The reason Hillary got into the trouble she got into with that was that she had been running on a "treat me like one of the guys" stance and then as soon as she started losing she broke out the hanky and boo hooed about how tough it was.

Oh, and how's Albuquerque, I'm considering a move there.

That's your explanation. Personally, I blame the patriarchy.

I'm enjoying the city so far. Your millage may vary. One of my roommates hates it here.

ok fine maybe i should say: mccain campaign--setting women back DECADES. for assuming that all women see a vagina and vote for a vagina

and this is my point:
Quote :
"You aren't allowed to ask me to treat you as an intellectual equal and then expect me to walk on eggshells and play nice nice when you start spewing a bunch of garbage out of your talk hole.
"

everyone's all like "awww they're being mean to her and asking her HARD questions" and when they did that to hillary everyone was like "just grow a pair, cunt" or whatever. besides, you seem to assume that i was a hillary supporter in the first place. anyway i disagree, i think hillary definitely fought harder battles. palin is a joke. it doesn't matter if feminist means nonshaving, treehugging, liberal, intellectual. or if it means smart, strong, stay at home mom. either way, she is not someone women should be placing on a pedestal. it isn't because she is conservative (although IN MY OPINION being antichoice, etc does set women back, but that is beside the point). there are many, many respectable, intelligent, conservative women that i would call feminist. and it isn't really even about that anyway. i don't know what a feminist is. but i do know that i can disagree with qualified people, but i cannot disrespect them. i disagree and disrespect her. the only reason it really has anything to do with "feminism" is because she is female. so we have a) those who assume vaginas vote vagina and b) being a woman in a position to hold the first or second highest office in the country (being the first to have a VIABLE opportunity to do so) and then acting like a complete idiot then HER idiocy and mishaps and whatever are imputed to ALL women. and everyone is just looking around at each other being like "i told you so, women are not as smart as men" or "no woman could ever do that job."

its not about whether she is a feminist. or if she's conservative. if someone like Kay Baily Hutchison (sp?) or ANY other woman on McCain's short list was picked i don't think i would feel this way. there would be a smart, qualified, strong woman in this position. i don't know how else to explain it. this probably doesn't make sense so i'm going to shhhhh.

but yes, i am feisty

It doesn't make much sense. You're probably just all emotional 'cause of your cycle or something. I keeeed, I keeed.

I get what you're saying. As much as I hated Hillary for her stupid ideas and awful politics I could at least respect her for having the chops to do the job, the take no prisoners and damn the consequences attitude to get what she wanted, and the guts to take the heat. Hillary clearly read her Machiavelli, and I can respect that. Then she pulled that crying shit and I lost all respect for her. Now I hate her and think she's a scumbag. With Palin there's very little reason to respect her. She's not qualified, she's clearly not capable of doing the job (at least based off of her performance and what she's said thus far), and her strong suit is that she looks good in a skirt and has a retarded kid. Why should I value her in any way?

ahahahahahaha. i loled at your post. seriously. made my night.

and ps one LAST thing that i think we agree on anyway but i will point out for future readers---if ultra conservative and ultra liberal columnists can agree on one thing: how disqualified she is...THAT is saying something.

PPS i was never a hillary supporter. i mean i respected her and i still do (to an extent). but for me, it was never about gender. yes, i want to see a woman president but i want the right one for the job. not just any random woman (uhhh palin?). also, if i was ever into hillary, i would have volunteered for her campaign pronto as a fashion advisor. maybe that could have helped her out.

Ifill actually needs to make sure she is unbiased during the debate.

My take on the matter is that the McCain camp is perfectly happy to have a moderator with a bias. That way should Palin lose the debate in spectacular fashion they'll have an out - 'Oh, well the moderator was bias'. Now they've got their spin to cover the debate outcome.

true

that's why I said this before that

Quote :
"I don't know why Democrats would even want her to do this because no matter what happens... the McCain campaign is going to complain about the moderator's bias, regardless of what questions are asked."

Seems like a no-win situation for Biden no matter what he does:

1. If he's aggressive - he's an asshole
2. If he backs off - he's sexist
3. If he wins handily - the questions were biased to his favor
4. If they tie - his experience isn't an advantage over Palin's lack of experience
5. If he loses - he got beat by the biggest mistake in the HISTORY of politics (allegedly) with biased questions in his favor

Quote :
"What the debate really means for Biden, Palin

ST. LOUIS - Thursday night can't come soon enough for John McCain’s campaign.

Sure, there's a lot at stake for Sarah Palin, but anything that even remotely distracts the public from the current economic mess is a good thing for McCain.

Right now, the trajectory of this race doesn’t favor the GOP nominee.

McCain is trailing in practically every true battleground state, and now, he finds himself defending Republican turf that includes Indiana, Missouri and North Carolina.

There has been steady movement in Barack Obama's direction now for two weeks and the time left for McCain to throw a wrench into that momentum is dwindling.

That's why Thursday is so crucial for McCain"

palin is about how I'd expect a 10th grader to debate. write a speech, memorize, then "debate" with it.

(her intonations are those of a 3rd grade teacher)
