Anyone who thinks the traffic backs up on I-40 b/c of people merging over from Harrison Blvd is a fool. Its pretty obvious that the traffic backs up BECAUSE IT GOES DOWN TO TWO LANES. The people merging from Harrison don't help, but they're not the main cause.

I don't think N. Harrison is the primary problem, but it definitely adds to it. It's pretty obvious when traffic is flowing all the way to the N. Harrison bridge and then you spend 5 minutes trying to get past the N. Harrison entrance only to have it pick back up again as soon as you are past the entrance ramp.

So then what was the reason yesterday? The two lanes that stay on I-40 were backed up almost 1/2 mile from the split with Wade Ave, and yet there was next to no cars coming into I-40 from Harrison...

And I see this phenomena often.

honestly, i think people get scared of the turn at the top of the hill

they go around it and then it's OH SHIT THERE'S CARS ON THIS ROAD AFTERALL
