40+ points and 40+ rebounds in the same gameWilt's the only player to pull it off, and did it eight times.

Looking back at Chamberlain's stats, it makes me think that he must of been a monster among midgets. In the 1961-1962, Wilt Chamberlain averaged 50.4 PPG and 25.7 RPG!!!That is un-fucking-real.Here's another unreal stat: "He was a lifelong bachelor, but became notorious for his claim to have had sex with 20,000 women, a statement which has entered popular culture." [Edited on April 11, 2009 at 11:17 AM. Reason : I don't know which stat is more impressive.]

Hansbrough: Most Free Throws Attempted, Career: 1,200 [Edited on April 11, 2009 at 8:06 PM. Reason : ]
4/11/2009 7:58:58 PM
Undoubtedly the way sports have evolved, several records from olden days will never be broken.
4/11/2009 8:58:33 PM
Chamberlin never fouled out either. That'll be broken easily if Hansbrough survives in the NBA.
4/11/2009 9:00:31 PM
I doubt anyone will ever break AC Green's record streak of not getting laid as a professional athlete.
4/11/2009 9:05:00 PM
^^^unfortunately many many records ARE broken because of sports evolving as well. If one were to go back and count all 3 point length shots as worth 3 points before the line things would be very different. Plus how freshman couldnt play on the varsity team in bball. DT would have a whole lot more records if he were now what he was thenhow about the 100-0 girls bball game?

with players leaving for the NBA its almost impossible to win back to back ncaa titles, 3 would be out of this world NO COLLEGE BASKETBALL TEAM WILL EVER WIN 7 STRAIGHT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!!so....UCLAs 7 straight is the most unbreakable sports record

UCLA also skirted a lot of NCAA rules.[Edited on April 13, 2009 at 2:31 PM. Reason : So does every other program, but they did it efficiently.]
4/13/2009 2:30:34 PM
nearly impossible one to break:today Jermaine Dye and Paul Konerko became the first teammates to hit "double zero" milestone homeruns, over 300, in the same game.i highly doubt there will ever be THREE teammates who are all sitting on 299, 399 or 499 at the same time
4/13/2009 6:21:09 PM
this thread, i believe, is about unbreakable records...not about stats.

Ryan Ludwick is sitting on a 19-game hit streakover 1/3 of the way there!
4/17/2009 11:03:24 AM
unless sports fall out of the spotlight or civilization ends in the next couple hundred years, all of these records will be broken, and then re-broken, and then broken again.
4/17/2009 11:09:36 AM
^false. the landscape of sports is so different that it makes the UCLA and Canadiens records essentially impossible to break. When Montreal won all those cups, there were only 6 teams and the draft was territorial, leading them to get nearly all of the elite talent available. Hell, the league was set up in a way that made it possible for Toronto to win a cup. Then they had to go and add more teams...
4/17/2009 11:12:41 AM
i agree with the ucla and montreal championships recordsi think the hit streak could definitely be broken though

Stockton's 15,806 assists is probably unbreakable. CP3 has the best shot out of anyone playing today but he's going to need to stay in the league for at least another 15 yrs while continuing to average 10+ assists/game/season.1 John Stockton 15,8062 Mark Jackson 10,3343 Jason Kidd 10,1994 Magic Johnson 10,1415 Oscar Robertson 9,887[Edited on April 17, 2009 at 3:55 PM.
