^^It got better as time progressed too - I watch Olbermann every day, but the point of the sketch was to make fun of him. They did a damn good job doing so![Edited on November 3, 2008 at 4:12 PM. Reason : ]

I know it's supposed to be over the top....but there is over the top lame (Read: Most of what's on SNL) and over the top funny. This fits in the former in my opinion. And no, Oberlmann has an American accent, not some British variant. I get the fact that he uses big words and annunciates them in an often presumptuous way, but going the extra step loses me in terms of being funny at all. I mean, at least get close...

i like Olbermann, generally speaking, BUT... regardless of his training, his role and entire reputation is definitely as COMMENTATOR and not as a professional journalist.he's the flipside of O'Reilly to be sure.GG to MSNBC for attempting to balance their coverage. given his emotional outbursts against the republicans (deserved or not), he really shouldn't be the anchor on a news program -- especially one that requires even-handed treatment, the most critical national election in recent memory.[Edited on November 3, 2008 at 5:07 PM. Olbermann just made a good point that SNL spent more time on HIM than anyone else the SNL before the election!LOL2nd post

Miss Precious Perfect. LOL

Olbermann is far from a professional journalist and at best I would discribe him as a commentator. I am glad they dropped him and Matthews.

They shouldn't be anchors to begin this. They're commentators. Also, unless I am misunderstanding, I believe they've been dropped as anchors, not that their shows have been dropped. Which would make more sense.[Edited on November 4, 2008 at 7:30 AM. Reason : .]

Ben Affleck and the folks at SNL got Olbermann spot perfect.

Not happy. Ed Shultz is waaaay more over the top that Keith was but I guess since no one watched Ed Shultz anyways that it didn't matter. How am I going to know who the worst people in the world are now?

^^Lawrence O'Donnell will let you know

Lawrence O'Donnell is right up there on my shit list alongside Hannity. Olbermann bothered me, but nowhere near the level of those two.

Have you watched Ed Shultz? And I am saying this as a liberal. He and Chris Matthews annoy me.
1/22/2011 8:10:16 PM
Maddow is MSNBC's best asset. Anyway it seems Comcast is right wing and that is why KO was KO'd. Fox's hacks and nutjobs are safe for a long time to come.
1/22/2011 8:11:06 PM
I disagree entirely with Ed on nearly everything, but he honestly just doesn't come off as that bright. Not that Hannity does or anything, but he doesn't give off the impression that he rode the short bus as a child.
1/22/2011 8:36:50 PM
^^What difference does it make if Comcast is right wing? In the MSM you can't get much further left than NBC, and NBC owns MSNBC (obviously) not Comcast.

I wouldn't say Comcast is right wing I think they are like a majority of this country which is slightly right leaning centrists. Olbermann was extremely left wing there can be no debating that. But it did not fit the direction Comcast wants MSNBC to go. I am thinking they want MSNBC to be more like CNN a left leaning but not far left cable news network.

^yep.I think comcast just thought having someone with a different opinion on every now and then to mention the other side's opinion would probably help. lol
