I don't really know what I think about Thecycle23 and his team...Not bad, but it could struggle when facing some quality teams.

somebody just dropped Carl Crawford in my leagueis he hurt or something? i know he's kinda overrated, but not so overrated to where you drop him before the season starts unless something else is upany ideas?btw ^^ thats my team, should i drop carpenter for him?ok i just dropped carpenter for him...despite carpenter have no earned runs allowed in 18 innings all spring, he basically pitched about 18 innings combined over the last 2 years, so i expect him to get hurt soon...hopefully Crawford can stay healthy[Edited on March 27, 2009 at 4:55 PM. i'm using the strategy that has won me the last two paid leagues, draft as many good pitchers as possible, fill in hitters, and use pitchers as trade bait if needed. it keeps you from subbing people in all the time and ruining pitching categories. It has worked surprisingly well. not bad...i'm pretty sure Ben Sheets is out for the year though so you might wanna investigate another pitcher

o rly kthx
3/28/2009 11:48:51 PM
actually i was just fucking around some websites and heard he might be back for all star break...still though, he's probably somebody to drop right now
3/28/2009 11:52:45 PM
I had the last pick, so I am #1 on waiver listI just said to drop him and I picked up Gil Meche
3/28/2009 11:59:11 PM
I'm not too high on Royals pitchers not named Soria, but its a deep league and its not like you're drafting dude early, you're making a waiver pickupi'm pretty obsessed with fantasy baseball btw, i finished 3rd 2 years ago and 2nd place last year, i need the gold this year!
3/29/2009 12:05:24 AM
damn i drafted ben sheets too..ill pick up meche too! haha
3/29/2009 12:23:18 AM
i just offered a guy a trade...fransico loriano and bobby abreufor Edinson Vólquez and jason bayis that a good trade? im not so hot on Loriano's spring training...
3/29/2009 12:25:59 AM
honestly Abreu and Bay are comparable players...pretty good average, 20-30 or more homeruns, both in good lineups...and Liriano and Volquez are comparable pitchers...Liriano was a BEAST a couple years ago with Minnesota as a rookie and then got hurt 2 years ago but looked very good last year...Volquez sucked ass with the Rangers but went to Cincy last year and balled the fuck out...honestly I don't see much of an upgrade for either of you with that trade, seems like trading equals
3/29/2009 12:34:44 AM
guy proposed this trade trade (I'm PWNT)PWNT trades Grady Sizemore, Cle OF to Leghorn'sMATT trades Jermaine Dye, CWS OF to All-StarzMATT trades Justin Verlander, Det SP to All-Starzyou know who i have in my team, should i take this ?
3/30/2009 4:47:37 PM
lol at dweedle playing baseballhis team will be abandoned by June
3/30/2009 4:55:15 PM
I wouldn't do it...Grady is a top 10 fantasy player...Dye might give you another 30 HR year, but so might Grady, plus 30 stolen bases, and he's a lot younger than Dye...Verlander was pretty bad last year...4+ ERA, 11-17 record, 2:1 K:BB ratio...your existing pitchers are already pretty goodI wouldn't do it
3/30/2009 4:57:32 PM
i already declined another trade by this guyhe keeps proposing more and the season hasnt even started, i know thats not uncommon, but i like what i have
3/30/2009 4:58:51 PM
Ive got an offer in a keeper league of Heath Bell for Ryan Spillbourgh.Ive already got Fuentes, Wood, Street, and Rodney (Det) as potential close options. Usually you need 3 to really compete in saves in this league. What do yall think of Spillbourgh's chances of being good this year with full time AB's in Colorado?

I have Soria, Jenks and Cordero for saves. As long as they stay healthy I should be ok there. What I need is SP. Thinking of trying to trade one of my big bombers for SP.

derek lowe got 38 pts in the league tonightis that a normal number for an 8-inning shutout performance? the guy that set up the league hasn't done a baseball league before I dont think (and i havent really been a part of one to know how it compares)

So what are some thoughts on my team? Its 16 team, 22 man rosters, standard 5x5 roto. We were allowed 6 keepers and starting this year have a new rule where you can keep one extra player still considered a rookie at the end of the year if he was on your team for more then half the year. As of now thats where LaPorta is fitting in on my roster.C: Brandon Inge1B: Carlos Pena 2B: Chase Utley 3B: Jorge CantuSS: Ryan TheriotOF: Magglio Ordonez OF: Jermaine Dye OF: Ryan LudwickUtil: Johnny Damon BN: Emilio BonifacioBN: Matt LaPortaSP: Josh Johnson, Edwin Jackson, Jarrod Washburn, Brandon Webb (DL)RP: Carlos Marmol, BJ Ryan, Brad Ziegler, Joel Hanrahan, Octavio Dotel, David AardsmaProvided BJ Ryan picks it up again then I should be able to make a run at saves. Although saves is one of the more contested categories in our league, anyone who at some point might have a save is probably picked up. I've considered abandoning saves and trying to put together a better rotation but with Webb out now (Hoping its just temporary like most say it is) my rotation needs a ton of work. I might be better off ditching W's and holding out for saves. Offensively I think I have one of the more all around solid teams in the league but I really need my outfielders to get to work.Any thoughts?

i dont know whats dumber, the fact that you took pitchers with your 1st two picks, or the fact that braun fell to you at your 3rd pick.[Edited on April 13, 2009 at 10:23 PM. Reason : yea]
4/13/2009 10:20:59 PM
^Without both of those pitchers, I would have definitely lost week 1. Plus, pretty much everyone that was picked in that same area of the draft, that I could have had instead, are struggling. I have so much depth overall at the moment pretty much everywhere, so I don't see it as a dumb move. I'll give you the Braun argument, I couldn't believe he was there either. Someone took Papelbon over Braun, which I couldn't help but laugh at. But, I got guys like Kemp in round 13, and Ethier off the waiver wire (someone actually got rid of him). I have made some cuts and trades, and should win the league, so I have no problem with what I did.

^pitchers are a dime a dozen in fantasy... the top tier batters... not so much
