I don't have a huge arm, but I'm not especially accurate either. I tend to be equally good at all things disc golf, which means I don't have any complete downfalls, but also no specialties. An honest 325 is the most I can hit consistently, so super longer courses tend to bore me(no real chance for exciting ace runs). Despite that, I've heard nothing but good stuff about UNC, so I guess I'll hit that next.

unc is a great course. if you like ace running baskets than you might as well try cornwallis out there in durham too. its like a tighter kentwood. but you arent gonna get too many ace runs at unc unless you are very accurate. there are 2 other courses like 5 mins away from unc, leigh farm and something else. i forget the name. but its right off of 40, the exit you take to get to unc's course except you go the opposite direction to leigh farm rd i think.i got some info on that course in centennial. heard its not worth playing unless they cut up a lot of the kudzu out there. ive got a friend who went out and took pics and said if you wanna play it that you should bring discs you dont care about. other than that he said the tee pads were great

Anyone have thoughts on the gator? Also, if you have one you want to get rid of, let me know. Champ/max wieght would be preferred.
8/27/2009 11:41:16 PM
the gator is my go to flick mid range disc. or skip shot. it also works well as a stall short range thumber.my CE gator will be in my bag until it breaks. always have use for it. sadly i do not have one to trade or sell though.
8/27/2009 11:44:21 PM
I've always just carried rocs, but I feel like that isn't fulfilling my mid potential, even if rancho's are wildly versatile. Even if no one has one avaliable, I'll just pick up a gator from PIA I suppose. Any other mids I need to check out?
8/27/2009 11:52:46 PM
im actually moving away from roc's...they are sometimes unpredictable and always different. i have been diggin some wasps and buzzzs from discraft. wasp is overstable and buzz is similar to a roc, but prob a little less stable (though it varies by which type of plastic). however these discs tend to do the same thing per disc style. whereas a dx roc could do so many different things since innova are dumb sometimes in the way they make discs
8/27/2009 11:56:37 PM
I too have gone towards discraft for my mids. It's like carry one buzz, or carry 5 rocs in different states of wear.Someone said it, it deserves to be restated, Innova for drivers, discraft for mids and gateway for putters.

I don't know if any of you ever played with Eddie Ogburn(EOG), but he was killed last night driving home by some drunk driver. He was only 1 block away and pretty much got T-boned by the guy trying to pass him. The two girls that were with him were injured but are ok now.RIP EOG
8/29/2009 10:27:29 PM
^^exactly my setup. <3s Wizards for putting^i played indoor soccer with him last winter...had a blast with him and that was the first time i really ever met him. never got the chance to play DG with him. extremely sad times for the disc golf community. i think thats 3 or 4 this year that have died or something like that. i knew only 1 though, eddierip http://www.wral.com/news/local/video/5894680/[Edited on August 29, 2009 at 10:52 PM. Damn. I played with him a few times when I was in Raleigh. Pretty cool guy.
8/31/2009 7:40:58 PM
^ Same here. Had the pleasure on a few select occasions before his talent level took off and he turned pro. Great player and a better person. Said a prayer at the Doggett center for him last night. It's just incredibly sad. No other way to put it

Someone that knows Terry G tell him PIA has a clear overstable driver (I'm thinking destroyer/boss) in the used bin.

Aced hole 4 at hornet's nest saturday. 275' thumber around the lightpole bounced a few feet before the basket straight in!!! $235 ACE!I'm gonna get a DG basket... should I get a skillshot or pay a little more for a disccatcher sport?
11/8/2009 9:05:08 PM
I'd go with a dga m-14http://www.discgolfassoc.com/equipment/baskets/m14-discgolf-basket.htmlnice shot by the way
11/8/2009 10:57:10 PM
got my first ace at zebulon last week; hole number 11; 275 ft. sidearm that hit a few feet before the basket and skipped in.i have gotten addicted to this game since starting a few months ago. going to play at valley springs in durham in about 25 min.
11/9/2009 8:36:43 AM
^^ I've owned one previously and was not impressed and sold it. Rusted and chains too spaced out and popped out good putts.^ Congrats on Ace #1. I'm one ace away from double digits. (Too bad (legitimate) eagles don't count).
