Kevin Love with more speed, less range and no outlet pass.

^^ A better comparison would be the love affair people had with Julius Hodge. Granted, I thought he'd be better than a D-leaguer, but anybody able to put aside their fandom could see that his ugly jumper, lack of explosiveness, and starvin' Marvin physique were going to be huge liabilities in the NBA.

I think Hansbrough will have a very Cherokee Parks kind of career (that should piss of some UNC fanboys). We'd probably love Tyler if he was playing here, and guys on this site would be talking about how his hard work will get him the kind of pro success that Chris Weber should have had if he had been willing to work as hard as "psycho T." The estimates of 8 and 5 for his career are probably right on. His skillset just doesn't translate to the NBA game. He's not big enough to be a 4, he's not athletic enough to play the 3... hell, he really not even athletic enough to be a 4 now that I think about it. He'll hand around for a decade and be a bench contributor, but that's it.

I wouldn't want Hansbrough on the Wolfpack because if he played for State, he would have about 50 career foul-outs and would always have his 3rd foul before the last first half TV timeout

^I would argue against that.

DT scored 73 in one NBA game. That's something Michael Jordan never did.

if Hansbrough played for the Wolfpack he'd get called for traveling and offensive fouls for barreling into people out of control.

I don't think he'll be great - but I also thought Carlos Boozer would be a flop because he's shorter than other forwards, and he's pretty damn good. One thing Hansbrough has going for him is that he puts in the effort to improve his game, so he'll likely continue getting better. As I said, I don't expect him to be a star, but he'll likely be a serviceable starter somewhere.

He's not coordinated, not a good shooter, and not good defensively.

Jordan will take him.

did everyone see the shot he made to set the UNC scoring record??? it was classic hansbrough. going to his left but shooting with his right hand while leaning into the defender, looking as stupid as ever, but making it.

and for the purpose of this thread, just the type of shot that dwight howard will put into the third row of seats at the nba level.

i will just be glad when he is gone from unc b/c in college he is great

^^Karl Hess and friends won't be helping him shoot 300 free throws a year in the NBA.

He shot half the amount of free throws that OUR TEAM did last year. Unfucking believable.

He'll play behind Sean May and fade away.

Isnt the NBA less strict about traveling calls? I bet Hansbrough can take advantage of that.

Why does this thread have no pics?

I dont think Hansbrough did anything wrong there, Valaciunas (sp?) initiated the whole thing.

Hansbrough did blow his first three years but he's actually an above average PF this year unfortunately.

I will never forget him travelling on two straight open layup/dunk attempts in the playoffs last year though hahahaha. I've never seen that before in the NBA it was hysterical how stupid he looked on such a big stage.

And LOL at someone comparing him to David Lee. David Lee was a star player in NYK as a PF. He's slipped a lot in GSW because they played him out of position as a Center for a few years.

And Kevin Love? Jesus christ. Only one of the best players in the NBA (this year excluded due to injuries). How did he get compared to him at all?

And LOL at Russell Wilson Super Bowl MVP's being mentioned. He wasn't that far off this year.

oh wow, 2008 spooner's assessment wasn't too far off:

Has he been fined for flopping yet?

They should fine their college coaches for flopping because its not taught in the NBA. But this would be harsh on Roy and K.
