Jaybee will call me a moron.. but Urban Meyer, one day, will be the Notre Dame head coach. Not saying it's going to happen this year, but one day he will...lol and the first google search from a week ago:http://blogs.suntimes.com/notredame/2008/11/must_reading_urban_meyer_to_nd.html[Edited on November 30, 2008 at 9:04 PM. i forget what happened after he left Utah exactly, didn't he turn ND down then for UF?
11/30/2008 9:05:23 PM
Basically his wife turned them down. He has never backed down from it being his "dream job." If Florida wins next week it absolutely won't happen, but if he loses... it makes it interesting at the very least.*** Like I said, I don't think the time is right yet, but it will be within the decade...[Edited on November 30, 2008 at 9:07 PM. 11/30/2008 9:06:22 PM
gotcha, read the article you linked (or what showed up for me)..very interesting though, that's gotta make some Florida fans uneasy... I guess if his son is still young he may stick with UF for awhile, like you said
11/30/2008 9:08:59 PM
if UF win next week then Urbs stays at UF lose, he is gone to ND
12/1/2008 11:11:17 AM
I have no clue y you would wanna leave florida for nd... maybe 20 years ago... not today[Edited on December 1, 2008 at 11:14 AM. Reason : ]
12/1/2008 11:13:06 AM
b/c he has stated in the past that its his dream job???????????????????????
12/1/2008 11:17:57 AM
he must like the cold.i know i'd much rather be in indiana than florida.[Edited on December 1, 2008 at 11:20 AM. Reason : and it's not like ND is an unsalvagable situation. meyer is an awesome coach and recruiter.]
12/1/2008 11:19:02 AM
NO WAY he leaves Florida.TEBOW will be a senior next season. That defense starts 0 seniors and only 4 juniors.Percy Harvin, Jeffrey Demps, Chris Rainey are Junior, Freshman and Freshman respectivelyTHIS TEAM WILL BE LOADED NEXT SEASONNo way he leaves this season
12/1/2008 11:55:42 AM

exactly, that definitely stopped butch davis too !

The biggest things working against ND if they were to pursue Meyer are:The Gators know Meyer is a target. They can preemptively work to keep him financially. It is easier to recruit at Florida than at Notre Dame. I'm talking logistics. Proximity to talent.Jeremy Foley is a better AD than just about anyone. The biggest things working for ND are the total size of their wallet, and the fact that they are Notre Dame. My prediction: Meyer will be the highest paid coach in football starting next year, and the beneficiary of the ND rumor mill. And still a Gator.
12/1/2008 12:47:11 PM
Well Urbs has said now that he will discuss it after the SEC title game so to say that "NO WAY he leaves Florida" is a little premature.Signed,Nick Satan

this is the first time in a while that I hope one of our coaches doesn't leave
12/2/2008 10:32:35 AM
im not worried
12/2/2008 10:37:58 AM
If Meyer feels like he has something to prove then going to ND would be the way to do that so I wouldnt count it out.
12/2/2008 10:47:35 AM
this is another article about why Urbs would go to ND.its a little old but this was the first i had seen of it.my appologies for a repost if so:http://www.floridatoday.com/article/20081120/COLUMNISTS0306/811200343/1065/SPORTS

TUBERVILLE FIREDhttp://www.wtvm.com/Global/story.asp?S=9453447
12/3/2008 5:24:07 PM
He'll land on his feet at Mississippi State and make the Ole Miss crowd even more angry with him.
12/3/2008 5:35:13 PM
He would have been a good fit for Clemson.
12/3/2008 5:36:18 PM
Butch Davis to Auburn?
12/3/2008 5:37:25 PM
No no, Petrino to Auburn, Butch to Arkansas
12/3/2008 5:38:05 PM
FFS and people said State fans have unrealistic expectations. Programs are firing coaches only a few years after being jobbed out of the national championship game by the BCS?! [Edited on December 3, 2008 at 6:48 PM. Reason : d]

I can't believe TT is out. Auburn's crazy. They fired a guy with a winning record against bama who also went undefeated in the SEC.
12/3/2008 9:15:11 PM
^It's really not that surprising, they already tried to fire him once (right before he went undefeated in 2004)
12/3/2008 10:19:09 PM
Is the SEC eroding, losing Tuberville, Fulmer and Croom? I think all three schools we be lucky if they find replacements that match the success of the guys they fired.SEC coaches be warned. Your one bad OC away from getting hit in the ass by the door.
12/3/2008 11:05:49 PM
^Croom? Haha are you black? He had one decent year.....look what Jackie Sherrill did at Miss State.Fulmer and Tuberville neither should have been fired....
12/3/2008 11:11:50 PM
Croom doesn't belong on that list... he didn't have any success that can't be replicated by many other coaches.
12/3/2008 11:14:28 PM
Croom represented MSU well. He needed a little more time to develop the players and showed glimpses of what he could have built. The popular thought is that someone high up wanted him to get rid of his OC, but he wanted to keep his staff in-tact, so rather than firing his OC he stepped down on his own. It's not like he had a lot of talent to work with anyways.
12/3/2008 11:15:00 PM
12/3/2008 11:16:08 PM
I know. What I mean is that MSU wasn't exactly a place that you could bring in top recruits all the time. They can't exactly recruit with LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, UGA, and UF. Heck they can't even really keep up with Arkansas. Croom did have a nice looking class so far though. #21 in the nation according to Rivals. It'd probably drop outside of the Top 25 when all is said and done, but it would still be better than their classes that were in the 40s.[Edited on December 3, 2008 at 11:21 PM. Reason : ]

yea this tuberville thing is madness... if anyone can scoop him up they are lucky
12/4/2008 9:57:09 AM
Tuberville and Fulmer both did great things at their schools but their time was up. The SEC has evolved and these schools wanted to go in another direction.I would love for Tuberville to land in the ACC or back in the SEC.Fulmer would be a good coach at somewhere like West virginia or Texas A&M
12/4/2008 10:54:11 AM
Steve Sarkisian, USC's Offensive Coordinator, Assistant Head Coach, and Quarterbacks Coach, will be the head coach of Washington next year.
12/4/2008 9:40:22 PM
I figured he'd get a job somewhere.. just not in the Pac-10
12/4/2008 10:20:13 PM
Tuberville, and Fulmer will do good things for any school's lucky enough to pick em up
12/4/2008 10:39:00 PM
Clemson should have waited and grabbed Tub. He would've rocked there.
12/4/2008 11:37:05 PM
tuberville looks too much like tommy bowden to go to clemson.
12/4/2008 11:47:16 PM
Tuberville would be a great fit at Louisville
