Oh we will win in impressive fashion too. Get some more votes. Then promptly turn around and lose to Winston-Salem State.

that's some nc state shit
12/3/2008 8:32:15 AM
I heard Nate Irving was coming in to guard Curry. Any truth to this?
12/3/2008 9:51:28 AM
^sounds good...but curry would drop 60, then Nate would suck his dick.
12/3/2008 11:11:23 AM
looks like this game won't be in HD FSC HD was just added today, however

I'll be there with two others in red. Unfortunately one of those that will be wearing red will have Davidson written across their shirt. My mom is a huge Davidson fan. She used to go to a bunch of games back in the day. She still talks about the Lefty Driesell days every now and then. I actually went to the Davidson campus today so that I could go to the bookstore and get her a new shirt. I also got her two jerseys, one red and one white, both with #30 on them (that's Curry's # for those that don't know). Davidson has a nice campus. Way smaller than State's though, but there was plenty of brick and they have brick sidewalks so it almost felt like I was back at State.
12/3/2008 10:18:03 PM
yeah, but they have been to the elite eight some time in the last 20 years, so they are not like nc state at all
12/3/2008 10:21:10 PM
Nate Irving:Football as Simon Harris:Basketball

^x4 what does Davidson having gone to the Elite Eight last year have anything to do with them having a lot of brick on their campus like NC State
12/3/2008 11:05:39 PM
12/3/2008 11:39:32 PM
haha I wondered if anyone was gonna bite on that
12/3/2008 11:42:35 PM
Fells will shut Curry down under 20 pts and go to NBA next year
12/4/2008 9:59:10 AM
Everyone saying that Fells is going to guard Curry: I agree that on paper, Fells should be the one we put on him. He's long, athletic, and generally regarded as a good defender. But he has a couple of things working against him when guarding smaller players. One: as athletic as he is, he doesn't have great lateral quickness. He actually gets beat off the dribble fairly often when guarding smaller, quicker players. Two, he's not a very disciplined defender. He seems to bite on pump fakes, crossovers, etc quite often. This is what Curry thrives on.Three, being an athletic defender is only one half of the equation. The other half is want-to. I have no doubt Fells plays hard when he's out there, but he doesn't seem to go all out on the defensive end (IE fighting through screens, taking charges, hustling in general). That's why I think Javi -- who plays as gritty as anyone -- would be a better matchup. He's going to need a lot of help, though.
12/4/2008 10:21:37 AM
Fells could guard Curry...but part of Davidson's offense isn't for Curry to take people one-on-one...its for him to come off a couple screens, catch and immediately shoot...on some old JJ Redick slash Davis Wesley type shit...or Reggie Miller...my point is, it doesn't matter as much who is guarding him face up, what matters is giving help with all the picks they set for him and switching and communicating
12/4/2008 10:30:04 AM
man lucky for us, help defense is our SPECIALTY.
12/4/2008 10:37:58 AM
Javi are you kidding? we'd get lit up for 80 by him.
12/4/2008 10:39:58 AM
So would anybody else on our team
12/4/2008 10:47:27 AM
CJ wont
12/4/2008 10:49:17 AM
Possibly, but I sure as hell don't want a true freshman on the best scorer in college basketball.
12/4/2008 11:09:21 AM
Degand would be more ideal to guard him I would think if healthy....He is our quickest player and is about the same size as Curry.
12/4/2008 11:26:20 AM
True. I know it's been asked before, but did we have Degand on him last year? I remember Curry got hot, but didn't kill us.
12/4/2008 11:32:05 AM
It doesn't matter who guards Curry. He is going to score. He is averaging 29 ppg in 32 minutes. and that is with playing 30 min. against loyola and not scoring a point. We just have to try and limit him and make sure everyone else is contained. IMO, him scoring isn't the worst thing for our team. If you stop everyone else and let him get 40 I say we still win. They key though is to STOP everyone else. You can't have him go for 40 and let two other guys score 12 and another 10. Curry is great but if he is scoring that much he is going to be taking a lot of shots and he won't make them all. Contain him the best you can, shut everyone else down and that gives us the best chance to win. Some team played them earlier, Loyola, and said there goal was to not let Curry score a point but everyone else went off and Davidson killed them. Not the way to beat them IMO.
12/4/2008 11:39:59 AM
Pizza Party?
12/4/2008 11:42:06 AM
Degand at 100% would be a good option for Curry...as would switching defenders.
12/4/2008 11:52:49 AM
12/4/2008 3:26:19 PM
Who did guard Curry last year? Don't really remember, but I want to say it was a combo of Degand, Fells, Grant. No matter what, he still put up 29pts. He was 10-24 from the floor, with 7-15 being from behind the arc. Also made a couple free throws.... 2-2.Big game. GO PACK!
12/4/2008 5:07:46 PM
12/4/2008 5:10:42 PM
Switch all screens and deal with the recovery. We are just going to have to play good team defense and shoot at a high percentage (> 50%)[Edited on December 4, 2008 at 8:00 PM. Reason : /]
12/4/2008 8:00:19 PM
As a Wolfpack Alum, Ill be pulling for the Pack.....and after watching the Davidson/Oklahoma game..all I have to say is..."Pack you guys better be ready for ONE HELL OF A GAME!!" When Oklahoma got up by as many as 17 against Davison early in teh second half..Curry and company came storming back and if it had not been for poor free throw shooting Davidson would of beat the then #9 team in teh country... ..we'll see what Sat. brings.....
12/5/2008 12:33:45 AM
I don't feel all that optimistic about this game, but I think we could win.Maybe we keep the "state championship" alive through basketball season
12/5/2008 3:13:32 AM

Davidson: 76NCSU: 48Book it.
12/5/2008 1:38:17 PM
Curry can toy with anyone we put on him one on one, we need to shut the other guys down and let him go for 35, who cares, he can't score 80 on his own. When he strats to create for his teammates, and opens up his game even more is when I would get worried. That 4 on 3 a week or two ago was pretty humorous, hey can't blame that coach for trying something new
12/5/2008 1:42:31 PM
^^^That's the point. We have nobody to guard him...
12/5/2008 1:43:44 PM
I think we can switch Fells and Degand on him and be ok if Degand is close to 100%. Lowe said he had 5 days in a row before thanksgiving where he practiced full speed and didn't have pain so hopefully he'll be solid at least on D tomorrow.Fells has been known to have his best games on D against some good players when he's challenged.
