of us.

Oh, who am I kidding? You're probably right...

if you wanted to practice on old tests, wouldn't the ethical thing to do be to ask the professor?no one is trying to get anyone else in trouble lol

^it's unethical not to talk to dr. warren and see how he feels about it beforehand

i was thinking more like

Dr. Warren himself sends out old exams for us to practice, I'm just looking for more and different versions of the ones he sends (circa 2006). I'm not asking for actual finals, I'm fairly certain no one gets to keep those, but I figured since Dr. Warren emails these practice exams out to everyone that they'd be fair game. However, it looks as if he isn't going to send out the customary practice exam for the final so maybe this is a moot point anyway.

Practice finals have never been given out. You do have six exams now to review: the practice and for-real exams I-III. Of course, there are the lecture note problems and the problems worked in the supplementary files (whose importance I believe has been asseverated by previous posters here); the WA; and text problems. This should keep one busy.Although the kinetics material has not be covered by a previous exam, I believe that the comments made in class regarding it should provide one a fair indication of what sort of problems would be likely candidates for examination. As the evil one has said repeatedly, the key is not to focus so much on the specific problems per se as though the final will necessarily repeat them, but rather to look at the old problems as examples of "type" so that, on the final, one can recognize that "type" of problem again as something familiar and similar, rather than reacting "oh, that problem's been changed" and thus something different and unfamiliar.

i am simply checking in to asseverate the importance of the supplementary materials

I'm taking 201 next semester. A teacher hasnt been official assigned to my class yet, but it will probably be Dr. Warren. I'm must admit, I'm pretty dang excited about finally being in the dreaded 201 with Warren after reading about him up here and seeing the jokes on freshmen for three years now.
4/29/2009 11:16:35 PM
^^ I, too, have felt that dirty sensation
4/30/2009 6:56:30 AM

You'd think that Warren's tests are the most difficult thing that you'll ever have to deal with in life if you only went by what you read on tww.
