0-7 in the preseason
10/22/2008 5:26:15 PM
^^Pretty much knew all that, but it's still pretty unnerving to read in an article.Like most people, I want an NBA team in my home state ... i want to have a dog in the fight so to speak. I'm just not sure I want the Bobcats.Ideally, Johnson would sell the team to someone who lives in Charlotte and actually cares about the community. Then, the new owner would rename the team to cleanse it of Johnson's shitiness, maybe the cougars or the flight (which would have been 10x better than the fucking bobcats). Then they'd remove Jordan and all the other incompetent front-office people. Then maybe it'd be a lot easier to root for the NBA team in Charlotte.
10/22/2008 7:28:37 PM
How much do tickets usually run?
10/22/2008 11:21:12 PM
how does charlotte compare in size to other nba cities? i would never consider it a "small" town
10/22/2008 11:43:27 PM
Charlotte has more people in its area than Portland and Ok City I would say.....Other than that possibly the smallest NBA city.
10/23/2008 12:38:18 AM
^Not even closeCharlotte has more people than:MilwaukeeMemphisSacramentoNew OrleansOrlandoMinneapolisDenver[Edited on October 23, 2008 at 12:53 AM. Reason : There might be others but those were the obvious ones]
10/23/2008 12:53:17 AM
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_cities_by_populationWow Charlotte is now the 19th biggest city in the U.S.Color me impressed....
10/23/2008 1:07:13 AM
edit: I suckCharlotte is the 19th most populous city in the US.1 - New York City, New York: 8,274,5272 - Los Angeles, California: 3,834,3403 - Chicago, Illinois: 2,836,6584 - Houston, Texas: 2,208,1805 - Phoenix, Arizona: 1,552,2596 - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: 1,449,6347 - San Antonio, Texas: 1,328,9848 - San Diego, California: 1,266,7319 - Dallas, Texas: 1,240,49910 - San Jose, California: 939,89911 - Detroit, Michigan: 916,95212 - Jacksonville, Florida: 805,60513 - Indianapolis, Indiana: 795,45814 - San Francisco, California: 764,97615 - Columbus, Ohio: 747,75516 - Austin, Texas: 743,07417 - Fort Worth, Texas: 681,81818 - Memphis, Tennessee: 674,02819 - Charlotte, North Carolina: 671,58820 - Baltimore, Maryland: 637,455[Edited on October 23, 2008 at 1:09 AM. Charlotte has double the people that St. Louis does and NC can't get a MLB team. St. Louis had like 5th highest attendance in MLB this year....
10/23/2008 1:16:09 AM
they're also 2nd in number of world series championships, but as of right now charlotte cant support a mlb team...i doubt raleigh could...and no other city could...maybe in 10-15 years...its not all about population although that certainly helps[Edited on October 23, 2008 at 1:18 AM. Reason : .]
10/23/2008 1:17:43 AM
It would take a franchise move for NC to get a baseball team.
10/23/2008 1:47:26 AM
Yeah and the Marlins are staying in Miami to play in a new stadium at the site of the former Orange Bowl. We could do better than they do.....they average less than 10,000 a game.
10/23/2008 1:57:52 AM
Bobcats vs Lakers on TNT right now, just startedNo Kobe b/c he hyper extended his knee when he landed on Josh Powell the other day. gg Josh.
10/23/2008 10:25:10 PM
i can't cheer for a team with sean may on it. fuck that fat fuck
10/23/2008 11:40:12 PM
^ thats the same bs logic i hear about how people can't cheer for the panthers because of pep. Anyways #19 and if wells doesn't complete wipeout wachovia Charlotte could be top 15 soon. Right in the middle of the east coast and a perfect place to live. Raleigh is #48!!! Look for it to be top 40 within 5 years.
10/24/2008 12:02:12 AM
Damn these niggas stank20-62
10/24/2008 12:04:21 AM
terrible shooting. augustin and felton have been terrible all preseason. even carroll has been ice cold this preseason. i think morrison has actually looked pretty good in limited minutes this season. i realize they probably need to move one of these wing players, but i dont know who'd be the best to go at this point.
10/24/2008 12:23:25 AM
^^^ what the fuck are you talking about
10/24/2008 12:51:50 AM
This was just on sportscenter, and I did not want to make a thread about it. But who do you think will have the largest impact this year; Beasley, Rose, Oden?
