4/12/2009 6:20:26 PM
what the fuck kinda idiot hall of fame manager hits soriano leadoff
4/12/2009 9:20:35 PM
DAMN... Johnson just brought a grandslam back
4/12/2009 10:09:37 PM
^That was a ridiculous catch
4/12/2009 10:11:20 PM
even Prince had to acknowledge that catch
4/12/2009 10:12:42 PM
that was an amazing catch, though the replays from the side didn't give it its due
4/12/2009 10:16:14 PM
2 series - 2 series wins
4/12/2009 11:33:17 PM

What a game.Go Cubs
4/17/2009 5:04:26 PM
bullpen
4/17/2009 5:05:25 PM
so is Marmol officially the closer now or had Gregg just pitched consecutive days or something?
4/17/2009 5:05:37 PM
Zambrano pwnd by the Cardinals as usual but then the STL bullpen shows up....[Edited on April 17, 2009 at 5:08 PM. Reason : ^He should be, Gregg is not great]
4/17/2009 5:08:25 PM
Gregg is not great, but he's pretty good, and Marmol is great as a setup guy...I think Lou will be torn
4/17/2009 5:12:16 PM
Today proves that Lou trusts Marmol more than anyone else in the bullpen; Gregg will remain the "official" closer though. It's also pertinent to remember that Marmol racked up a lot of saves last year despite Wood being closer.[Edited on April 17, 2009 at 5:16 PM. Reason : ]
4/17/2009 5:15:00 PM
meh, he had 7 last year compared to Wood's 34Gregg had 32 2 years ago in Florida and 29 last year in Florida...he also had the cool distinction of getting a Save and a Win in the same day (double header)I just figured when they got rid of Wood, they'd promote Marmol...the fact they even signed Gregg was confusing
4/17/2009 5:18:36 PM
I guess this doesn't really apply to a closer, but I should've said Marmol had a lot of 9th inning appearances last year
4/17/2009 5:24:48 PM
Marmol is such a good pitcher, he's worth having on a fantasy team in a shallow league simply for his ERA, WHIP and Ks, regardless that he doesn't get a ton of savesCould be worse though...they could have a solid closer, and a shitty setup guy who always blew holds
4/17/2009 5:25:56 PM
a couple pics i took at Hohokam Park in Mesa, AZ during a spring training gameCubs/Giants game
4/17/2009 7:44:06 PM
fantasy wise:marmol as SU is finejust stay away from marmol as closer
4/18/2009 4:33:16 PM
LULZ
4/18/2009 6:04:52 PM
wow, what a win today over the Cards.... i hate that I can't watch this game on mlbtv. out here in denver I get to see the hapless rockies....what's the point of mlbtv if i can't watch "out of market games" on saturday????
4/18/2009 7:42:18 PM
4/28/2009 10:21:20 PM
Its April.
4/29/2009 1:11:14 AM
It is and Bradley has played about half the team's games. The guy is a cancer even when he is good which obviously right now he is not. I would not want him near my team.
4/29/2009 9:12:37 AM
No one is going to argue with you that his signing didn't have certain risks, but let the season play out.
4/29/2009 11:23:39 AM
This team has not been looking so hot. Thanks to the Riot for the GS today, else I'd be falling into even more of a pit of depression.
5/1/2009 8:13:39 PM
i certainly would have preferred keeping derosa, but there's plenty of season left for bradley to get comfortable/not team-destroying.
5/2/2009 2:09:49 AM
Anyone have a link or know where to find games on CSC or anything?
5/2/2009 1:25:00 PM
Good start to a cycle attempt by Theriot. Too bad he's doing it against my Marlins At least hes on my fantasy squad
5/2/2009 1:57:33 PM
1/2 a game back. Soriano, Riot are rolling.
5/14/2009 7:39:27 AM
I pity the Cubs' 8 game losing streak and 4th place rank in the division
5/26/2009 9:42:49 AM
At the cubs game tonight, in the bleacher seats right behind me, the two couples dressed in cub gear were more interested in playing drunken grabass whiteness with each other rather than watching the cubs try to mount an eventual failed comeback (they lost 2-1). still, they were only down 2-1 at the 7th inning stretch!! though, they were still down 2-1 at the top of 8th...hence the stream of cub fans leaving (!?!)fans also consistently booed soriano despite him going something like 2 for 3 (not sure on the sheet) with a base hit in the bottom of the ninth. this is why I hate cub fans and not the cubs.c'mon man!(yes, I was at a cubs game for my brother's birthday, didn't wear anything offensive and grew immediately tired of the token white sox fan who not only applauded cub failure but made sure to look back to see if anyone saw him applauding before his girlfriend grabbed him down to his seat)
7/8/2009 1:48:58 AM
Only 3 games back with plenty of ball to play. Id love to see us make the playoffs again and maybe just maybe win a damn game this year. Otherwise let the next 100 years of world series drought begin I suppose. Im not getting any younger and one of the things on my list to do before I die is see the Cubs win a world series lol
7/8/2009 8:47:14 AM
I'm stoked for tonight! My boss's brother has been named starting pitcher!
7/8/2009 11:25:30 AM
Kevin Hart? coolHe's got a good ERA but really needs to work on that 1:5 K:BB ratio
7/8/2009 11:26:37 AM
Yea... he's got this thing where he'll absolutely kill it in the minors for awhile and get called up. once he's in the game, he starts to flub though.I believe this is his first game as a starter and Lou has said that he'll probably remain in rotation, so the whole Hart family flew up to Chicago this morning to watch and celebrate.
7/8/2009 11:34:58 AM
holy shit.[Edited on July 15, 2009 at 2:07 AM. Reason : k]
7/15/2009 2:07:12 AM
here's to hoping they catch fire in the second half of the season.....
7/16/2009 2:55:41 PM
FUCKMatt Holliday to Cards.
7/24/2009 12:59:05 PM
^ While I think that it is worth the loss to the Cards to acquire Holliday, I am not completely sold that he is that great of a hitter when he doesn't have Coors to rely on 50% of the time. His stats in Oakland were bad, granted it is a pitcher's park. I do think it'll make Pujols more deadly as he'll get more pitches to it.If Holliday gets back to somewhat hitting like he did with the Rockies and Ludwick hits like he did last year, that is a scary 3-4-5.
7/24/2009 1:13:07 PM
.28611hrs54rbsI wouldn't call that bad at all. Especially in Oakland.
7/24/2009 2:41:36 PM
