looks good for everyone but citi..their stocks are dropping
10/3/2008 12:31:09 PM
what's going to happen with my citi credit card?
10/3/2008 12:37:27 PM
^ yea i was wondering the same thing. I have other credit cards, but my Citi card has been my main card and its tied to my bills and all so I need to stay on top of this. Also doesnt it hurt your credit score if someone goes under and thus closes your card? especially the card with the largest limit?

I haven't read anything that says Citi is going under... just that it doesn't get to buy Wachovia. How would that affect your card at all?
10/3/2008 12:45:01 PM
I know, but IF they went under...Im just trying to stay informed before it happens if it happens.
10/3/2008 12:50:15 PM
so if they went under would my debt go with them????
10/3/2008 1:46:03 PM
Someone else would buy the debt up and you'd make the check out to someone else that wanted a 17% ROI.I just hope Wachovia is charged a million overdraft fees.

Oh for the love of all:http://www.wral.com/business/story/3675273/Screw Citigroup, their deal is weak and are just crying about it.

This will be a very interesting battle, worst case scenario is Citi succeeds in blocking the bid Wells backs off and the Wachovia shareholders reject the merger. This is a no win situation for Citi they won't get a Wachovia and may try to cause Wachovia to fail in the process.
10/5/2008 11:10:07 AM
why would the shareholders block the merger? stocks rose because of it
10/5/2008 11:26:27 AM
uh, they would block it b/c the wells fargo offer is a better deal
10/5/2008 2:43:43 PM
oh you said merger...which is what wells fargo is trying to docitigroup just wanted to buy a few select parts of wachovia which is why the merger is a much better plan than breaking up the company and laying some of them off