10/24/2008 9:29:49 AM
we suck so bad
10/24/2008 9:33:02 AM
^^^ I am pretty sure I said you seem like the same angry posters on packpride who won't cheer for the carolina panthers because julius peppers is on the team, kind of like you can't cheer for the bobcats because of sean may. Simple way I put it.
10/24/2008 8:47:29 PM
The bobcats are a whole different story from the panthers. I honestly don't think state fans minded that, initially, the team seemed loaded with Tar Heel players. It's the fact that the whole front office and coaching staff seem to be ex-heels.
10/24/2008 9:03:48 PM
Waived Jermareo DavidsonSigned Linton Johnsonand Adam Morrison cut off all of his hair....[Edited on October 28, 2008 at 3:45 PM. Reason : .]
10/28/2008 3:44:41 PM
Movin' on up !I'm usually hyped for the Bobcats season to start, but this year the realization that this team will never be a contender as long as the current regime is in place is beginning to damper my enthusiasm before the season even starts
10/28/2008 4:05:45 PM
10/28/2008 4:11:46 PM
^^Each year I lose enthusiasm for this team because of that.Larry Brown got hired because nobody else would hire him and we an old UNC guy a favor.I used to watch every game, now I am not sure if I will tune in at all.
10/28/2008 4:53:39 PM
the glory days with primoz and eddie house are gonewhen adrian branch left, followed by matt devlin, my motivation for watching went with them
10/28/2008 9:54:24 PM
10 dollar tickets! even if i lived uptown I think i'd rather do something else.
10/29/2008 1:16:04 AM
One of Bill O'Rielly's 20 predictions for the NBA season:
10/29/2008 10:31:38 AM
*Bill Simmonsand yeah, it's pretty bad when impartial observers are calling your management a bunch of idiots.
10/29/2008 10:45:57 AM
lol bill o'reillyI prefer reading the insights of Charlotte Observer reporter Rick Ross
10/29/2008 10:57:58 AM
Eh...it's that time already...so saddening. III
10/29/2008 11:46:30 AM
haha def not Bill O
10/29/2008 7:31:27 PM
Why did I see the Division II game of the week on Sportsouth, and not the Bobcats? Fuck Charter.
10/30/2008 9:34:03 PM
Sean May played about as expected...2 points, from the line, and probably not even 10 minutes...what a fat dump he is
10/30/2008 9:36:04 PM
Morrison looked relatively good tonight though
10/30/2008 9:37:57 PM
Yes we still suck enough to waste another top 5 pick next year!
10/30/2008 10:00:07 PM
10/30/2008 10:02:26 PM
10/30/2008 10:05:02 PM
blah, another year of crappy basketball.
10/30/2008 10:08:18 PM
^^plus the Cardinals have what, 10 World Series titles? They have enough history and prestige to support 81 home games a year...Charlotte definitely doesn'tMorrison did look alright...so did J-Rich...anybody hear Larry Brown's post game comments? something to the effect of "I don't know how, but we need Sean May to lose weight and get in shape"
10/30/2008 10:12:58 PM
^^^Think you got your numbers mixed up. Charlotte is No. 24. Hell, the Triad is top 50 (46)http://www.charlotteobserver.com/business/story/157917.html
10/30/2008 10:40:23 PM
anyone need tickets for saturday?
10/31/2008 12:33:06 AM
Got the first win of the season tonight. Bobcats 100 - Heat 87 Wallace 34 pts 9 reb 3 ast 3 blk 2 stlRichardson 23 pts 2 ast 1 reb 1 stlOkafor 18 pts 13 reb 1 blkFelton 6 pts 8 ast 6 reb
11/1/2008 9:38:30 PM
Good to see that they got a win. Unfortunately, instead of the Bobcats on Sportsouth tonight, College Flash Classics was on. Thankfully, this Texas-Texas Tech game is on.
11/1/2008 10:15:05 PM
Good to see the Bobcats win. But even better to see Brown bench May's fatass.
11/1/2008 11:05:45 PM
^seemed almost inevitable he would bench may since he only thought he could get a good 5 minutes out of him each halfif you are supposed to be a good nba player and only have the stamina to play hard 10 minutes out of 48 you need to be benched
11/3/2008 7:43:32 PM
Here's some analysis from Fox Sports' Charley Rosen. I think this dude's analysis of the NBA is freaking horrible, I don't even know how he has a job. "Brown's Bobcats aren't that bad, or are they?"http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/8753908/Brown%27s-Bobcats-aren%27t-that-bad,-or-are-they?[Edited on November 6, 2008 at 5:21 PM.
