Looks to me like Carolina is raping the Broncos
12/14/2008 6:18:41 PM
but delhomme keeps throwing SHITTY PASSES!SEE? PICK!]
12/14/2008 6:19:07 PM
Well, he just threw a good one, and then he immediately threw an interception right after that.
12/14/2008 6:20:51 PM
if he could just get a decent pass to smith i'd be up by more than 28 in my fantasy team and i wouldn't have to worry about losing in the playoffs!
12/14/2008 6:23:09 PM
FUCK DAT I JUST WIN
12/14/2008 7:07:49 PM
^^ should have drafted better. I was number 1 going into the playoffs and comfortably rolling to the championship game.
12/14/2008 7:09:17 PM
^currently up 32 points, top seed in the playoffs, and you're saying I should have drafted better?
12/14/2008 7:10:17 PM
post here when we're 11-3 this year with him after going 5-8 without him last year]
12/14/2008 7:17:36 PM
Post here when he overthrew several possible touchdown passes. We did horrible because we didn't have a quarterback, not because we didn't have delhomme.
12/14/2008 7:43:18 PM
matt moore != x*quarterbackjake delhomme = x*quarterback when x=(1/2)
12/14/2008 7:58:48 PM
he's no peyton manning, but he gets way too much shit
12/14/2008 10:07:47 PM
he deserves x*shit as x approaches infinity
12/14/2008 10:20:10 PM
I give him so much shit because he gets too much credit. He's a mediocre qb at best and the announcers treat him like hot shit, even though he's thrown away games with absolutely pointless stupid int's.
12/14/2008 10:21:36 PM
he gets too much credit? are you serious? and what games has he thrown away with costly picks lately?i know he's not one of the top QB's in the league, and yeah he makes some mistakes, but he's like 47-29 with i think 19 4th quarter comebacks and a 5-2 playoff record...he's clutch and he gets a lot of shit[Edited on December 14, 2008 at 10:34 PM. Reason : .]
12/14/2008 10:30:02 PM
I think I can count more games that he's come from behind to win than he's thrown away.
12/14/2008 10:34:39 PM
slingblade thinks hes not being a sheep but in reality he is a sheep following a more incompetent shepherd

12/14/2008 10:37:07 PM
slingblade is cool but i think jake gets too much shit
12/14/2008 10:40:16 PM
I'm just sick of the announcers blowing air up his butthole as I watch him overthrow wide open people over and over again. This is the first season i've regularly watched football (i've always had to work on weekends until now) so my memory is very limited. I can't tell you specifics but I do remember just about every game being pissed off at him. The only game I vividly remember is the falcons a few years back when he threw an INT around his own 20 yd line to lose the game with like 1 minute left. There was absolutely nobody near where he threw the ball.
12/14/2008 10:46:59 PM
5 or 6 losses in 2006, he played like shit can't remember if he specifically cost us all of them, but he really should be held with some responsibility for it. 07 he played 3 games. 08 we've won despite him playing like shit a few games (thanks to one of the best running attacks in the NFL) and he certainly didn't help carolina's cause in any of our losses this year.^he threw a pick six, then the game went to OT and he throws a pick around the 20 in OT and we lose.]
12/14/2008 10:51:33 PM
what about the san diego game? what about his performance in the arizona game, despite the defense letting kurt warner throw all over him? obviously the defense and running game had his back in the oakland game, but how many times has delhomme orchestrated a late game, game-winning drive? a whole fucking bunch of times
12/14/2008 10:53:25 PM
Are you really going to give him credit for the SD game? how many times this year has rivers lead SD to a would be 4th quarter winning drive only to have the defense give up a game losing TD? it all started with that game. SD's defense was non-existant and as time expires he throws a prayer into the endzone, which a decent defense in their right mind would have easily either picked off or at least swatted down. only 56% completions on the day. he played like shit the rest of the game, and didn't do anything before SD decided they didn't want to win the game.for the arizona game, he didn't play poorly, but he's glad he has steve smith at WR. without steve smith panthers do not win that game.delhomme played pretty poorly today. somewhere around about 7 overthrown balls, 2 or 3 of which would have been TDs.
12/14/2008 11:07:12 PM
if steve smith is so good (which he is, i'm not arguing that) then how come last year he couldnt will us to victory with david carr and testaverde passing to him?besides, and i'll ask what i always ask, who do we bring in to replace jake?
12/14/2008 11:22:42 PM
^ Cassel Delhomme fucking sucks. Its our defense/rushing/and steve smith who are keeping us in
12/14/2008 11:25:02 PM
whats cassell done in the post season?
12/14/2008 11:26:03 PM
we get by with delhomme when we have our WR core (which is very good). he'll cost us a few game, but as long as we can run the ball, play good defense, and manage to get the ball in smith's hands, we can win games. either this next draft or the draft after (more likely the draft after) we need to draft a top rated QB.
12/14/2008 11:26:07 PM
We need to draft a qb.
12/14/2008 11:26:29 PM
why draft when there is already proven talent in cassel..... you know he's going to leave new england once brady comes back.
12/14/2008 11:27:34 PM
we dont draft QBs in the first round...if you want that become a fan of another team...we draft players in the first round on defense and either o-linemen or running backs...how long does it take for you guys to figure out we're not a pass happy team?
12/14/2008 11:27:41 PM
with two pretty stout receivers i'd just like someone who can place a ball a little better.
12/14/2008 11:28:57 PM
when was the last time drafting a QB was the right idea based on where we are picking, the QBs available, and our needs as a team? the last time we drafted a QB in the first round.
12/14/2008 11:29:48 PM
12/14/2008 11:30:28 PM
no no no. he may have tired to throw it out of bounds, but the hit (which to my memory came after the throw) had no impact on the shitty job he did doing so. if you're going to throw it out of bounds, throw it wayy out of bounds. that was directly to the DB with no WR near it. it was almost as if he was throwing the game. the next int was just as bad to a LB.
12/14/2008 11:32:40 PM
i think this is one of those debates that will always be divided but i'll leave you with this for my thoughtshe's not a superstar QB, but he gets the job done and he's good for our run game / defense / field position style of football...and he gets way too much shit from panthers fans...they like to think there are tom bradys and peyton mannings out in free agency just waiting to get signed
12/14/2008 11:32:47 PM
i realize there's not much in the FA market. the big names usually don't move. we get by with delhomme because we aren't pass happy, but we'd get by with orton as long as the run game is going and the defense is stopping people. we need someone to not make mistakes (delhomme is far from perfect, and i'd like someone a little closer) and someone who if he had to, could help win a game for us.
