What was the non-Chris Webber fluke?
8/27/2009 7:41:30 AM
12-0, SWEET
8/27/2009 7:49:43 AM
Fred brown from georgetown randomly passes the ball to james worthy in the '82 championship game with just seconds left. It's not quite as flukish as the chris webber incident because I *think* it was either tied or UNC was up by 1, so it wasn't a foregone conclusion that georgetown would have made a shot on the final possession.
8/27/2009 7:56:57 AM
GT was down 1, that was right after Jordan's shot

Phantom travel call on Nova in 2005.
8/27/2009 10:25:11 AM
UNC was up by 1 against Michigan when Webber called that timeout - same situation as the Georgetown game. And similarly, it was not a foregone conclusion that Michigan was going to score on that last possession. Plus, Webber traveled well before the timeout and wasn't called for it, so I think it's safe to say that the win was no "fluke" predicated on Webber's timeout.

http://www.newsobserver.com/734/story/1682513.html?story_link=email_msgThe N&O forgets to rank NC State.1. Florida (6) 6Much like NCAA investigators, the Gators beat up on the small schools.2. Alabama 12Crimson Tide good in Georgia Dome in September. Now, about December ...3. LSU 23When is an eight-point win at a Pac-10 team cause to worry? When it's at Washington.3. Mississippi 23Never mind Jevan Snead. Dexter McCluster makes that offense go.5. Virginia Tech 34Punter Brent Bowden emerges as a potential star. That's not great news.6. Georgia Tech 43President Obama to ditch public option, go with triple option.7. Georgia 44Look at the schedule: A 1-5 start isn't out of realm of possibility.7. Miami 44Michael Irvin, wherever he is, is very proud.9. North Carolina 60Kelvin Bryant, wherever he is, is very proud.10. Florida State 67Bobby Bowden, wherever he is, is not very proud.11. South Carolina 72May have to wait a few years for that 42-39 win, Coach Spurrier.11. Tennessee 72UCLA's Rick Neuheisel and Lane Kiffin may be too much baby-faceness for one stadium.13. Arkansas 83Solid win over Missouri State should be a big help to RPI rank.13. Clemson 83The ACC is there for the taking. Who wants it is the big question.15. Kentucky 92Nice thing about football wins at UK is they won't be vacated in five years.16. Vanderbilt 95Amy Grant (class of '82), wherever she is, is very proud.17. Auburn 97Gene Chizik now one-fifth of the way to his Iowa State win total.19. Mississippi State 113John Grisham, wherever he is, is writing about epic 45-7 win over Jackson State.20. Boston College 115By the way, Jeff Jagodzinski is looking for work again.21. Wake Forest 116Well, the Jim Grobe love-fest may have to take a year off.22. Maryland 123The men's soccer team has high hopes this year.23. Duke 141Losing to Richmond at home? Could it get any worse?24. Virginia 141Yes. It can.

I honestly have no idea what TaterSalad is bitching about up there
9/10/2009 2:50:18 PM
CLEARLY it should read:"ACC and NC State LEGEND David Thompson to induct some D-bag no name UNC player to something"
9/10/2009 2:53:43 PM
They say "ex-nc state player" as if it was some random player that's introducing mj at the hof. Like people are gonna read "David Thompson to present Jordan at HOF" and think "who the fuck is that?" versus seeing "Ex-NC State player to present Jordan at HOF" and thinking "Well that makes since""Ex nc state player" like it's marcus melvin or will roach

Tuesday Morning Quarterback: Shawn Harris of High Point, N.C., notes that a week ago, Murray State, a Division I-AA team, traveled to Division I North Carolina State in the paid-cupcake role and got steamrolled, 65-7. Bad sportsmanship, obviously, on the part of the Wolfpack for running up the score. But should we feel sympathy for Murray State? No -- because the previous week, the Racers hosted paid cupcake Kentucky Wesleyan, a Division II program, and relentlessly ran up the score to 66-10, including by continuing to throw when ahead 59-10 in the fourth quarter. Murray State, your bad sportsmanship was repaid. Check the stats of the Murray State-Wesleyan contest -- Murray State had three return touchdowns and two safeties, scoring 66 points with just 13 first downs.

Adolf? Come on, you can do much better than that!I'm pretty sure the "late" flyover and subsequent fumble was part of a crafty counter-attack directly against the conspiracy.

did he honestly expect Herb to say anything negative about State?say what you want about Herb's ability or his coaching philosophy, but nobody can deny that he's a very classy individual
9/25/2009 4:40:25 PM
^^^ That story line is so played out it doesn't even come close to getting a rise out of me anymore. If you're so desperate for readership that you have to troll and disparage a fanbase over something that happened 3 years ago, you've likely got as many if not more problems than said fanbase.

LOL at anyone who actually thinks there is a conspiracy. ESPN is basically having NC State appreciation week again this year.
