Actually no I didn't pay attention during the credits, but to my defense, it wouldn't be the first time they said there would be another season and then bail. Still happy that there will supposedly be another season.

wrong on both counts, this show is the best thing on TV except for Breaking Bad...don't judge it before you've watched it.

Whatever dude, it's an awesome show. The best TV critic around even had it on his top 10 shows of 2008:
Quote :
""Burn Notice," about a disgraced spy (Jeffrey Donovan) doing freelance vigilante work while trying to get back in the espionage racket, raised its game in season two. Donovan played splendidly off of sidekicks Bruce Campbell and Gabrielle Anwar, and never seemed dull as the man who has an answer for every situation, no matter how dangerous."

OH MY, THEN IT MUST BE TRUE.

and tied for tenth best show on TV isn't exactly splooge-worthy. Especially when the same guy puts fucking Chuck at number 4.

just like your clever and insightful criticism of Burn Notice's use of voice over narration means it's a shitty show, right?

it's also won numerous awards:
Quote :
"The pilot episode written by Matt Nix won a 2008 Edgar Allan Poe Award, honoring the best in mystery, in the category "Best Television Episode Teleplay".[6] David Raines, Scott Clements and Sherry Klein were nominated for "Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series" for Burn Notice Series (One-Hour)" at the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2008.[7] John Dickson won a 2008 ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards for "Top TV Series". Craig S. O'Neill and Jason Tracey were nominated for a 2009 Writers Guild of America, USA award for "Episodic Drama" (episode "Double Booked")."

I really don't see why you want to come in to a thread for a show you've never watched to troll people for no reason. Burn Notice is an excellent show, if you don't think it looks good fine but the fact that you've never watched it and continue to hate on it only demonstrates your ignorance. I'm sure all the shit you watch on TV is much better

It's the fucking internet. Discussions happen here. Welcome. Do you have any points other than "best show on tv, omg. look at its sound mixing awards."

I would watch it if I could stand voiceover. The only shows I've ever seen do voiceover right that come to mind are Dexter and Arrested Development.

Pretty much. I rarely keep up with television shows. When I do, it's for shows like Breaking Bad.

I'm tempted to actually watch it now, lol.

Do you have any points other than "omg the voice over on the commercial annoys me"? And for the record only one of the like 5 awards was for sound mixing.

fair enough, if you just don't like voiceover that's fine, but don't act like your personal dislike of voiceover means anything that uses it is terrible.

Like I said before I think Breaking Bad is the best thing on TV since The Wire ended

you should, but start from the beginning...it's got a great mix of humor and action, it's the perfect show for the summer

I just wanted to post that Bweez is being a fag here. Michael's voice overs help the show. I like hearing all of the smart things he has to say.

This article pretty much so sums up my feelings on the show's use of voiceovers.

Quote :
"The staccato, tight use of the voiceovers on Burn Notice really work. Unlike the narration on other shows, they're information packed and move the story. Michael rarely gets poetic or philosophical. It's meat-and-potatoes data and that's just right for the character."

I dunno, it seems like new season, same shit, random people(now the local cops start paying attention to him blowing shit up?) start to give him shit while he goes around saving kids and helping other random innocent good doing citizens out. I loved the first 2 seasons, but it just seems like the formula is starting to get old .

did you miss the part where they said the agency from season 1 was keeping everyone off of him before? it is a formula show...there is an ongoing plot with his problem of being burned (which is now the fact he has no protection from cops/other agencies/other countries/etc) and every week he helps someone out. kind of like how dexter has an ongoing plot each season (ice truck killer, them looking for the bay butcher, etc) with each episode dexter killing someone who did a wrong (for the most part)

Was season 1 of this show not in HD? Asking because you can't get Season 1 on bluray but you can get Season 2 so I'm figuring that's the case. Just getting into this show and I feel I need to start from the beginning.

^And yeah I read an article that mentioned that Michael Weston would be on the show this season, thought it was a nice touch.

I think guy playing Michael's ticket back is just another part of the people that burned him.

It looks like the finale has Fiona getting kidnapped and Michael fighting his way back to her.

Diego Garza seems to play a larger role here too.

and it looks like season 4 has been picked up for another 16 episodes
